Westgate trickery as an owner to buy my timeshare again.

Westgate used trickery to sell my own timeshare back to me at a hefty price. I have been a Westgate owner since 2016. This was a transferred account from an old friend who initially purchased a 3-bedroom on even years, back in 2001. I’ve attended several “owners update” sales presentations over the years. As an owner, I thought it crazy they wanted me to pay anything to upgrade my ownership. Well, that changed last week. This time the salesman convinced me of the upcoming changes in 2024 where I’d have to pay much more to keep what I have through maintenance, booking fees, and availability. By upgrading my current ownership, he would turn my units into passive income. He added that by upgrading to 4-bedroom, after the holiday season, I’d make more than the $23,000 buy-in price. This plus $50 cruises, double weekly stays, discounted travel, and a personal travel agent/sales agent. My brother-in-law sat with me and we both couldn’t sign up fast enough. 6 hours later we got back to our room. I started questioning my decision soon after and went down the rabbit hole in research and discovered horror stories. The only passive income people made from their timeshare were in comments in forums where others were told the same but never materialized. Same with accessing any of the benefits or even reaching their Westgate contact / salesman. I learned of the notice of rescission to get out of a timeshare contract. They hid a copy of my contract in a sealed envelope buried in the back of a case they gave me. When I discovered it, nothing in it contained any of the points laid out to me. Even the free memberships they included was only temporary before I was required to pay to continue using. I am lucky that I learned of canceling within the 10-day timeframe in Florida. I also sent back the case and tablet they provided as a “gift” to avoid another $200 fee as discovered in their tiny print ( I used a magnifier to find it). I’m sorry for so many that accept what is told without question and get locked in paying thousands after their rescission period ends. Like I started, I have been an owner with Westgate for 7 years. As part of the “deal”, I had to sign over my original deed in order to upgrade. I no longer see my property on their website where my docs and maintenance schedule / payment info is located. I can only hope they keep it because I no longer want a penny of my money to ever go into their lying pockets again.

Don't buy from westgate

On March 17, 2019, Westgate Vacation Villas deliberately misled us by presenting their property as a real estate investment opportunity, like buying a vacation home. We were assured that by purchasing a property, we would have unlimited access and the ability to use it whenever we desired. The lady told us all we had to do was go to the office and show our owner card and they would give us the key to our unit. However, we later discovered that we were misled, as it turned out to be a timeshare scheme. The sales team deliberately trapped us for hours, bombarding us with relentless sales pitches and exhausting us physically and mentally. This manipulative tactic was employed to make us more susceptible to accepting a deal that was not good for us. We were promised numerous benefits and privileges, such as free tickets, transportation, and discounts, upon purchasing a property with Westgate Vacation Villas. However, these promises turned out to be false. We were charged the full amount for our $2,700 vacation week, despite being assured that it would be waived as part of the purchase. This aggressive approach is unacceptable and unethical.During our recent visit to Kissimmee, Florida, we were appalled by the deplorable condition of the apartment provided to us. It was clear that the property had not been properly maintained, and the lack of cleanliness and upkeep was unacceptable. We were unable to cancel our reservation without incurring additional charges, leaving us no choice but to endure the substandard accommodation. Bottom line is do not buy from Westgate Resorts…..

DO NOT FALL FOR THE WESTGATE TIMESHARE…

DO NOT FALL FOR THE WESTGATE TIMESHARE LIE! This was a huge mistake for my family and me. We were told that we would only need to make one-time mortgage payment and would be able to vacation forever without having to pay any maintenance fees! What a joke! The sales team pressured us for three hours, and made promises that it was very easy to rent/sell the unit and it would be a good income source. We finally gave in based on the promise that there were no maintenance fees, but this was all a lie. We found out the hard way that we cannot travel during peak seasons without being forced to pay fees that they never disclosed during the high-pressure sales pitch. And even worse, when we finally did manage to book a vacation at Westgate, the rooms were dated, dirty, and not at all like the ones we were shown during our sales presentation. We have tried to cancel this timeshare multiple times, but they refuse to help us. Half the time we can’t even get a response from them. It is some of the worst customer experience we have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this deceitful company

