Review Time
We stayed here from October 25th to October 29 and it was absolutely terrible rooms were disgusting no access to the laundry room after we called 3 days straight the staff is terrible I feel like me and my wife were robbed of our vacation I don’t recommend to anyone
I wish I could give Westgate a zero-star review for the deceptive nightmare we experienced during their timeshare presentation in Las Vegas. From the start, the sales representative played a pricing game that would make even the most seasoned negotiator dizzy. They initially quoted an absurdly high price of $100,000, only to magically reduce it to $22,000 after six hours of relentless haggling. The whole process felt like a bait-and-switch, leaving us skeptical and uncomfortable. The lack of privacy during the decision-making process was appalling. We asked for some time alone to discuss the purchase but were met with insistence that we decide on the spot. We were even followed to the hallway when we excused ourselves to use the bathroom, as if our need for privacy was inconsequential. One of the representatives fed us misleading information about the ability to transfer the timeshare to Hawaii and sell it back to Westgate at any time. These promises painted a rosy picture of the investment, making it seem like a dream opportunity for our family. However, the reality was far from it, with hidden costs, unavailability issues, and escalating monthly fees that were conveniently omitted. The financial aspects were intentionally obscured, and honest answers were nowhere to be found. Had we known the truth, we would have walked out and demanded our IDs back. The six-hour ordeal left us feeling pressured and deceived, ultimately leading us to sign a contract that was far from what was explained to us. Upon reviewing the contract details later, we discovered that the monthly payments were beyond our means for a 5-night every other year contract. The 5-day rescission period, conveniently left undisclosed during the presentation, left us stuck with a misrepresented and unaffordable agreement. Efforts to sell back the timeshare, as promised, have proven futile, leaving us regretting the day we ever stepped into that presentation.
My experience with Westgate began when I inherited my mothers' timeshare units. A trip to theWestgate Smoky Mountains resort in 2022 became a nightmare when I was coerced into asignificant upgrade during a five-hour sales meeting led by one of their salesmen. Despitedeclining multiple offers, I was misled into believing that this upgrade was the only way totransfer the contract to my name, accumulating an additional $200,000 in debt. The promisesmade by the salesman and his associates, including the ability to travel the world, sell back thetimeshare, and earn rental income, turned out to be blatant lies. Maintenance fees haveincreased annually, and the reality of competing in the rental market with Westgate has been arude awakening. The so-called "investment" has become substantially more expensiveand less beneficial than promised, making it clear that Westgate's sales tactics are deceptiveand predatory.
Our Westgate Resorts experience has been a complete disaster. We were lured in by promises of free dinners and show tickets during a high-pressure sales presentation in Las Vegas. The registration process was excruciatingly slow, and the presentation was full of manipulation and half-truths. What they conveniently left out was the perpetuity clause in the contract, which means our descendants would be stuck with this timeshare indefinitely. The promised benefits of renting out the property turned out to be far from reality. To make matters worse, we were hounded by Westgate salespeople on three separate occasions, even resorting to intimidation tactics. It's been a nightmare dealing with this company, and we strongly advise everyone to avoid them. Canceling our contract is the least they can do to make amends, but it's clear they prioritize their shady sales tactics over customer satisfaction. Steer clear of Westgate Resorts unless you enjoy being scammed and manipulated.
RUN AWAY FROM WESTGATE !! They've earned their terrible reputation. They messed up paperwork for our scheduled timeshare tour. When we took the rescheduled tour, all went well until we got to the very noisy, Orlando, FL closing room high pressure "buy it now" tactics. Finally, after numerous "NO" 's, to numerous salespeople, they signed off on our guest voucher. For messing up original appointment, they offered a related vendor "Vacation Of A Lifetime" two night coupon. Shame on Westgate for being associated with THAT total scam outfit, operated under ETTS, Inc. Timeshare's have a well deserved horrible reputation, for good reason. AVOID WESTGATE and do business with ethical companies.
Westgate does a great job of making you think you will be able to take the vacation of your dreams if you buy into their timeshare. That couldn’t be further from the truth! They will tell you everything you want to hear in order to get you to sign up, but they will deliver on none of it. We did not want this timeshare to begin with, but after keeping us at the sales meeting for over 7 hours, we decided to move forward. They sold us on a buyout from another timeshare owner that was for every other year's use. They failed to go in depth about the maintenance fees increases constantly. They made it seem as though I would easily be able to book stays at Westgate properties nationwide. However, the truth is nothing is ever available to be booked. We have paid thousands of dollars for a timeshare that we cannot use the way we were told we could. It was all a lie to get money out of us. Westgate since refuses to end our timeshare contract. They won’t offer any kind of help for us. As a company who claims to care about their customers, the actions of their customer service suggest they couldn’t care less. Don’t waste your time or money on this company. We are still waiting to be let out of our timeshare contract and look forward to the day we can move on with our lives. Do yourself a favor and say no if they offer you any kind of incentive to go to a meeting. It isn’t worth the trouble they will cause you.
Beyond Disappointment: A Warning to Travelers Scam Alert(BEWARE) This is a TIMESHARE Resort, your family deserves a better vacation than this.Very Offensive Timeshare Manager staff Jill was verbally assaulting tourists, bombarded by timeshare signups. They are dishonest form the moment you walk in. Seriously, calling their guests names and arguing with tourists and making a scene.Such misleading practices and subpar hospitality should not go unnoticed, and I genuinely hope that corrective actions are taken against this establishment and involved staff in the near future. Staff also lie about the incentives offered and do not give what they promise at the beginning. This establishment seems to prioritize its timeshare sales agenda over genuine hospitality, often at the expense of truthfulness. Travelers seeking a great vacation experience might want to look elsewhere to ensure they get the vacation they truly deserve. One last thing, watch out for the surprise fees that may show up on your credit card.TLDR BELOW (THE JUICY DETAILS)After a 3-4 hour tour (promised to be 90 minutes) and despite repeatedly expressing our disinterest in purchasing the timeshare, the persistence of the Timeshare Manager, Jill (who, I believe, mentioned her last name as Kimble), became increasingly unsettling. What began as an assertive sales pitch quickly devolved into an aggressive and personal attack on me in front of the entire room of guests.I attempted to convey my discomfort to Jill, mentioning my mental health challenges, which her demeanor and name-calling exacerbated. She called me "mean," accused me of lying, and hurled so many other derogatory names that I can't recall them all. Rather than showing understanding or compassion, she responded with more accusations, even claiming she had preemptively judged our purchasing intentions upon first sight, asserting she knew I wouldn't purchase a timeshare the moment she saw me.Our situation became a public spectacle, with both Jill and I raising our voices and arguing aggressively, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. Another group present said they had a similar experience. When I asked Jill for permission to leave, having fulfilled our end of the agreement, she responded vindictively. She continued to withhold our incentives claiming she can be here all day and deliberately engaged another group, all the while casting derisive smirks in our direction, clearly attempting to prolong our discomfort.Such blatant disregard for potential clients' feelings and mental well-being is alarming and casts a shadow over the establishment.Oh btw they also lied about the free lunch lol
