This company is absolutely disgraceful where do I start cold calling warmer solutions director Hegarty, Marcus came to my stepfather's house age 77 very vulnerable roughly 6 years ago we had the roof done with new breathable felt and battens allowing the roof to have good air circulation this had cured the dump problem that was above windows upstairs. Warmer solutions had installed a silver foil installation inside the roof. The contract price for this work £5,184.00 the installer that came in was there for no more than 4 hours my stepfather has already paid a deposit £1,296.00 they took advantage of an old vulnerable man that has been through very very very serious traumas. The one thing I didn't like they got the deposit off him then there is a 14-day cooling off period 2 days after the signing of the contract they've commenced work getting him to sign another contract to do work straight away making a 14-day cooling off period in their eyes non-valid. There is no way anyone that's vulnerable will be able to read that small print. Another thing I found alarming on his brochure and paperwork inside and booklet the federations he is supposedly registered with he is not registered with 1 LABC 2 safe contract approved 3 green deal approved provider 4 energy saving trust 5 Kiwa. there is four companies he's registered with three of these companies are nothing to do with this type of work and one of them is and they haven't got back to me yet. I've run a business for over 35 years I'm a very very very highly skilled craftsman when I think they could be vulnerable I make sure someone else is there for them so they fully understand. This is only the start I think when my mum was alive when the roof was done with new felt and batten with scaffolding just over £3,000.00.
This company targeted my 79-year-old father after obtaining his details through a lead generation website. Within just two days of the initial contact, they had pressured him into signing up for loft insulation and paying £3,000 upfront.Despite the fact that my father does not use or access the loft, he was persuaded to proceed without a clear understanding of what he was agreeing to. He was also presented with a separate form specifically designed to waive his 14-day cooling-off rights, something he did not fully comprehend. This form seems to have been used deliberately to fast-track the work and prevent him from changing his mind.No proper explanation of the contract or his consumer rights was given, and the whole process felt rushed, exploitative, and deeply inappropriate for someone of his age and vulnerability. We have now reported this matter to Trading Standards and are seeking further advice. Companies like this should not be allowed to operate unchecked especially when their tactics involve taking advantage of elderly people.Avoid this firm at all costs, and be extremely cautious if they contact you or your loved ones.
Had the team from Warmer Solutions over to insulate my loft here in Leeds - genuinely impressed. Alex was the installer - very professional and did a great job with his team. They turned up right on time, were polite and got on with the job without any fuss. Everything was explained clearly, and the place was left spotless. I noticed that the temperature indoors feels more stable and comfortable now. The only downside was a slight drop in TV signal due to the foil layer used in the insulation, but the company quickly sent someone over and fixed the issue at no cost. I’d definitely recommend Warmer Solutions to anyone around West Yorkshire looking to improve their home’s insulation.
My elderly aunt was cold called by Marcus. I googled Marcus Hegarty and found he was a former drug dealer. Marcus not only did a bad job, but from inspecting the Google Home I installed in my aunt's home, he also 'helped' my aunt, reduce her bank balance by 5000 GBP. I inspected his work with a professional and they found he had not prepared the surfaces prior to insulation - and so the mould will return. The layering of the chemical used is also uneven and so is not efficient. It is deeply upsetting because I work abroad, and I come back every few months to check on her as she is alone. It is predatory and I am concerned that there are so many similar experiences and yet nothing has been done.
A representative came to visit us on the pretext that they would only spend 10-15 minutes assessing our loft. When he came he was extremely aggressive, insisting that he spend an hour chatting to us, even though we had other things planned. What followed was a load of misinformation, high pressure tactics and psychological manipulation. He didn’t seem to have any technical knowledge and couldn’t answer questions about the need to have an air gap and that Superfoil needs to be synced with other insulation to work effectively. He showed us readings from a moisture meter saying the readings were high when in fact they were low and only explained what they meant after our insistence. He warned us that the government was likely to remove the 0% VAT on roof insulation “any day” and that it could soon attract 20% VAT. This is not true. There is no indication the government is planning to do that. The scheme runs out in 2027 when if not renewed VAT on roof insulation will revert to 5%. We were offered a huge discount if we signed up immediately. We were not informed of any cooling off period.
Marketing tactics need revising. My elderly mother received a marketing via landline on behalf of warmsolutions. Sales individuals arrived next day and she was advised she required immediate work. She felt pressured to sign a contract of £7000 and paid a deposit of £1700. The sale occurred very quickly and she did not have time to really think about it. When she thought about this whirlwind approach, she reviewed the paperwork and with no named contact details written on the contract, she became very wary. She did not read the firms contact email address well and did not really understand the paperwork to cancel the product. Upon my involvement the company did return the deposit but I certainly believe the sales individuals need training on reminding individuals their consumer rights. Using a highlighter pen to mark the procedure and how to cancel the contract would be beneficial to the elderly. Review your approach please and thank you for returning the deposit.
Edward, a cheery soul, gave me lots of details on the benefits and science behind having my roof insulation upgraded. I hope the amount of fuel he estimated I will save is accurate. Also looking forward to having a cooler bedroom in those hot spells. Shane's efficient installation is very neat and was carried out the next day! He made sure I was happy with the work and answered more questions. The service cannot be faulted. Will happily recommend.
