I had the opportunity to attend the Windup Watch Fair in San Francisco in 2022, where I was looking to add a bronze watch to my collection. It was there that I met Jonny Garrett, the founder and CEO of William Wood Watches. Jonny shared with me the inspiring story of his grandfather, William Wood, a veteran of the British Fire Service. I was deeply moved by the brand’s unique approach to watchmaking, which incorporates retired firehoses into the straps and 100-year-old brass from firefighter helmets into the crowns.What resonated with me most was not only the innovative design but also the brand’s commitment to giving back to the community. Finely crafted watch, beautiful display, quintessentialy 'British'. Great purchase experience, fast shipping and the best unboxing and presentation of any watch in my collection. Both red and racing green straps with the British racing green dial provide a nice range of expression, very comfortable. Thank you!
The experience just keeps getting better! Following on from my recent review of my purchase of the Triumph Heat watch. At the time of ordering, I also ordered the yellow fire hose strap. When the order arrived it had a fire gear strap included rather than the yellow fire hose. I sent a message offering to return the strap for a replacement and I immediately received a heartfelt apology, was told to keep the gear strap and they would send the yellow strap free of charge! Fantastic customer service and responsiveness. I will definitely be an owner of a second William Wood watch this year. This is a company worth supporting!!!
