This is the biggest scam ever

This is the biggest scam ever, they couldn’t convince us of getting the time share but we got a weekend for 700.00 and somehow they lost our payment way to deduct it monthly and now they are charging us 279.00 on late fee and no only that they sent it to a collection company affecting my wife credit negatively so don’t fall for this

My family's experience with Westgate…

My family's experience with Westgate Resorts has been nothing short of a nightmare. What began as a desire for a pleasant family vacation to Orlando turned into a regrettable decision to purchase a Westgate timeshare, which appears to be nothing more than a deceptive scheme. During our stay at Westgate Resorts Lakes in Orlando in the summer of 2021, we were lured into a presentation under the guise of securing discounted tickets to Disney parks. However, we were quickly subjected to aggressive sales tactics by a salesman who painted the timeshare as an investment opportunity for our children's future vacations. Despite expressing our financial concerns and reluctance to commit to such a significant financial burden, we were relentlessly pressured into signing the contract. Despite assurances of its value, we have only managed to use the timeshare once in three years, and the promised availability has proven non-existent. Furthermore, the financial strain caused by escalating maintenance fees has become untenable, especially with my mother-in-law losing her job, leaving us trapped in a predatory contract. It is unconscionable that Westgate Resorts would exploit families in this manner, and I urge others to exercise extreme caution when considering any dealings with this company.

Beware of Westgate Las Vegas

Beware of Westgate Las Vegas – a company more interested in profits than ethical business practices. My wife and I had the misfortune of attending a so-called "vacation presentation" at Westgate Las Vegas on June 17th. What was supposed to be a brief discussion turned into a nightmare that left us frustrated, irritated, and scammed. From the moment we were approached on the street, we were relentlessly harassed about attending a presentation in exchange for show tickets and a free dinner. Our repeated protests and clear disinterest did not matter, the sales team used inexcusable tactics to keep us engaged. It is crucial to mention that I suffer from anxiety and hearing impairment, which was only exacerbated by the overwhelming atmosphere of the presentation. We repeatedly expressed our desire to leave, but our pleas fell on deaf ears. The situation escalated when we were offered a timeshare for $300,000, a price that miraculously dropped to $10,000 after our repeated refusals. My anxiety was at its peak, and I felt desperate to escape. To make matters worse, our IDs and credit cards were taken upon entry, leaving us uncertain about who had them and unable to leave, further exacerbating my anxiety. After agreeing to buy, we were rushed through the contract signing process, deliberately deprived of information, and discouraged from asking questions. Details such as maintenance fees and the 5-day rescission period were omitted. We were fed misleading information about renting out weeks and using the timeshare as an investment, promises that were false. To date, we have paid around $3,000 and have been unable to secure any availability for personal use or rental, despite being assured of flexibility and open availability. The entire experience with Westgate was a disgrace!

Don’t waste your money purchasing a timeshare with Westgate Resort. We went into the presentation being pressured to purchase, and we rejected multiple offers, and after each rejection they acted like they never heard us say NO! It was a horrible experience from start to finish. We noticed that in our contract there was missing documentation such as the public offering statement. We were asked to lie about our finances and told to inflate our earnings. The sales rep discouraged us from asking any questions and they told us to hold questions until the end of signing the contract. We can obviously see now it was an intentional act to prevent us from obtaining necessary information to make an informed decision. But that’s the rub…they want you ill-informed, otherwise no one would EVER buy a timeshare from them. They never disclosed to us that we had 10 days to cancel our contract if we decided we didn’t want this after all. It was all overlooked because we were told to just sign. I am writing this review in the hopes of helping anyone who reads this from a lifetime of misfortune. Don’t let Westgate sales reps’ pressure or fool you into buying a timeshare. It isn’t worth the hassle or the mountain of debt their salespeople force onto you.

