Review Time
Refund Approved but Not Fully Processed
I am sharing my experience regarding a refund issue with American Airlines.
After escalating my case, a refund was approved. However, during processing, incorrect tickets and incorrect transaction references were refunded multiple times. This resulted in only a partial refund being issued.
An outstanding balance of $1,699 remains unpaid.
This is not a dispute about eligibility. The refund was confirmed. The issue relates to internal processing errors during execution.
I remain open to resolution and correction of the remaining balance.
I was flying from JFK New York to Sky Harbor Intl. Airport Phoenix on AA Flight 636 on the evening of 2/25/2026. While in flight and waiting for use of the restroom, I temporarily lost consciousness, passed out and fell on the floor. The in-flight crew members of American were very quick to come to my assistance and bring help from fellow passengers one of them was a doctor. They notified my wife(who was with me) immediately and got all my medical information. They also declared a medical emergency and made room for both myself and my wife to be comfortable even though it was a packed flight. They also notified the EMT team at Phoenix Airport to be ready to receive me and provide any medical assistance. I do not know the names of the flight crew members and the pilots, but they were all like god sent angels in my moment of crisis. This special Thank you and appreciation is for all the AA staff that were assigned to flight 636 flying from JFK New York to Phoenix, AZ SKY Harbor Airport in the evening of February 25, 2026. The doctor who treated me was, if I remember correctly named Tamala. She was great in checking my condition and making sure that I was getting propert treatment. This review is also to express my sincere gratitude to doctor Tamala.Last but not least all the pasengers of the flight treated us like family members including the feloow passenger who was sitting on seat 30D on that evening. What a perfect gentleman! American Airline Passenger sitting on Seat 30E on flight AA 636 flying from JFK, NY to SKH International Airport in Phoenix on 2/25/2026.
AA is Worse than Spirit AirlinesAfter dropping my daughter off at college Ohio I needed to take a flight back to Manchester NH with a connection @ Reagan Washington. After we pushed off the gate, we were told that there was a delay for me in traffic control and we need to sit on the tarmac for 40 minutes, no fault of American Airlines. When we landed, we needed to wait again for 40 minutes for a gate to come available. After finally getting to the gate, the flight crew made us wait 15 minutes while they unloaded the plane before opening the door. When the door finally opened I ran to my next flight and got there at exactly 10:01, but they already pushed the plane back that was scheduled to takeoff at 10:15. It seems they couldn't wait for the plane that their crew delayed a couple minutes. When I asked them if I could get a voucher for a hotel, they said it was blamed on traffic control and therefore they could not give a voucher to me and another gentleman that was traveling... I started flying American Airlines about 10 years ago. I met my husband on a American Airlines flight. He is the love of my life and we are still married. I fly them about 40 times per year. The flights are always on time, the price is right and I like the extra leg room. The food is not too bad either. I always enjoy the free chocolate!
My daughter was flying home to Florida this morning from Albany NY. Arrived about 4am for 6am flight. AA was not prepared for the holiday travelers in an airport undergoing renovations. The bag check line was excessively long, in a very congested area, and intertwined with the TSA line. Little to no direction occurred, no sense of urgency was noted, and many people were left with virtually no chance of making their respective flights. Daughter made decision to forego the checking of her bag, as she could not afford to wait in the bag check line and then get into an excessively long TSA Pre-check line and still expect to board her plane on time. Consequently, I will need to find alternative methods to get her luggage to Florida. Other airlines did not have any apparent issues and AA's lack of organization, perhaps lack of staffing, etc. was causing a lot of problems for their customers as well as other travelers. ZERO STARS should be an option.
You can expect your flight to be delayed by an hour to three hours, that’s just common knowledge. What we didn’t expect was that they would change our seats, so we were no longer sitting together, just because we didn’t book together. The planes are outdated. No screens, tight space, and they hand you crackers.United has updated planes with screens and your choice of snacks. American has the audacity to charge the same price. I genuinely hope they go out of business, because they’re out of touch and don’t deserve to survive.
Recently, my wife’s flight from JKK to Miami was delayed by about 3 hours due to reasons unknown to me.I emailed American Airlines customer relations regarding the inconvenience this delay caused my wife and they promptly responded with a heartfelt apology and in a very kind gesture they added 5,000 Aadvantage miles to my wife’s account.Thank you, American Airlines
I’m giving one star because I can’t give less. I flew this morning on a direct flight from Toronto to NYC. The woman who was checking the bags was disrespectful, rude, and arrogant. Terrible service — they make things harder for customers with their bad attitude, even risking people missing their flights.
I would like to thank Luis Carlos the most amazing cabin crew member in the world! Our flight from Birmingham to Charlotte was delayed and nothing was too much for him. He went over and beyond for every single passenger. If only the world had more people like Luis Carlos it would be a much better place!
The worst experience I have ever dealt with. Plane delayed in St. Lucia four hours solo traveler. Have to get a connecting flight to Miami cannot make it. Four different phone calls. I finally got a rep that explained that I have to jump through all these hoops now. I won’t arrive in Miami until 9 o’clock then I have to go through two hours of customs. Then I have to go to AA customer relations desk. I have to get them get a new boarding pass that they have to find me a hotel hopefully then find a hotel with the shuttle. So I will get some hotel at 2 AM. I then have to get four hours. Sleep and catch a flight back at 8:30 AM. The fact I spoke to five different reps was told incorrect information on all of them until the last one. The 4th rep the gentleman hung up on me. I will never fly American ever anywhere again. This whole or deal has been absolutely disgusting and the customer service is terrible and the fact that you cannot get a new digital boarding pass I have to go to the customer relations desk to get it is archaic. American Airlines customer service awful is that I don’t know what they’re doing and that I have to go through all these hoops due to mechanical issues is Ludacris and then im a solo passenger woman with 67 actually deal with this crap. I’ll be lucky if I get to the hotel at 2 AM I can’t even guarantee. I’ll even get a hotel and I’ll tell you right now. If I don’t get a hotel tonight there’s gonna be hell to pay. Never again.
