Review Time
I used Buycycle for the first time ever to purchase a gravel bike (also a first for me). The process was super smooth! I know some of that will depend on the seller - but it was great to get updates for things like shipping, have buyer protections, etc. I absolutely would use again and am considering selling on Buycycle as well.
Very simple and easy to use app…some nav changes would help. Step by step process is very well executed and simple to follow. The shipping box was missing a couple of cardboard pieces and the instructions didn’t show the same pieces in which to ship with. Might update that as well. Also the instructions make no mention of using shipping tape to secure the container and label. Easy to figure out but the instructions should reflect this for people that are not familiar with shipping large items. Definitely going to use Buycycle again.
I sold a bike on their website on November 23rd. At each sale they send you their box to perform the service. The box was never sent to me, so the collection of the bike scheduled for December 2 was cancelled. After I sent numerous requests to customer service, they replied saying that I could use my box. I went looking for this box (big for a bike so untraceable) and I sent the bike with a new pick-up programmed by the courier. At the time of shipment the package suffered delays every day. When it finally arrived on December 19, it arrived in bad shape and in very bad condition. The buyer also complained about the damage and I lost more money on top of the sale. Personally I'm disappointed for the bad service and for the damage they caused me!
I purchased a bike via this website which had status "good" on the website of buycycle. Good is descibed (on the website of buycycle) as "The bike shows visual signs of regular use, such as noticeable scuffs or scratches, but has no structural damage. All components are operational, though some wear-and-tear parts (e.g. tires, brake pads, or chain) might need adjustment or replacement soon for optimal performance." However, when we received the bike, the bike was not even operational. We were not able to ride the bike due to the status we received it in! Buycycle claims that components need to be replaced after the purchase despite the fact that the status of the bike mentions something else, more specific "for optimal performance". I've reported the issues with the bike immediately towards Buycycle the same day, together with movies and pictures. We've even proposed to sent the bike back to the seller on our expense... without any luck since the seller mentioned that it "only took 5mins to fix the bike".... Well guess what, we have been to a bike shop (you don't need to be a bike technician to ride a bike) for regulating the gear box, but the state of the gear box but the status is that bad that it is not possible regulate it in a way that you can ride the bike without the chain constantly switching back gears... Despite the fact that the status of the bike is mentioned as "good" (Don't even want to know what you get when the state is bad) and that for OPTIMAL performance you need to replace parts, we are not to be able to use the bike... Besides the status, the pictures, taken by the seller were done in a way that the flaws on the bike were "tactically hidden", the missing teeth on the front gear were "hidden" under the chain so that you are unable to see it on the picture...As a last hope, we contacted a consumer protection group in Belgium. At first we received feedback from Buycycle but Buycycle doesn't even have the decency to respond to latest mails sent by the consumer protection group.Buycycle protects the sellers... not the buyers. As a last point, during one of my last mails I mentioned that I would leave a negative review... The claims team mentions literally: "Lastly, I kindly request that you do not share your experience with your network. You're of course entitled to, but I'm the one that replies to all public comments about claims, and I'd be happy to clarify the circumstances there as well."..... Keep in mind that I have a lot of communication available supporting me in the bad support you gave....
