I recently took part in a WeRoad trip to Mexico, and I have to say, the entire experience was very disappointing.
When I booked the trip, the information clearly stated that accommodation was included, but nowhere did it mention any additional hotel taxes. However, these were later deducted from the group fund, which felt misleading, especially considering the already steep price I paid for the trip.
The hotels were, to be blunt, more like hostels—definitely not up to even a one-star standard. Many of them were priced at around £35 per night for two people, but the overall cost of the trip was £1,269, not including flights. The rooms had dirty towels, stained sheets, leaking air conditioning, no hairdryers, poor water pressure, and overall subpar maintenance. Some toilets didn’t flush, and the lack of privacy in certain hotels was shocking. For example, one bathroom had no door, and another had no glass in the window—so we could hear everything from every room. It was very uncomfortable.
Breakfast was another letdown. Every single morning, we were given only eggs, with no alternatives for those with dietary restrictions or intolerances. It was the same thing day after day, with no variety at all.
There was also a complete lack of transparency when it came to the group’s money pot. Decisions were made without consulting anyone, particularly when it came to things like tipping and extra costs.
Many of the hotels were located far from the activities, which meant we were spending about seven hours each day on the bus and had to pay for taxis to get around. Better location choices could’ve saved us a lot of time and money.
By the time I factored in the flights and extra expenses, the trip ended up costing me around £4,000. For that price, I received subpar accommodation, one included activity, and zero food options. On top of that, I was asked to cover the driver’s costs, as WeRoad didn’t pay them a living wage! In the end, the trip didn’t match what was advertised and certainly didn’t offer value for money.
I would definitely recommend avoiding WeRoad.
I had a pleasant experience on the trip overall; the group was friendly and there were many enjoyable activities, particularly the quads and balloon ride. However, my trip leader made an inappropriate comment about my background, which really affected my enjoyment and disrupted what should have been a peaceful vacation for at least a few days.
I just got back from an unforgettable journey to the Maldives. It was truly a special experience, enhanced by a wonderful group of like-minded travelers who connected so well. Traveling with the company felt like being with friends. Our coordinator was exceptional, ensuring we all had a fantastic time, capturing moments through photos, providing all the necessary details throughout the journey, and radiating the positive energy that made this trip memorable. I will certainly be booking another adventure with them soon!
I participated in a trip to South Africa with the service, and the coordinator lacked knowledge about the country and the planned activities. There were no contingency plans for weather-dependent events, and she frequently canceled activities without informing the group, disregarding our preferences. The website did not specify which activities were weather-dependent prior to booking. We were particularly interested in whale watching, but locals informed us that it was completely out of season. Overall, I cannot recommend this service; it feels misleading, and the coordinators seem to lack proper training.
The people in our group, especially our amazing coordinator, made the trip memorable. The destinations were enjoyable, and I would have loved to see more nature than cities. The food was great too. I wish I could have done a kayak ride—maybe next time!
I recently returned from a nine-day group trip to Nepal, and I can confidently say it was an amazing experience from beginning to end. Everything went smoothly, from logistics to daily activities, and I couldn’t have asked for a better adventure. We experienced so much in just over a week: each day was filled with new impressions, diverse activities, and unforgettable moments, yet the schedule felt perfectly balanced and well-paced. Despite a full itinerary, nothing felt rushed or stressful. Everything transitioned seamlessly, and there were no issues at all throughout the trip. A major highlight was our coordinator, who made the journey truly memorable. He was attentive, fun, and organized, ensuring everyone’s needs were met. He also allowed us to add personal activities outside the group program and worked to integrate them into the schedule. His enthusiasm and commitment greatly contributed to the trip's success. Additionally, we had two fantastic local guides who stayed with us the entire time. They were knowledgeable, supportive, and exceptionally well-prepared, managing everything behind the scenes so we could simply enjoy the experience. Overall, I can only speak positively about this trip. It was wonderfully organized, filled with memorable experiences, and backed by an exceptional team. I would highly recommend this Nepal itinerary to anyone seeking a smooth and enriching travel adventure.
It was my first trip with the service, and it turned out to be a truly wonderful experience. The itinerary was great and perfectly organized, with options for extra activities along the way. The group was fantastic, and our coordinator added such a positive vibe to the entire trip! An overwhelmingly awesome experience!
The Egypt trip was an amazing whirlwind experience that I wouldn't have had without this service. They excel in organizing efficient group travel, and I highly recommend visiting Egypt with a group and a guide, which was very well arranged. Although the trip was intense, we managed to fit in a lot and truly make the most of it, especially thanks to our fantastic coordinator.
The Sri Lanka trip was largely enjoyable, primarily due to our fantastic local team. They were professional, attentive, and prioritized our safety and comfort, particularly during a three-day cyclone that confined us to Nuwara Eliya. However, we only managed to complete about half of the planned itinerary, and the central team offered minimal support. Our families were reassured that everything was fine when it wasn’t, leading to unnecessary stress. Emergency communication needs to be clearer and more accurate. Overall, while the local team excelled, improvements are needed in crisis communication and family support.
