Damn, I got scammed.I thought I was signing up for vcheck (which is legit! I guess they jack this up in the search)Obviously they will refuse a refund. I suggest getting as much evidence as possible and sending it to the bank.Also feels bad man for the guy replying to my emails on a Sunday. Go outside and touch grass, maybe meet a female. As what everyone else is saying - they hid the fact that after paying £5.95 for a one off check on a car, they then took 3 more monthly payments from us of £39.90 (before I realised). When I contacted them and asked for the money back they told me I had automatically subscribed by getting the one off check so I couldn't have any money back. Would advise anybody else not to use them, the website is very unclear and deliberately misleading with it's pricing, as can also be seen by other peoples reviews written about them.I have emailed Checkmycar 3 times (the last time they didn't respond) and they say - the charges and subscription terms are shown on their website so they will not refund me, I therefore see no point in contacting them again as they are suggesting in their response to me on Trustpilot.
Had an unexpected fee of 39.99 a couple of days after I did a cheap car check. I called them and the they explained that I signed up to a premium membership I asked for a refund and was at first told they couldn’t refund the payment but after I mentioned I’ll make a dispute with my bank they then refunded the payment. That I am very thankful for. The lady on the phone was very helpful and I appreciate the refund. I will use check my car in the future but I will remember to cancel the subscription before 48hrs 😀
