While Airtasker is a great platform, the fees are far too high, it was great for finding a last minute replacement for someone to replace our usual cleaner, the fees that the cleaner charged us in their price and the fees we also got charged by Airtasker meant that we paid at least double the normal price to get the job done. At the time we had no choice, however if we have more time to find someone, due to high fees I will be looking elsewhere which is unfortunate as these great service providers will miss out.
I feel that Airtasker are getting very greedy with fees. With the amount of people that use the site you could charge alot less and still make alot of money.
Company refuses to answer emails or resolve any issues with them. Flat out just ignores emails and has no contact number. Complete shady business. The fact tht u feel 48 hrs is a acceptable time frame to answer emails is flat out crazy. It doesn't tke anyone 2 days to answer emails. It's actually been four days. Try again. And there goes the 4th day.. don't believe a word they say. Company with holds payments illegally. For the last year been illegally taxing my tips and just ignores me when I bring it up.. complete jack company beware. If there's other options go with them I know I am.. they just contact me back and instead of resolving any issues they rattle off some bs and refuse to answer after tht. Wait 4 days for a one sided answer tht addresses nothing in any of my emails.. complete scam company. If u value time or money stay away from this place they r scammers 100%. I wish there was some way tht I could impress how insulting and disrespectful this company is with ur time and the work tht u do for them. Leave u on hold for days refuses to answer emails. When they do u can bet it won't have anything to do with your email. And when they finally do answer it's a one line email having nothing to do with anything u mentioned and thts it no conversation no back and forth just one line sent and expected to wait another 2 to 4 days for a another answer to the first garbage response. No. Stay away. Liars and thieves 100% this should b shut down. It's a joke of a company. Not even in the usa
I’m v happy with ‘Airtasker’ having used the app recently to book a handyman - Mario’s J (amazing!)- to do some odd jobs for my parents. The interface was quick and easy to use and offers came through quickly and I was able to book the job with less than a day’s notice for a fair price. I’ll def use Airtasker again in future for my household repair/ build needs.
The customer service was disappointing. Payment is being withheld even after the client confirmed the work was satisfactory, and now the client has stopped responding. I had to reach out to the support team. They attempted to contact the client over a four-day period but received no reply. To my surprise, I was sent a dispute form. According to the company’s policy, payment release is expected after four days of no response from the client, provided the tasker has requested payment and submitted proof of task completion and customer satisfaction. There is no indication in the policy that the company should initiate a dispute unless the client has raised concerns about the work. In simple terms, the company cannot initiate a dispute without input from the client. Silence from the client after four days, as stated in the policy, should lead to the release of payment. The customer support team appears to lack proper training and resources.
The service operates smoothly until a problem occurs. Once an issue arises, there's no way to get in touch. No phone support, no live chat, and no responsive assistance. It's been five days since I raised a significant issue. I requested a refund on January 10, but there's been no response, no updates, and no resolution. Both the service provider and I are left in a frustrating situation. The lack of support is unacceptable, especially when a connection fee is charged without any real assistance. When the service fails, and no one is available to help, it’s very disappointing. Update: Six days later, my ticket is still unresolved. However, my review was responded to in under 12 hours. It would be better to focus on enhancing support rather than just managing reviews. A proper support team is essential to effectively address issues.
I think if you're not happy with someone's work, you shouldn't have to pay. However, they insist on payment because the other person spent their time. The interaction between the customer and the worker is not fair, making it feel like a scam. I'm very dissatisfied and caution others.
The introduction of "community guidelines" seems to be a strategy to secure commissions. For instance, when a trader is asked for their company name or license number for tasks that require specific authorization, it is deemed a violation by the platform. The reasoning is clear; if such inquiries are permitted, providers and suppliers might finalize deals offline, causing the platform to miss out on its substantial 20% commission. If you're not allowing these essential questions, why would anyone choose your service? Why not verify traders adequately and inform us about their valid licenses for the work they perform? If you can't do this, what value do you provide while taking such a high commission? Ultimately, deals will happen offline if you can't systematically confirm a trader's credibility. By preventing users from verifying this information on your platform, you are simply losing business. I could claim to launch rockets in my profile, and it seems the platform would let me do that without question. 😃😃😃
Steer clear of this site; they request extensive personal details and offer no real customer support. They've resorted to using bots and AI since the pandemic to post fraudulent job listings that lead nowhere. The effort isn’t worth it. It seems like a site that collects your information for their database. Don't trust the inflated approval rating; it’s misleading. When you receive automated responses starting with 'We are sorry blah, blah,' know that there’s no genuine assistance from a human.
It's functional for straightforward tasks but falls short with more complicated ones. I encountered a problem and required assistance to evaluate it and recommend the best solution, followed by the actual repair. I was unsure of the optimal fix and, consequently, the right price. It seems you cannot get someone to assess the work without committing to a budget beforehand.
It's advisable to avoid this platform for both taskers and customers. The business model mainly benefits the service provider, with many jobs coming from clients with limited budgets who are unwilling to pay fairly for quality work. This leads to subpar results and individuals mishandling property. For instance, in a $100 job, the tasker receives $78 while the customer pays $149.99, and the platform takes $72. Customers believe they are paying a premium, but there's no insurance to protect them. Taskers face high fees until they reach a certain earning threshold. Many overlook these details and focus only on convenience. Instead, it's better to contact a company or tradesperson directly and check their reviews. The platform does not ensure that workers are qualified for tasks, and there are no verification checks, which could lead to potential losses.
