A truly disgraceful company. I have worked in the utility industry for a 15 years and have never known a more careless company than Cadent. It is clear that they only care about profit. Every employee I have spoken to is undervalued, overworked and underpaid. Safety takes a back seat when money can be made for the CEO. Capitalist fat cats should not be in charge of an emergency service!
I can't praise Cadent's guys enough. They were called by my boiler engineer who identified an issue with the gas pressure coming into my house. Within less than an hour, a chap arrived to test the system and, having identified the problem, explained what would happen next. The emergency team then arrived soon after to locate the specific area and work out a plan of action. As my gas needs to be kept off until tomorrow morning when the work will be carried out (it involves digging up outside and installing new copper pipes) I was left with heaters, a hot plate and vouchers for food. Every single employee (I think I met 5 in total!) was courteous, polite and informative. I have no doubt the work will be carried out on time and with minimum disruption tomorrow. Cadent, your engineers are an absolute asset to you.
I am writing to acknowledge and praise the work of your team who are replacing gas pipes in our area. Without exception, each member of the team that I have had contact with has been efficient and extremely courteous. One worker took time to explain the process of excavating to check pipelines and what would happen next. I was concerned about possible damage to our newish driveway but I was assured that all excavations would be repaired and within a timescale. All works were made good and you would never know that the block paving had been disturbed - and within the advised timescale. You should be rightly proud of your workforce. I had a leak last Friday night and the 1st engineer couldn’t fix the issue for some reason. He isolated the gas and told me someone would come with a heater. The engineer who turned up with the heater was lovely , he asked what the issue was and came in to have a look. He said he could fix the problem (cutting an old fireplace pipe and capping it). He fixed the issue within 5 minutes and also saved me a weekend call out charge with a heating company. Also it was cold so he wanted to ensure I had heating that night. Thought I could smell gas this evening when I arrived home this evening. Called Cadent within less the 30 mins gas engineer arrived extremely helpful and pleasant. Checked everything and next door house as we are joined . I mentioned that the engineers had been working on a footpath not far from here but all the safety barriers had blown down I did report it earlier. I tried to stand some of them up myself to make it safer . While he was waiting to check everything again once the gas was turned on . He took the time out make safe all the barriers on the footpath. So thank you brilliant job !
My experience with Cadent has been very good and then very bad. I have called them because there was a smell of gas. The call has been taken straight away and the engineer attended almost immediately. He found a gas leak not in my premises but just outside under the pavement. He advise they needed to cut off the gas supply and dig the pavement out to repair the pipe. So far everything was great and the engineer was very professional and friendly and kept me updated step by step. The problem became when the second crew arrived to carry out the work. An arrogant engineer expecting you to be there and then every time he needs, to let them in and out. Saying they will come early morning to work on the road and arriving at 9:30 demanding to have access when I had to go to work. And this is 2 days after the gas has been cut off. Not even an apology that we didn’t have gas, hot water, heating, cooker for that long. They need a big training in customer service
I made a call to Cadent letting them know I could smell gas during a house renovation. I called the line it was answered within 5 second and within 30 minutes someone was at my house. Furthermore Jamie was the most helpful guy we could ask for going above and beyond to help us fix the issue and make sure we didn’t have to compromise with our new kitchen.Great customer service from beginning to end!
I contacted cadent regarding roadworks on Turners Hill in Cheshunt the gas repair was done earlier in the week the temporary traffic lights are still there Why does it take so long for them to backfill a hole and re-tarmac surely a week of traffic chaos pollution and pedestrians annoyance is enough???!!!
Gas pipes were being renewed in a cul de sac behind our property, the pipes for this road run under an alleyway adjacent to our property. Whilst we expected some disruption we did not expect ours and our families health and safety to be put at risk and our property damaged. Various barriers that were put round their excavations were blown onto our drive as they had not been secured properly, thus endangering our 6 & 3 year old grandchildren and ourselves and our cars and visiting cars. Our drive has been damaged by the excavations. We have made a complaint to the company which hasn’t even been acknowledged- disgraceful. My next point of contact will be the health and safety executive as this company’s duty of care to its customers is certainly lacking. After that if necessary we shall be going down the legal route to resolve this terrible customer service from this awful company
