Review Time
Just renewed my car insurance and straight away have regretted it (will definitely not be renewing next year). Feel very misled and disappointed with policy expert/close brothers. Took an extra payment out without informing me - so have put in a formal complaint in. Communication levels have been very poor and has left me out of pocket.
Well the reason I have given a three star rating is because I could never access my account online, even with the data Close Brothers provided at the outset. After that I just kept an eye on my payments through my bank. I did appreciate the email just before the final payment to remind me to cancel my direct debit after this payment was taken.
I have been a customer of Close Brothers, on very many occasions, regarding the finance of motor vehicles over the years. The experience has always been positive, I have never been turned down, and have had a great rapport, and correspondence, they have allowed me the opportunity to own a number of vehicles, although this maybe the last one I purchase as I am now retired, and have a much reduced income. However if this was to change at some time, I would have no hesitation in approaching Close Brothers again.
We were quite happy with the initial service opening up a 1 year fixed saver was fairly easy and straight forward, the problems occur once the account reaches maturity. We had an e mail from them a few weeks before maturity but nothing after advising of options to reinvest or where we would like our money to be transfered to. Their web site is next to usesless as it tells you to place your instructions in your account area however it does not allow you to place anything in the area as it's locked out, we were going to reinvest with them but this has soured our oppinion of the company. They now have our money with no access to them until the next work day and unfortunately we are away abroad for a week, poor show and I would think wisely before investing here.
Very easy to sort out the finance for me very straightforward easy to set up online page to keep track of account and when I spoke to your customer service personnel to pay my finance off early it was all done in a matter of minutes If in the future I need to finance another vehicle I would be more than happy to choose close brothers finance again
I had a jeep on finance witch came 6 months warranty .the car had to go back to the dealership with duel mass failed witch inturn took the clutch out the dealership wouldn't sort it out .and wanted nearly 900 pound off me .I got intouch with close brother's complaints and spoke to someone called chris tayler. He was on it like a shot within a hour he told me not to pay a penny the dealers will pay for it .I carnt but praise this man anoth. It took afew months to sort out but he kept me informed every step of the way and also sorted abit of compensation for me .well done chris tayler.
When I first went with them they informed me my insurance would be lowered I wasn't told about any hidden fees such as cancellation due to a car being written off. They wanted over 500 to cancel absolutely disgusting. I will never be going back to them. I've told many people to steer clear away from this con company
