One more unsuspecting punter who experienced an unexpected monthly subscription charge of £39.90 following the attempted purchase of a single £5.95 report. Luckily, HSBC's Fraud team caught it for me.
I usually check everything on TrustPilot before purchasing and very rarely get caught out, but this site was similar enough in name and appearance to a reputable one that I have used previously that I thought I was using that. Lesson learned.
I believe that this organisation is in breach of various aspects of marketing legislation, consumer contracts regulations and the Data Protection Act 2018.
You pay a fee of £5.95 to receive a report which never arrives and then unknowingly are signed up to a monthly payment of £39.90. This is completely unclear on the website and there is no warning via another forms of communication. The first you will know is when a payment is taken from your account.
I have contacted to the company for a refund and to stop any further payments but hold little hope this will happen. To stop further payments I will have to cancel my card and order a new one.
For over 1700 people to have the same issue is not a problem with the consumer misunderstanding. It is a deliberate pricing strategy which is completely immoral and likely not legal.
They claim to be a UK based company, yet the payments are from Dublin which is not UK.. probably a further tax avoidance/scrutiny scam.
Even in their own description on this Trust pilot page they claim the payment should by £29.90 so they can't even get their story straight.
In short do not use them!
I had the same problem as many others; after paying for a report, I was automatically enrolled in an unexpected subscription. Despite reaching out multiple times, my attempts to get assistance have gone unanswered. There’s no clear indication that you will be signed up for a subscription, and the charges are processed separately from the report, making it feel misleading. I'm now in the process of disputing the charges with my bank.
This service is fraudulent. You pay your money, and they take it, only to claim the transaction failed. Like others, I experienced an attempt to charge £39 a few days later. Fortunately, my credit card company prevented it from going through. Why isn’t the government shutting down their website? I wish I had seen these warnings before proceeding.
Like many others, I thought I was buying a one-time report with no mention of recurring fees. They tried to withdraw money, but my bank stopped it just in time. I had to replace all my cards as they flagged it as a scam. This has been my worst experience with any service. Stay away at all costs.
Avoid this company entirely! I faced the same issue as many others. They deducted £39 from my account despite not signing up for any subscription, and I received no confirmation email regarding any membership. I contacted their customer service, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The representative was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Everything about this feels deceitful and untrustworthy.
