Second update:- these clowns have not…

Second update:- these clowns have not only pulled out of the finance but have reported to the credit reference agencies that I have an account with them!!! This has now affected my credit in a negative manner!! Not only that but supplying false information is a fraudulent activity.I advise anyone who has had these clowns involved with them need to check your credit files!!I have had the garage provide me with the return of funds too, so now I have all confirmation that this lot are committing fraud and will be reported now

One to avoid

I paid my agreement off to avoid having to deal with this company any more.Stupid admin charges, website doesn't list outstanding balance accurately, awkward to pay off agreement, no response from support.I will not use this company again.

Close brothers are fantastic

I found close brothers to be fast and efficient when setting up the hire purchase agreement for my bike. Although I've never had occasion to speak to them, all their literature made it very clear that they are easy to approach. They provided a statement so I could see exactly where I was. I highly recommend them and will not hesitate to use them again. It also seams they under right my bike insurance too

Disgusting company.

Disgusting company.I had a mental breakdown and was on suicide watch by friends and family from being in financial difficulty from the cost of living crisis and could not afford a months payment, I was spoken to with no compassion at all when I called and arranged a repayment plan with them.My policy was then cancelled a few weeks later with no warning, reason or explanation as to why this was being done and a demand has been made for full payment and if I was not to pay my vehicle will be seized.Vile disgusting company to treat a man who is struggling like this!!!!

Website is an absolute nightmare

So here's the background, i need insurance as part of the terms and conditions of the sale of an old empty property. I only need the insurance for about a month until the property is sold and then i'm going to cancel it. The insurance company naturally went through a 2nd insurance company. And then obviously i had to pay these clowns, the standing order had to go through a 3rd company called close brothers, who wouldn't take the money out of my account. Oh no. That would be too easy. Before they can take my money i have to digitally sign the stupid thing and go through credit checks. Now i tried 3 times to digitally sign the damn thing under firefox, and every time before it showed me the document to sign it just said:"Try again in a few minutes…We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties"Little did i know that this is some cryptic code for "actually our website's completely busted under firefox, and you should use a different web browser instead."I'm sorry I wasn't able to use my jedi mind reading skills to telepathically know this because the error implied a problem with your website. Anyway in a last final act of desperation, i try Chrome. I get to the document to sign, "all's well" i thought.No, the problems had only just began. See to sign the document, i had to get to the bottom of a 2 page document. The problem was:1) No scrollbar2) Up and Down cursor keys disabled3) Page up and page down keys are disabled4) Wheel mouse scrolling is disabled5) The button at the bottom of the screen to get to the next page all of that's disabled i can't click on it6) the left and right arrows to get to the next page at the top of the website again, you can't click on them.I tried everything i could think of to get to the next page, i tried clicking "sign" but it wouldn't work unless i got to the 2nd page first. If i downloaded the PDF i could read it, I just couldn't scroll to it so i could click the damn "Sign" button. Eventually after losing my temper, i button smash my keyboard and i think i must have hit tab or something, because then i got a mangled 2nd page of the document, and although i couldn't see 3/4 of it, it was enough that i could agree and click sign. Like honestly it was at the point where i was thinking of ringing them asking for a list of insurance companies that they do business with, and just cancelling the policy and going with someone else that doesn't use close brothers group even through the policy cancellation was £50. One of the worst website experiences i've ever had, completely unacceptable in 2024. I'm going to have a cup of tea and try and de-stress.

Extremely poor customer service

Extremely poor customer service. I decided to cancel my agreement within the first 14 days and clear the balance (as I'm legally and contractually able to do without penalty) however, Close Brothers decided that they would charge this penalty anyway.It's been almost 3 months now and still no further forward. Not one email has been replied to and I have had calls from numerous people in complaints who have been calling me back for almost 2 weeks....never happened. Today I got another holding email saying they hope to have this rectified within the next month. THAT WILL BE 4 MONTHS TO REFUND SOMETHING THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE CHARGED. Imagine if this was the other way around..... I would have additional interest, late charges and potentially a CCJ.If this is not rectified by Friday 7th June, I will go to the Financial Ombudsman with all of my emails trails. Luckily, I put everything in writing about wishing to exit the agreement within my 14 days and it was sent on day 12 and paid in full.So glad I decided against the car finance now and got out of the agreement in time... Especially after reading how much they are currently being fined for misleading customers with car finance.Very poor and unprofessional
