Do not use. they have taken 2 payments of 39.90 from my card since using which I did not authorise.After emailing, the company have agreed to refund the two payments I didn't authorise. I will update if the money is returned. I can confirm my money was refunded promptly after emailing the company. Still advise caution if using this service.
Like everyone else directed to this company by a YouTube video and only received information that is freely available on gov.uk in any event. Received a text from my bank alerting me to fraud after paying £5.95 on 5/9 and they were automatically taking £39.90 2 days later. No 7 day cooling off as per earlier posts. Avoid even the one off check!
Much the same as every other review of this company, no information regarding the subscription fee. They’re attempting to take 39.99 a month out of bank account. All payments have been blocked, please do so if anyone reads this review. Awful company, the report given wasn’t even that insightful if I’m honest so a loss all round to myself.
CHECKMYCAR.IO is a scam vehicle check company supposedly based in DUBLIN. I used them once whilst searching for a reputable company. They charge £5.95 (looked to good to be true, lesson learnt) and provide an average vehicle check. There is absolutely nothing clear and obvious, when you are on their website, that you are signing to anything more than a one off payment, NOT a continuous payment authority for nearly £40 per month!!Their website does not allow for customers to cancel a continuing payment authority either.Their phone number could charge you at up to 65p per minute if you got an answer, and I see other victims have reported this number to be answered with a "you've got a wrong number".Lastly, all their pathetic replies to other victims are clearly AI generated.AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
AVOID - SCAMMERSThis company needs stopping immediately. Another one here had £39.90 taken from my account twice! I NEVER signed up to a subscription. Checkmycar if you read this, you clearly need to address this. Lots of people complaining about the same thing.
This company's billing practices are completely unacceptable. I followed their process and cancelled my subscription in good faith, yet they have continued to take money from my account. This has happened not once, but TWICE since I cancelled.It feels like a scam. They make it easy to sign up but impossible to leave. I am now being forced to consider legal action and reporting them to my bank just to get my own money back. Do not give this company your card details unless you want to be charged indefinitely with no way to stop it. I am absolutely furious with the lack of service and the stress this has caused. Avoid them.
