Review Time
We were shot at at our Airbnb. The police came called Airbnb safety and security were supposed to call. Haven’t heard from them and it’s been three days. The gentleman was arrested for 11 counts of assault with a daily weapon also using a gun during a violet crime, which he can have the death penalty or life in prison. But Airbnb seems to think that we weren’t any immediate danger. People stay the hell away from Airbnb. They told us to stay put until safety called, which ran our reservation out so now, of course we can’t get any money back after they ruined our entire trip. I do not blame the host. I blame Airbnb for not getting back to us and telling us what we needed to do that we could leave because they told us quite directly do not leave the Airbnb. I would love for someone at Airbnb to reach out to me but of course all you get is people from another country that cannot speak English and they give you the runaround and say but safety has called you nope. We have a voicemail here, but the voicemail says it’s rebooking not safety. Just wish trust pilot would let me put the screenshots in and the video of the gentleman shooting and everything else.
I have been a superhost for 7 years. I mostly have run my airbnb from my personal home room by room as a way to help pay the bills. Because of this model I have had no issues with parties. I have had a few issues with some random individuals but nothing major. Airbnb has been very very helpful to me in this way. However, I recently opened a second home two doors down the street from where i live. Same model room by room not full house. The first booking I get is a dude expecting the whole place to himself for the price of a room. I offered a full refund to the man in order for him to simply leave, he turned it down and said it was fine. I have one long term tenant in one of the rooms so far from another source but nothing else. several days go by and this guest leaves. He didnt respond to any of my messages during the time. His last night there the other tenant who has signed a long term lease asks me if i can talk to them about how late theyve been staying up with their friends and loud music till 3 am. the next morning I go and the whole place is a mess. one of my beds was broken in half, floors damaged etc Since this was a place i was still setting up I unfortunately didnt have my exterior cameras set up yet.The problem with airbnb starts here. On the phone everyone sounds supportive and yes we will help you with costs for damages etc. However on the app. Replies are taking a day or more. They are dismissive and they try to side step responsibility through technicalities that dont apply. For example regarding throwing the party my airbnb support person said "I believe this(the party) is unintentional, and i trust that no guest would want anyone to have a negatvie experience on their stay" and for my damaged floors they tried to make it about foundation shifting and cracking rather than guest damage. It seems the tactic is to try to get me to give up.Airbnb has been very helpful for me. However I am now concerned about the future of my business based on the way they conducted things the moment something went wrong. On one hand i understand too many people probably take advantage and try to get money for random things. On the other I have been a host for a long time with no issues and im being treated like im trying to lie to get money from them.
A 4.9 Host with over 225 Airbnb (and 9.8 on Vrbo with over 250) reviews of my freestanding vacation property, I confirmed a reservation at my chalet located in a recovering Disaster 7-Plus forested area struggling to provide frequent caretaking preps, offered the young engaged couple (she a PAWS supervisor) a free early arrival, said I would email in original formatting Directions and other docs if they provided their email address, and this triggered a series of digital moves from Airbnb that included a long winded threatening email followed by their -- incredibly -- denying both guests and me each other's phone numbers, dangerous and unacceptable given what communjicating THROUGH Airbnb Support is like!Meanwhile their actual services have deteriorated in that their messaging boxes and their calendar and rate adjuster programming are less functional and even buggier than ever.I'm into nearly a decade of providing this .com a stream of income -- tolerating their carousels of "Support" incompetents and their censoring algorithm that blocks the free exchange of information. They do not accept my need as a Host for a permanent record of correspondence with guests carried out in accordance with seasonal circumstances in formats that make communication easy and that do not expose me to people accessing private info then cancelling without penalty in 24 hours. I've raised rates on their platform 70% to make dealing with them even maybe worthwhile.
Host refused to let me check in as I was 58 seconds past the check-in time.Airbnb went to incredible lengths to defend him and ensure I didn't get a penny back. This company is dead to me and everyone else looking at the reviews. This one is dedicated to Ian in London.
I booked an air bnb in Leamington Spa. The hosts name was Pam. She said she couldn’t accept my booking but didn’t leave a reason as to why she couldn’t accept my booking. So I felt maybe it’s because of my race. I couldn’t think of any other reason why my booking wasn’t accepted.
I appealed a guest review that openly mentioned an AirCover compensation claim, which violates Airbnb’s Review Policy. My appeal was closed with a template response saying it didn’t violate content policies. It feels like no one actually reviewed the case. Very disappointing for long-time hosts.
So bussin even my balls experied from riding the whol bed, from this my IQ went up from 67 to 69. Now I can use my cream to be specialised in sea swimming as a a man. I can finaly persue my passion in watching seamen swimming freely on their lake with thier pods sticking out.
I booked a trip VERY early because I was taking and paying for my whole family on a trip to Vancouver and I knew prices would skyrocket. I found an apartment in Marpole which looked lovely. I put a deposit down with Danni on what was a £2,100 stay. 4 months later I got a text from Airbnb saying 'booking cancelled'. I queried it and was told by Danni that Airbnb delisted her property for lack of a document and that she would rectify the issue and reinstate the booking. OK I thought fine. So the next day the listing is back up and Im told I can rebook. Except now the price is £4,300.. I query this, and I'm told that she will offer me a 30% discount and that I can book directly off airbnb if I want to save on fees. I queried back saying Id rather not book off airbnb, and the price is double and why should I pay £800 more for the booking I made because you forgot to submit a document. Her response was this has worked out well for her because all her prebookings were cancelled so theyll all have to be rebooked at a higher price. Wow I thought, so you're you're actually admitting that you're not going to honour anyone's prices at the time of booking, and simply double up on your earnings because of a mistake you made. When asked if I wanted to rebook my view was, well, not if you;re going to do this to me again in six months and make me pay yet another two grand over the odds, so I'll pass thanks. I mentioned that I thought this practice was quite nasty really and she said my reply was rude, that there was no way she'd give me a 50% discount (it's not a discount, it was the rate I paid when I booked first time round) and then she blocked me. The reason for the extra stars is to be fair to Airbnb, after telling me 'thats life' and doing nothing about it, they replied to me again, helped me find a better place in downtown rather than 20 mins away in Marpole, and gave me a cash discount of over £400, in addition to transferring my deposit over, and gave me a rebooking discount of £70. So basically I got a much better place right in the centre of town for my family of five, for about a hundred quid more than the cost of my original booking. So, fingers crossed my new booking actually stays booked, cause it seems hosts can just delist and relist their properties and that automatically cancels all bookings, which then have to be rebooked at the current market value, not what was charged at the time of booking. That's a major floor in the service and something people are going to exploit. Especially in cases where there's an event announced (eg World Cup 2026 in Vancouver) which drives up rates considerably. So basically, don't rely on being able to book a place well in advance, but fair play for the airbnb support team.