To say Westgate Resorts is a sham is an…

To say Westgate Resorts is a sham is an understatement to the hundredth degree! The timeshare presentation was significantly marred by misleading information and outright falsehoods. We were contacted by the Westgate Lakes team, during a visit after initially becoming owners. During the stay they told us it was urgent for us to come to the main building. When we finally made it, they informed us that the previous salesperson that sold us the week stay made a huge mistake with the paperwork. The previous salesperson had sold us a previously owned 3-bedroom timeshare at the Westgate Lakes Resort for almost nothing and this salesperson who made this mistake was fired. Then they began informing us that they were here to help us out and make sure we stayed as timeshare members with Westgate. We were enticed by the promise of a flexible and affordable vacation solution, alongside exclusive benefits such as access to Disney theme parks and cruise options, due to an alleged partnership between Westgate and Disney resorts. These claims have since been proven to be entirely false, leaving us not only disillusioned but also financially disadvantaged. Perhaps the biggest lie we were told during this transaction is that Westgate has a flexible buyback program. We were told that if we ever found ourselves in a financial predicament (like we are in now), Westgate would buy back the timeshare and we could walk away. We’ve recently found out, as you surely guessed, that the mortgage balance must be paid in full, it cannot be sold back, nor will they talk to us about releasing us.

Avoid Westgate Resorts!

We were deceived on so many levels by Westgate Resorts. Our original purchase seemed on the up and up until we were done eating breakfast. Then we were pressured and told what turned out to be lies for the next 2 1⁄2 hours. We were told if we couldn’t use our timeshare we would be able to rent it and get our money back from the investment. This is not true. We were told we would be able to stay in beautiful rooms. This is not true. The rooms we have stayed in on the handful of times have been subpar to say the least.Anytime you do actually use the timeshare, they demand you attend another meeting. We walked out of one and the sales person followed us! If you don’t agree to set the meeting they will harass you every day. We stopped using the timeshare for this and many other reasons. Now they won’t even respond to us. They sold us a useless product through manipulation and lies, but refuse to answer us when we call them out on the lies.Traveling to a Westgate resort in the first place has now become our biggest regret.

Our experience with Westgate Lakes in August 2014 has gotten worse over the years. We were tricked into a high-pressure sales deal that promised a lot but gave us nothing. After nine frustrating years, Westgate Resorts hasn't cared about our concerns, and we've had enough. Our ordeal began with a sneaky welcome breakfast that turned into a sales pitch to get us to upgrade our unit. They made all sorts of promises about affordability, making money, and convenience, but it was all a bunch of lies. When we signed the contract, none of the things they promised turned out to be true. Booking was a pain, maintenance fees went way up, selling or renting was impossible, passing it to our kids will become a burden for them, and the so-called investment has turned into a financial disaster. We have made countless calls to address our concerns and now we want out of our contract! Westgate Resorts is a dishonest and pushy company that turned our happy vacation into a lifetime of regret and debt.

Do not purchase a time share from this company. Our rep flat out lied to us as did the finance representative. Once you try and book your time there are so many block out times you can’t get a reservation.

Westgate Resorts is a crooked timeshare…

Westgate Resorts is a crooked timeshare scam. Now I see why timeshares have such a bad stigma attached to them. Since 2014, they have shamelessly taken our money and offered little in return. When my wife and I first signed up, we were dazzled with glamorous vacations at a cost that was comparatively cheaper than not using a timeshare. Sounds great, right? Well, the truth is that we have a terrible time trying to get reservations, even when we book more than half the year in advance. The interest rate, which was never mentioned, is through the roof. Maintenance fees go up every year without fail. So much for “minimal payments” and “affordable vacations”. We have dumped over $30,000 into Westgate and for what?

Westgate Timeshare Nightmare

I’ve made some mistakes in my life, but signing up for a timeshare with Westgate has been the worst of them. I want to stop others from falling for the trap they set. Just like the other reviews you will see on this website and others, we were offered a free stay at their resorts if we sat through a seminar. The free stay sounds nice, but trust me, if you fall for the lies they say in that seminar meeting, it will come with a price far greater. They told us about how we were getting such a good deal because another timeshare owner was upgrading, so their old unit was for sale at a great price. The truth is it was all a ploy to get us to sign up. There is nothing great about this timeshare. You can’t even use it because there is no availability when you try and book. We purchased this almost 10 years ago now, and have used it a total of 3 days. We’ve paid for nothing. It has drained our bank accounts and added so much stress into our lives. We have called out Westgate on all of the lies, yet they do not seem to care. We have asked them hundreds of times to just end our ownership and leave us alone. Yet, they continue to harass us for more money. If you are even considering staying at a Westgate property, I would advise you to be very careful. They do not have your best interests at heart, and they will say and do whatever it takes to get you to purchase a useless timeshare from them.
