Rude and unprofessional Property management surbiton branch. Keep disturbing the tenants for the property issue. But for case that the tenant need urgent for help ( like no water flushing and they just delay to response). Will file official complaint and avoid renting the property managed by Bernard Marcus. Extremely disappointing Experience.
Really great experience buying our home with Dorking brancj: Bernice Tully was fantastic - found us a mortgage which was truly life changing and made the impossible, possible. Emma Cronk was also super efficient, helpful and managed everything so well that it really took the stress out of it. Hugest thanks from us
This review is specifically about Daniel Sieh at the Earls Court/West Brompton branch. I toured the flat in January and asked him directly if there had ever been any mold issues. He looked me in the eye and said, word for word: "No, nothing like that. We have managed this property for years and have had no reported issues or awareness of mold. We would know about any problems as we manage it."That was completely false. We've since learned from previous tenants that there were serious mold issues, particularly around the living room windows and bathrooms. They had to treat and repaint with mold-resistant paint twice. So he lied to my face. This was just one of many problems we've had with this agency. The entire experience has been disorganized, poorly managed, and dishonest. Their letting agents seem only interested in making a sale, regardless of the truth. Do not rent through them. It has been a nightmare.
What a bunch of cowboys. Listed with Barnard Marcus, Epsom, who brought round the Chinese 'buyers', and then stopped marketing it. The Chinese 'buyers' made no offer and were complete timewasters. I agreed to use IAMSOLD to auction it, and they did no marketing either, and when I gave them notice, they pressured me to sell at auction, with only one bidder! That would be a sale not an auction - doh! I gave notice to Barnard Marcus, and not only do they not have the decency to take our property off the market, they refuse to even discuss it.There are no complaints procedures, as with all sequence home companies, so all of the group have dreadful feedback. My opinion is that they are amoral, utterly disreputable cowboys, with no intention of selling any properties, and the sooner they go bust, the better.
Very little feedback after viewings, had to show people around mysel at they wanted to view at 5pm on a Saturday and the BM team finnish at 4-30pm, also one time 5 mins before viewing BM phoned me and asked me to show the people aroud as the member of their team who was doing the viewing had gone home as he was feeling un well, there'as more but I won'r go in to that, from start to finnish not very professsinoal at all, in the end we told them to take our property off their listings.
Our experience with this estate agency was incredibly disappointing. From the outset, there was a lack of communication, no transparency, and zero initiative taken to support us during the home-selling process. We had to follow up constantly, as our messages and calls often went unanswered. After we accepted an offer, we expected some guidance and proactive management—but there was none. The agent made no effort to progress the sale or engage meaningfully with the buyer and the buyer’s solicitor, leaving us to manage the situation ourselves with little information on what was going on.After seven months of delays and zero responsiveness or accountability on key issues by the agency, the sale ultimately collapsed. Shockingly, even then, the agent offered no explanation, apology, or acknowledgment of their role in the negative outcome. We’ve never experienced such unprofessionalism and would strongly advise others to avoid this agency if you’re looking for a trustworthy and responsive service.
COVENT GARDEN BRANCH - Jake was exceptional throughout the selling process which wasn't an easy one at all. He was always proactive, professional and a pleasure to deal with. Francesca stepped with equal professionalism on the occasions that Jake was not in the office. Thank you guys. S&B
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Barnard Marcus, specifically their Wallington branch, and feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction with the level of service provided. The most concerning aspect of this experience involved Mark, the lettings manager. My daughter provided all the necessary details about her circumstances, including her strong financial position (offering to pay 6+ months’ rent upfront), the backing of a qualifying guarantor, and a reliable family background. We also outlined her long-term housing plans, emphasising her preference for renting over securing a mortgage due to her personal ethos. This demonstrated her commitment to stability and her suitability as a reliable tenant.Despite these facts, Mark failed to effectively present her profile as a credible, financially solid, and reliable tenant to the landlord. This oversight was both unreasonable and deeply disappointing, as it is a fundamental role of an agent to advocate for strong tenant applications and facilitate a thorough discussion with the landlord.Landlords rely on agencies to guide them in selecting tenants for their properties, trusting that they will receive professional and informed advice. The failure to deliver such a basic service raises the question of why landlords would engage an agency if their role in representing tenants is so poorly executed. If agents cannot provide this level of support and insight, landlords may as well handle tenant selection themselves without paying for agency representation. This experience has revealed a concerning lack of professionalism and competence in handling what should have been a straightforward process. It is disappointing to see such a lapse in service from an established agency like Barnard Marcus, whose reputation should be built on trust, expertise, and delivering value to both landlords and tenants.I hope this feedback encourages the branch to reassess their approach to tenant applications and landlord communication to ensure such situations are avoided in the future. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to recommend Barnard Marcus to others.
Don't trust anyone from Barnard Marcus. What they say to you will be very different to the reality. They blamed the tenant (to the landlord concerned) for not giving access to the property for sales viewings; when the reality was their inability to find prospective buyers. They would ring the tenant again and again asking to view the property in 2 hours knowing that was usually unacceptable to most people. And when the tenant said come tomorrow and not in 2 hours, Barnard Marcus said no as there weren't any prospective buyers at all. Do not trust Barnard Marcus.
