They have been replacing the gas pipes…

They have been replacing the gas pipes in our street for 3 weeks now. Access to our property has been very restrictive. As a consequence my wife who runs her business from home (holistic therapies) had to cancel all her clients. We have been told there is a claim form to fill and to ring or e-mail certain numbers.no replies from numerous emails,all the phone numbers deny it's their responsibilities, even given some numbers that don't exist. What a shoddy useless service, I suppose we will get the standard reply to this rating.

Cadent has been brilliant in dealing with a gas leak, all staff were professional, friendly and the company has been very generous and helpful. I can't fault them.

Excellent service

Excellent service. I called them out recently because I smelt gas early in the morning. They turned up within the hour and were extremely pleasant and reassuring. Did a thorough check on my meter, boiler and gas fire. I did not know that British Gas sent sub contractors out.I would definitely recommend them.

We have recently had has pipes…

We have recently had pipes replaced, beforehand we had an engineer assess our drive and marked with bright red spray paint where the pipes were under our block paving driveway. All works complete, all workers now gone but when questioned cadent on when, are they going to remove the spray paint on my expensive drive they simply said it would fade in time! That is not acceptable. Other than this issue, street looks a right mess, patchy tarmacked areas that's not even level and mass residue left over. Poor service

Practically run off the road by a…

Practically run off the road by a Cadent Gas van driver as he undertook me at speed exceeding the road limit . Reported and promised a response but weeks later nothing. Obviously responding to complaints is not a strength.

Very impressed

Very impressed. The engineer (Chris) attended within the hour, as promised and sorted out the leak efficiently. He was very professional - I was impressed. He was reassuring (I was in a bit of a panic) and explained everything necessary to me. He was patient and friendly. He eventually had to fit a new meter and did so with the minimum of fuss. Thanks, Chris.

I am having an air source heat pump…

I am having an air source heat pump installed in September. Once my old gas boiler is gone, I will have no use for the gas supply. Unfortunately, the gas meter sits on top of a metre high steel pipe in the corner of a brick lean-to that is going to be demolished. My energy supplier, OVO, will remove the meter and cap off the top of the steel pipe, but to get the steel pipe removed, I need Cadent. I was planning to break up the concrete pad under the old lean-to and dig the trench necessary to expose the place where the gas pipe to the lean-to joins the main, which runs across several back gardens. Even with me doing all this work, Cadent are still quoting £1700 to disconnect the pipe. Completely outrageous and daylight robbery. Good luck with getting everyone to switch to renewable energy! Electricity North West are only charging £750 to re-route my electric and they are de-looping my neighbour at the same time at no charge to me. Why is it three times as much to disconnect the gas?

Cadent Gas Emergency Service: SUPERB

Cadent Gas Emergency Service. I cannot thank Cadent enough for coming out to my friend within the hour, to check the Gas Pressure on her meter. He found there was an off-the-scale leak, which eventually turned out to be behind the gas fire. His name is Anthony and he was so kind to this lady who is 80. He insisted she take up his offer of a small electric ring so that she could still do some cooking. This is a marvellous service. I have already called in and left a Compliment Form by phone. Thank goodness this Emergency Helpline is so efficient. THANK YOU to Anthony and the Cadent Emergency Call Centre staff.

Cadent gas were amazing when my…

Cadent gas were amazing when my monoxide alarm went off. Somebody was out within 20 minutes and the service from Shaun Hudson was great - polite, prompt and a really thorough job. Also special thanks to Glynn Grace for the after care call. He organise for us to get food vouchers as I’m pregnant, In case our gas couldn’t be turned on for another 2 days.

Further to an appealing experience with…

Further to an appealing experience with Cadent making a total mess of the road and driveway.m, they have now repositioned my meter so that it blocks the electricity meter. Not only shoddy workmanship but also contrary to regulations. I have spent hours on the phone each time having to explain the problem. One of their guys actuslly lhinrs back witch an aggressive attitude and said they hadn’t moved the meter and did I have photographic evidence of where I claimed it was originally. !!Not only totally out of order but yeah, who takes photos of their meter cupboard. The attitude is beyond belief. I have had my supplier Shell Energy call who were speechless at what Cadent had done and said it was dangerous. Getting Cadent to admit to their shoddy workmanship is almost impossible They just close ranks. I have no idea why this company is permitted to operate. One star because I could not give zero.
