Refund never received in 7 months.I requested a refund for my ticket. Air Tanzania promised to return the money within 30 working days. After 4 months they tried to send it in USD, but my bank could not accept the transfer. I gave them new details, yet they never tried again. For 7 months I only received excuses about “accounting review.” Still no refund. Very disappointing and unprofessional.
Avoid flying Air Tanzania at all costs! The most unprofessional, inefficient, unhelpful airline! I flew with a friend to India 2 weeks ago on Air Tanzania. They lost our luggage and it took them 5 days to locate it. We still had to drive to the airport to collect the luggage as it was not delivered to us. I was dealing with a man by the name of Hiklas who told me after after 5 days that he thinks they located the luggage and that it would take a few days to reach us if they were going to deliver otherwise we need to collect from the airport. I explained the urgency and his response was, "well you have waited 5 days for your luggage you can wait a few more days". They were unhelpful, unfriendly and rude during this entire process. We needed to arrange to fetch our own luggage from the airport which cost more time and money. We arrived back in South Africa yesterday and Air Tanzania lost our luggage again. They still have not located it and cannot give any indication as to where it is or when it will arrive.In addition, when I insisted that we receive compensation I was told we need to prove what we spent due to the loss but I explained that we purchased most of what we needed at Indian markets so we don't have all the proof and we were told that we would have a problem with compensation. This service is unacceptable and I will post on every single social media platform about our awful experience so that people can avoid using this airline at all costs.
Scam or joke, you chose!?First the price showed as 203 USD per person, then after choosing it was bumped up to 233 USD, then just before checking out it was further bumped up to 259 USD per person.And no, the price increase was not because the cheap seats were taken by somebody else while I was checking out or anything like that. Because while staying at the checkout page showing 259 USD per person, I went back again in a new tab to check the original price of 203 USD and the first bump to 233 USD. And the scam was perpetrated in the exact same manner the second time.Cheap filthy tactic to lure people in and rip them off. Why can't Air Tanzania just be honest with their pricing, instead of using these disgusting low-life practices.Furthermore, the exact same ticket could be booked at 3rd party sites like Kiwi, Kayak, SkyScanner, etc, for about 225 USD per person without any increases during their checkout processes.It's year 2024, and Air Tanzania is still treating their customers as if we are all stupid idiots. This unfortunately speaks volumes of them as a company and their management.
I had my flight booked for 12:45, with good connections with my previous flight. I was visiting friends at Mwanza for just 2 days, but the flight was "rescheduled" to 7:40 pm. So suddenly my whole planned day was gone. At the airport, I asked if there was a comfortabele lounge to wait for over 10 hours, but they could not provide. So I needed to book a nearby hotel and got back in time around 6pm. They did save my luggage in the meanwhile, which was nice. Online the flight was scheduled ON TIME when I left the hotel. But when I arrived, the plane was again delayed with another 3 hours. They offered no service to spend 10 hours extra on the airport; not even a drink. I had read the airport has 3 lounges, but they said I could not use them. So my 2-days trip to Mwanza now becomes 1 day at best. Such a waste of time and money. I have written an ask for compensation. Hopefully they will respond positive to that.
I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Air Tanzania. My flight was originally scheduled for 20:20, but I received an email notifying me that it was delayed to 20:50. Shortly after, I received a second email pushing the departure time to 01:20 the next day. I ended up waiting at the airport for over 7 hours with absolutely no hotel room or proper accommodations provided.The airline staff were extremely rude, showing no empathy or concern for the passengers who were stuck waiting. We were placed in a lounge with very limited seating, forcing many passengers to stand for hours.Overall, the lack of communication, poor customer service, and complete disregard for passenger comfort made this an awful experience. I would strongly recommend avoiding Air Tanzania.
Die schlechteste Fluglinie!! Worst airline ever, try to avoid if you want to have nice holidays!!! Our flight was cancelled and we are waiting since 11 hours at the Kilimandscharo Airport in Tansania to board our flight to Sansibar. Totally incompetente airline!!!!! The service is inacceptable!

A complete train wreck of an airline. Very unprofessional, they know how to take your money quickly enough but can't return an email or a phone call. Plane had to be changed out so it was late. Check in staff were rude and it looked like the manager or supervisor arrived late. Plane was an old Dash 8 prop which is okay for a one hour flight from JR0 to ZNZ. The landing was more than a little on the hard side judging from the passengers reaction. If it's your absolute last option I would use them again but do everything in your power to avoid if you can.
Haaa...I was very disappointed when I came back from Dubai on the 31st of August 2024. The airport staff in Dubai was the worst. We waited for close to an hour just to get attended to. The queues were not well managed and a group of people kept skipping the line with trolleys full of boxes and noone was there to help coordinate or control the queues. The lack of order was really annoying to say the least. The person who checked us in seemed not to know what exactly she was doing and her supervisor was just hovering around her doing absolutely nothing to expedite the check in process. We had a connecting flight from Dar es Salaam to Harare and the attendant in Dubai failed to give us our connecting boarding passes. More still,our luggage was bundled up under one person,something that caused further delays in Dar es Salaam. I would however like to commend the staff member who assisted us in Dar es Salaam,Joseph Muwowo as he rectified the mistake done and was really quite patient and friendly. The service on the plane was good. The attendants from Dar es Salaam to Harare were especially friendly and helpful and that at least made the experience better.
I used Air Tanzania company 3 times during my trips in Tanzania, 2 times is happened that they cancelled me a flight and moved it at another time.The last time it's happened today 14/08/2024. They moved my flight from Dodoma to Zanzibar from 18:20 pm to 7:30 am, adding a wait of 6 hours in Dar Es Salaam airport.The result was that I lost the whole day and I had to cancel my meeting planned in Dodoma.It is the government company, so it may happen that they change flights to give priority to the travel of members of the government.Better to fly with another tanzanian air company, like Precision Air, that in my experience never changed my flights.
