I was referred to Close Brothers by my insurer Hinks Insurance …

I was referred to Close Brothers by my auto insurance company . I decided to spread out my payment over12 months . Although I have a substantial pension and considerable savings I was refused credit from Close Brothers . I contacted them twice by email and once over the phone --on the phone I waited 15 mins as the employee was looking for information and then I was cut off . I did get another email from them saying my credit was refused ,but no reason was given . This is a company to avoid

New customer, not for long

Having been with the brokers just over 2 months due to insurance company appointing them, I can safely say I will not be renewing when the time comes. What a torturous, exhausting company. No response to emails at all after they threatened to cancel my car insurance because a payment was not taken due to a problem on their side. I was charged a fee for a late payment (£25) which I am still waiting for a call back about after customer service refused me a refund - despite the missed payment being their fault... The payment was then not taken a second time, and another threatening letter arrives... my details are all correct and yet they have still not set up the direct debit (as stated in the terms and conditions) despite me doing everything my side. The lady I spoke to was not apologetic or helpful and I must have had to repeat my details to her 7/8 times. Really disappointing as a new customer.

I have been a customer of Close Brothers for around 10 years , maybe more for monthly business insurance finance and car finance...Think I've bought four business cars using their finance. Hassles???....what is that word, totally flawless. Hope to continue a great business relationship in the future.

Financial support when I needed it most

I hadn’t heard of Close Brothers, then suddenly they’ve supported me with a hire vehicle when I first became self employed, they then financed my own work vehicle and they’re who I pay every month for my work vehicle insurance for the third year running.Brilliant!

Was offered finance thru these guys ..and to be fair the apr was one of the cheapest I was offered ..I was lucky enough to settle my account early which was easy process ..as long as you keep up your payments these guys give you no cold calling n just send you a yearly statement in the post
