I went into Brown Thomas today in Cork with my grandmother and my cousin. I wanted to show them the foundation I wanted for my upcoming 19th birthday. A lady working there comes over and asks do I need any help, I let her know I am interested in this foundation, and she then proceeds to tell me that, that foundation is a really good choice especially because I’m “pregnant” and it’s really soft on the skin. I was shocked and embarrassed as I am not pregnant and could not believe she had assumed that. I was so upset, as I am already self conscious over my weight, and I just did not need to hear that. We reported it to a lovely, kind lady named Niamh and she was extremely helpful. She went down and she spoke to the lady and let us know that she was going to take action. She was so kind and helpful and she really made me feel so much better. As we were leaving, we looked over and the same rude lady was staring at me and chatting to a co worker, which I assume was about me. Overall, I am really upset about my experience here today besides from Niamh. The unnecessary assumption from this Lady wasn’t acceptable in any way.Another thing I would like to add is that foundation, and makeup in general has absolutely no correlation with being pregnant and the comment wasn’t helpful in any way. Just completely harmful & unnecessary. I truly hope accountability is taken and this woman doesn’t make anymore harmful assumptions like that ever again.
I visited Brown Thomas Limerick and I have to express my gratitude and how impressed I was at the amazing service I received. I visited the Bottom Drawer and was so well advised and understood by the manager Sharon. It was a wonderful experience, what a talented sales pitch and I’m so happy with my purchases. Thank you very much. Deirdre from Sligo
I ordered a sweatshirt online from Brown Thomas online website. Delivery was fulfilled by Arnotts. When I opened the package, the garment was clearly soiled with makeup on both the outside and inside of the neck of the garment. Packer must have seen this when folding for packing. I am now required to pay 4.95 to return the garment, in addition to having to wait for a refund. I would not shop online with Brown Thomas or Arnotts again. Definitely gone down in quality of customer service, in my opinion. I have requested an immediate refund including refund of the return postage.
I went in to buy Nespresso Pods, and the guy I was dealing with was so warm and welcoming. He was very professional and dealt with me accordingly. His name is Roake and definitely a down to earth guy,He was very respectful and made it a lovely experience for me.
Ordered a present for my daughter and absentmindedly gave wrong eircode. After an unsuccessful request to redirect parcel with An Post, I contacted Brown Thomas. Their representative (Conor) was extremely helpful. He did everything in his power to locate my parcel and when this failed he sent me a new order. Incredibly impressive. Well done BT!
Attempted to return a dress as it did not fit. Was advised by the cashier to call back another day as the manager of the concession was not available. I explained no. I needed to return today. She spent about 15 minutes trying to find someone who eventually came over and asked would I take an exchange. Shocking. I explained I would prefer a refund please. She then had to call another lady who asked me to go to another till who never spoke would rather gave me my refund in mainly coin. All in all a simple transaction took about half an hour with all but no service. I would be slow to purchase from their fashion floor again. Service is so poor.
