Bought vouchers for two in 2016 at a cost of £198. Tried to book a flight 13 times but it was cancelled every time due to apparant "bad weather", COVID meant two years with not flights, during which time vouchers had expired. Virgin now hiding behind T & C refusing to either give flight I've paid for, or refund tickets. The flights may be brilliant but my advice is don't buy them unless you realise there's a reasonable chance you're going to lose your money.Amazed that Richard Branson allows his company's name to be associated with this company.I see VBF have replied to my initial post, claiming dates and number of cancellations as inaccurate. Not according to my records they're not. Whatever the number I don't think it ethical that they can use their T & C to keep their customers' money without providing any service or goods. Neither have they currently offered further vouchers at reduced cost - but why would I wish to risk throwing more money their way with no guarantee of actually getting one of their flights?
I missed my voucher renewal date by 3 days. I emailed asking if there was anything I could do and Lynn M dealt with me by extending my deadline. I was very grateful as this was a gift and I did not want to lose the experience or disappoint the gift giver. Thankyou
The agent who dealt with my issue, Lynn, was extremely helpful. Over a couple of days, firstly by email and later by phone, she explained Virgin Balloon Flights position regarding my refund request explained my options and then assisted when I had problems with completing the procedure. A very pleasant experience in all.
This was a 70th birthday present from our family. We were delighted when the weather conditions finally allowed us to use our vouchers. Virgin would never allow a flight to go unless the conditions were safe. It was worth the 3 year wait!! Adrian, our pilot was experienced, knowledgeable and personable; we felt we were in a safe pair of hands as he involved us in the preparation of the huge balloon and its launch. He was ably supported in the air by Ben (with his trainee son, Devon) and the ground support team- all very experienced. It was surreal to be up in the air, standing in the wicker basket, looking down on Gosfield, the Hedinghams and Halstead, and finally landing at Great Yeldham after about an hour’s flight. As we came down, we waved at various people in their gardens! We packed up the huge balloon, had a little celebration and left content, with a wonderful experience behind us, and much to tell our family and friends.
We had a great day! The team 'DAB' (Derek, Adrian, Ben) were great, so knowledgeable! Explained everything well and made the experience very easy going!Word of warning bring your muscles! It was great being involved and helping fill the balloon, unfolding and folding the balloon was a great part of the experience!Having a little crash landing was all part of the fun and think I would have been a little disappointed if we didnt fall over at the end lol.
