Review Time
We previously used Marmalade to insure our sons when they were new drivers, no issues then. This time, I paid for a policy but somehow confused them because I am mainly retired, but still do some part time work. In 40 years driving, I've never been asked for my V5 logbook or proof of employment before! I provided both these, they didn't like the 'proof' of employment (I work for myself, though provided Tax & superann returns, with clear proof of employment). Bear in mind, we pay more for cover that includes commuting to/from work, so why would I make it up?! Generic emails sent, had to click on attachment to discover what documents they wanted. "Per attached Guide" (they did not attach). I replied to email, "not manned"' EVERY time I tried to log in to my account, not recognised, had to REGISTER every time to then get in. Shenanigans continued for 8 days, after which I gave up. cancelled my policy & returned to another company, with whom I've insured before. DO NOT TOUCH MARMALADE with a barge pole! If I could give zero stars, I would. Though the staff member on Live Chat was helpful (once I got on via Chrome, to obtain the chat button; it doesn't appear on Edge browser). Overly clunky ineffectual web system at Marmalade. Horrible experience!
