Review Time
I was scared to fly with AirTanzania after I read the negative reviews online. I guess we are compelled to write a review only when the experience is bad? That's why I am sharing my experience. Everything went smooth in my case. No delays, the journey was perfect and the staff welcoming.
PRECISION AIR TANZANIA This is the worst experience I have ever had with a flight company. Instead of leaving at 7pm, the flight got delayed multiple times and then was scheduled for 3am the next day. NO ACCOMODATION OFFERED. We went to the airport and no one could find the flight. Apparently Precision air reschedule dit again to 6:30 am without telling most of the passengers. We all got different information. in the end the flight never showed up and we were told we would get to go on a Kenya Airways flight at 10:10 for free. They "booked us" all in the flight and then Kenya Airways said it was too late and we needed to buy our own tickets if we wanted to board. As Kenya Airways and Precision Airways use the same system, they told us we should make a claim and get a refund after paying nearly one thousand dollars.Long story short, we have still not been refunded for the original cancelled flight. On top of this, they have not accepted our claim for a refund for the flight we needed to buy with their sister airway and said that they will not refund it at all. We have contacted them multiple times and they are holding on to the money from the original cancelled flight as well. They just keep sending us apology PDFs saying "sorry that we can't help you" it's the craziest thing I have ever experienced. They did not pay accommodation, refreshments, another flight OR EVEN REFUND THE ORIGINAL. This is wild. It has been 3 months already and they have stopped answering emails completely.Their response in the apology letter said that we should have had an insurance..... below is a verbatim quote for their apology letter:"It is our utmost regret that we are unable to meet the compensation stated in your email because of the conditions of carriage we have in place and the limited liabilities that airlines have. I am afraid this may be less than what you hoped for. WORST EXPERIENCEBooked Cargo through a freight forwarder to Comoros. They took cargo to Tanzania and abandoned it there, no transfer to Comoros. 10 days later no Explanation , nothing done yet, They dont pick calls and are rude to customers.I wonder how they have survived so long with such poor services.USE AIR TANZANIA at your own risk
Booked a flight with them, which they then canceled and booked us onto a flight arriving into a different airport. I have called 8 times and sent multiple emails, I’ve been told I am entitled to a refund but nobody seems willing to process it and I’ve never had a reply to any of the emails I’ve sent
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR BUY FLIGHTS FROM THEM. My sister bought flight tickets in June 2024 from Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar for our family. We flew with Air Tanzania in July 2024. This April (nearly a year later), an unauthorised payment came out of her bank account. After countless emails, there has been no further action or response. Still £500 down, we are all disgusted by the company’s actions and the way that they treat their customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Absolutely no respect for travellers as human beings! On a 1-hour trip they were firstly late AND reroute us to a different airport because they couldn't manage to be on time. They put us all on a bus for 1.5 hrs that they call "offering us free transport" but no one even telling us where they're taking us! I asked, no one replied to me where they'll drop us. It's pitch black outside... how can I arrange for anyone to pick me if they don't tell me where we're going? No refund, no nothing, they just think I am annoying.
A very bad company This company is a scam , Run for your life if you don’t want to be scammed, they collected money from me to change a ticket date and till now they didn’t change the ticket and never refund me ,a very bad experience and inconvenience they caused me ,Be careful guys ,don’t come close to this company they’re evil .
We bought tickets for a flight from Kilimandjaro to Zanzibar that was supposed to get us to Zanzibar at 9h20 pm.24 hours before our flight, they modify the hour 9h20pm to 00h30 am the next day... We finally arrived at 1h30 am, one hour late and more than 4 hours late compares to the original ticket.I would definitely NOT recommend this Airlines company
Great experience with Tanzania customer services. I would like to thank Shiny in Dubai side and Ishmael South Africa (Johannesburg) side for their help.They are both good listeners and solved my queries in an ammicable way. After a long frustration about check in for my nephews they did come to my rescue.They are both very professional and helpful. For their professionalism definitely will use Tanzania Airlines again.
