Missing ecv handle

We were going have a smart meter fitted but the fitter said we needed to move our box and required a new ecv handle before he could do the job. He said he would contact cadent who were responsible for the work. Within the hour Andreas employee no 50014422arrived, he assessed the job and said that he would not just leave a handle, that it was wise to replace the old parts for new. He completed the work and checked everything was in working order. Andreas was very professional, pleasant and knowledgeable a real credit to his company.

Your team are currently working in our area , Kennel Ride, Ascot SL5. We just wanted to say how amazing they are despite the difficulties of working in a narrow, residential road with busy through traffic. They work with curtesy and efficiency obviously aware of the disruption for all the residents.As we are elderly and my husband is disabled, we particularly appreciate their thoughtful help in accessing our drive and keeping us advised of progress. As the major work involved is of great benefit to everyone, we are very grateful for all that they are doing.As often people seem very unaware of all the effort made by the skilled workmen in difficult circumstances we just wanted to say thank you.

I cannot thank Cadent enough for their speedy response and efficiency. Our engineer was thorough, polite, explained our problem, sorted it and offered further advice. He is well deserving of my 5 ⭐ rating.

Criminal Damage

Criminal Damage! Cadent's contractors Murray Utilities have just removed a large hedge from our property without permission giving free access to our garden whilst upgrading a neighbour's gas supply.Given the damage done I have refused access to our property for a similar upgrade until it is resolved and was told they will simply cut off our gas supply.Should I call the police?Help - hoping someone from Cadent reads this.

I am very worried about Cadent coming…

I am very worried about Cadent coming to do work at my house but I have no choice. I recently moved and my house had an extension added a couple of years previously. Cadent should have dealt with the previous owner, but I received letters saying that I would need my gas meter resited outside as it’s current location is dangerous (? Under the stairs -really?) . I was to expect a visit. Nothing happened so I called Cadent and someone came very promptly to look at the job. We arranged a date for the meter relocation. I was told that Cadent would site the pipes wherever they could but that I couldn’t be choosy as it’s a free service. This is not a service, it is (apparently) a government requirement. On the appointed date no one turned up and I was told it was because they hadn’t spoken to my neighbour with whom I share the gas pipe. I had taken the day off work so was not happy. I then had a letter to say I hadn’t been in touch and they would seek legal proceedings if I didn’t contact Cadent. I spoke to my neighbour who said no one had been in touch with him. Finally arranged for the same person to come out, speak to my neighbour and tell me almost exactly what he had said previously, emphasising again the free service and that pipe location was non negotiable. Today I am expecting the surveyor for Cadent. I can only hope there is more common sense in this employee. If I had the choice, I wouldn’t have anything done. I don’t want disruption and damage and am worried they will leave my property in a state that requires expense to rectify. I’m writing this because I have had absolutely no reassurance that the job will be done professionally and sensitively and that with no competitors, Cadent are taking their customers for a ride.

Amazing!

Nothing but gratitude towards this company and some of the rules that we have in this country. After all I don’t believe there are many countries where there is an emergency gas line that come out and ensure your safe. We had our suspended floor removed and had exposed a cast iron pipe which I could smell gas! I was panicking and worried for my family. One phone call and an engineer was sent over within the 1hr who confirmed it was a dead pipe and that it was the residual smells. Still felt uncomfortable with an exposed pipe so they sent another team with a few hours (it was not an emergency as the pipe was not live) to come and cap it. Amazing, fast, efficient and massive thank you for enabling us to sleep at night in peace.

Cadent renewed the gas pipes in my road…

Cadent renewed the gas pipes in my road in October 2021. In the process they destroyed the gas verges in some areas leaving a muddy mess. They promised to reinstate the verges as found but despite many calls etc here we are 4 months later still not reinstated. They just ignore complaints and think just throwing a hand full of grass seed on a muddy mess is sufficient. If they are in your area dont put up with their shoddy work.
