I purchased a brand new 2022 Sea-Doo RXT-X 300 expecting reliability from a premium brand.
After only 42 hours of use, the engine failed.
This is not normal wear — this is a failure that strongly suggests a defect.
Despite this, Sea-Doo declined to provide any goodwill support, stating:
“Sea-Doo has officially declined to provide goodwill in this case.”
No meaningful investigation.
No accountability.
No effort to support a customer facing a major failure on a nearly new unit.
Instead, I was left dealing with:
• A failed engine at 42 hours
• A dealership pushing expensive repairs
• An insurance company denying the claim
For a premium brand, this response is unacceptable.
When a product fails this early, customers expect the manufacturer to stand behind it.
In this case, that did not happen.

Sea-Doo 2022 Fish Pro Trophy 170 B.E.S.T. Warranty is the WORSTMy steering harness needed to be replaced. Ski would not start. The dealer told me there was no sign of any problem on the outside of the harness. I had purchased the extended warranty that ran through June 2026. BRP said the harness was not covered under the warranty. I would definitely recommend NOT buying any BRP warranty. Save the money for future repairs.
Bought a 2024 Seadoo Switch. Nothing but issues with performance, jet alignment and steering from day one. Went back and forth between dealership and BRP for 5 months essentially couldn't use the boat. BRP was HORRIBLE at communicating testing steps with the dealership. At one point they advised the dealership to return the boat to me as there was noting wrong (despite the boat maxing out at 30kph when the average one does 70kph). After 5 months the dealership tech found the supercharger hose was not tightened from the factory. 5 second fix. All summer unable to use a $55,000 purchase. After MONTHS of fighting with this, all BRP offered for this was the warranty time back that it sat in the shop for. William Gilbert from BRP made it clear he was the "first and last" point of contact for me as he was "as high as it gets" with BRP. He also advised that if I wanted to trade the boat in he would work with the dealership and the trade in difference (with 10 hours on the boat most of that testing) would be around $17,000. So with 10 hours on a BRP product they are saying it depreciates 30%. PLEASE PLEASE do not buy from BRP ! They DO NOT stand behind their product. I will be sharing this story with every review and social media account I can to ensure no one else goes through this with BRP.
These boats are trash. Here is why.... I bought the Switch Cruise and it has been nothing but problems. Its had an engine recall because the engine was taking on water. Followed up by a recall where they caulked the front of the boat out of fear of it sinking (looks terrible). Followed up by the boat almost sinking with my entire family and 9 month pregnant wife 2 miles off shore. My two year old boat has been in the shop for 6 months now... after nearly sinking with my family onboard they found that a seal in the boat went bad and the hull takes on water. They are requiring for the use of a crane to split the boat in half and fix the seal. Its an enormous repair that the dealer feels they cannot do and BRP refuses to work with me to find a resolution. So there my boat sits, with only 25 hours on it, and 2 years of use, completely junk, and BRP unwilling to resolve the issue. DO NOT BUY!
I bought a evinrude g2 300 hp with 10 years warranty in 2018This engine has had problems since day oneI have lost the last 3 seasons due to engine failure going back and forth to the dealership doing a 60 miles round trip every time,The dealership in Hayling island(uk) is not interested in warranty work due to being dumped by Brp,The final straw came when we my wife and myself went out on the Solent testing last May, again after repairs being done and after 20 minutes running we had total power loss,Now drifting near a main shipping lane( cruise and container ships) we were towed in to safety after an hour,The dealer has just repaired it this week from having it since the 1st week of May 2025I asked the question to the dealer would you put this engine on your boat and there answer was NO!Brp customer care is actually so atrocious it’s unbelievable (Samuel Poulin)They offered me compensation of €1300 to only to be spent on Brp products(what a joke)Not interested in there product that is not fit for purpose after 7 years with 3 years remaining on the warranty All they do is totally mess you around sending emails with not actually addressing the problemsBrp you should be ashamed of yourself
Experience was bad I bought 2 units x3 no issues maverick r had transmission issues after the first 2moths of riding mind u only used on weekends & sat at the dealership getting fixed for over 8 months & all the can tell me is they escalated my case but don’t call me about a resolution for over8 months don’t recommend these units anymore but Rzr
If I could give them a 0 in a review I would shit product know adays bought a 2023 outlander all brakes failed after 150 hours and yes I did check and lubricant at 100 hours like it says in the manual front caliper was toast so I open a warranty case and got denied like what are warrantys for if you can't use it I will never buy from BRP again be careful on your newer units alot of the new stuff is junk stay away BRP likes to take money from the little man
I am leaving a review here on a seadoo jetski I bought brand new 2024 and want to say stay away do yourself a favor and buy a Yamaha I had Yamahas for years this year I decided to buy a seadoo big mistake I have only 15hrs on it first incident I got stuck in the middle of the water with a dead battery only 5 hrs on it and the biggest problem is I found spider cracks in the upper hull with only 15 hrs on it showed my dealer and they and opened a warranty claim which I was denied by BRP they said it was banged and not a defect I did not even tap this machine I even use bumpers at the gas dock and they are kept on floating slips during the season I went to my insurance company and they would not cover it saying it was a manufacturing defect and I should also add it's not on the side of the fuel fill they do not stand by thier products and now I have to fix it out of my pocket to sell because I am going back to Yamaha which for years i never had any problems lessond learned if your thinking about buying a seadoo don't do it buy Yamaha
I would never purchase another BRP product, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. Their customer service has been the worst I’ve ever experienced, with no genuine interest in making things right. I understand that products can be defective, but the real issue is how a company handles it—and BRP has completely failed.I purchased a brand new Sea-Doo jetski, and it has been sitting at their authorized dealer for over a year. During this time, I have never been able to ride the unit. Despite the ongoing issues and constant delays, BRP has done nothing to resolve the situation. Meanwhile, I purchased a Kawasaki jetski at the same time, and it has been flawless—no issues whatsoever. If you're considering buying from BRP, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This company has no respect for their customers' time, money, or experience.