Beware of Westgate Resort Orlando

Beware of Westgate Resort Orlando - Unfulfilled Promises and Inaccessible BookingAfter being a timeshare owner at Westgate Resort Orlando for over 18 years, I am utterly disappointed and feel compelled to warn potential buyers about their practices. Despite owning a timeshare apartment here, I have not been able to use it even once. Every attempt to book, even when calling a year in advance, ends with the same response: "not available, book earlier." This has been a consistent issue, rendering the timeshare completely useless to me.It's frustrating to see that all the negative reviews I overlooked before signing up were accurate. Westgate has failed to deliver on their promises of accessible vacation options, effectively locking me and possibly many others out of enjoying what we have paid for. I strongly advise potential timeshare buyers to read the reviews and consider them seriously before committing. In my experience, Westgate Resort operates like scammers, taking your money without delivering the services promised. Proceed with extreme caution!

I was involved in WG TS back in…

I was involved in WG TS back in 2013-2015, I was able to get out of it myself with a .99c book on Amazon. It took 3 months to get out but a lawyer tried charging me $18k and I did it for .99c and a few months. I came to WG recently and they tried the same tactics as before promising a revenue stream which is total BS, anyone can get the same deals and better without paying WG.

Westgate Timeshare Trap

Ken at Westgate is a lying scoundrel! He told us we could expect to make $3,000 A WEEK by renting out our timeshare through AirBnB. News flash, that is not true!! Kens endless lies have cost us tens of thousands of dollars, and a lifetime of unwanted stress. Ken also told us we’d have DISCOUNTED ACCESS TO DISNEY! Their parks, resorts, AND CRUISES! More lies spun in his web to entrap us in a contract they never told was in perpetuity. To make matters worse, we sent a complaint letter to the CEO of Westgate and to no surprise, there has been no response and it’s been a month!Do not get sucked into one of their presentations, let alone stay at one of their resorts. You will regret it for the rest of your life!

Don't Do the timeshare 90 minutes tour. It will be 4hr plus. Feeling like a hostage.

The only reason I went to this hotel was for the ridiculous timeshare tour. The guy giving us the tour was super cool. I believe his name was Chris. The manager!!!! Rude!!! The only thing he cared about was making a sale. He repeatedly threw shots at me because I wasn't interested. Things like. I don't cook for my husband. Second if I don't want the timeshare. My husband should buy it so he could take his girlfriend. I kept my cool. Finally my husband said something. The guy got the point. After 8 different price drops. I'll never book a room with this hotel. Myrtle Beach location.

Wow!! It is all a scam. Smoky Mountain

We stayed a week in a 2 bedroom owners suite which was fabulous. Two full kitchens, air and ceiling fans in every room, two washers and dryers and a giant jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. The balcony had a spectacular view. It was clean. However... The cable never worked so the four tvs were useless and the internet went in and out. The bbq grills did not work when I went to usr them. They apparently got fixed an hour or so afterwards, but two days later I watched from my balcony as others tried and failed to use them as well. The pools and water park are really for kids 10 and under. Lazy river is 2 1/2 feet deep, meaning taller adults while scrap their knees to shreds or just not fit. No wave pool. The pool while nice tops out at four feet and is not big enough for the amount of people there. Owners are assigned a 'concierge' to help with anything you need. Ours was not around. We had the dreaded sales pitch during which he made a number a racist comments about Hispanic people. High, high, high pressure sales tactics in which you feel like you are not free to leave. A lot of lies and half truths. We were given several price drops from $70 grand all the way down to $12 grand, meaning the price does not matter. They just want you to sign on the dotted line and suck maintenance fees from you. The $45 grand they suck out of you at %18 financing is just gravy. Trust me, just stick to your guns. Say No thanks. Answer everything with 'because we do not want to and are not interested' and walk away. Despite our concierge repeatedly claiming to not he a sales person, he clearly was incentived to get us to buy and was clearly pissed that we did not. We never heard from him again after the failed sales attempt. We spoke to several owners during the trip. Not one expressed happiness with the purchase. If you REALLY want to own one, go to eBay. There are hundreds of owners who are trying to give them away for a dollar. That should tell you all that you need to know. The owners can not give them away. The owners can not rent them as Westgate is practically giving away stays for next to nothing. But as I am sure you have read, the lies upon lies told in the sales pitch are beyond belief. There was an entire act about how Westgate screwed up and had quoted us too low a price and how they begged us to not take that deal, but since it was offered they had to accept it. When we refused they made new offers that were literally a third of the said offer. It was all a scam.
