Paid deposit of £399 a week later they informed me that they couldn’t get the door I wanted. Order cancelled and 6 weeks later, I’m still awaiting my refund.. they lie everytime I call. I’ve now gone to the ombudsman and the finance company that they use. Scammers one thinks.. disgusted
I paid thousands of pounds with this company getting new windows and outside doors throughout my full house which has been a nightmare since installation. Firstly, I’ve had to get them out for my back double doors as they needed readjusting and the handle snapped off my other single back door. The mechanism on the windows that clicks them into different openings snapped on 2 windows so far which I’ve been waiting over 1 year to get replaced. One of my bathroom windows is now not opening due to the mechanism inside that sound like it’s broken. These are just cheap nasty mechanisms at expensive prices and the customer service is absolutely awful. I e been told for the last year on several occasions I would get a call back to arrange an engineer visit which never took place. I’ve finally had an engineer out months ago who told me the part would be ordered and ready within a week. I’m now STILL waiting for this to be fixed and have since been cancelled twice on the same day with no contact from this company as I had to once again call them. Please steer clear if you have any sense. I’m now getting an extension and will certainly NOT be using this company again!!!
From start to finish, Stephen was absolutely amazing. The whole process was smooth, professional and completely hassle-free. He explained everything clearly, kept us updated throughout, and made the whole experience so easy.The quality of the work is outstanding — we’re genuinely delighted with our new windows and both doors. Our experience with Clydebuilt Windows & Doors has been extremely disappointing from start to finish.Since the installation, our home is noticeably colder, with significant draughts coming through several of the new windows worse than when we previously had old wooden frames. This is clearly unacceptable. When we raised concerns during installation, we were repeatedly told that everything was “normal” and “fine".While two members of the installation team (Justin and Jamie) were professional, the overall workmanship was poor. The draughty windows were installed by an apprentice, and our concerns were dismissed rather than properly investigated.The standard of cleanliness was also very poor. It took us over two hours to clean our home inside and out after the work was completed. No shoe protectors were worn, resulting in additional carpet cleaning costs, which should never be the customer’s responsibility.The sales process was equally frustrating. The sales representative, Paul, stayed nearly three hours instead of the promised one, repeatedly interrupting my working-from-home schedule. He was over familiar, spoke over us consistently, and focused more on personal anecdotes than providing clear, concise information. We asked repeatedly for a straightforward cost breakdown, but instead experienced over-promising and under-delivering. Even the installation team commented that the sales department appears disconnected from the realities of installation.We chose this company based on its association with a Scottish Government recommendation, which makes this experience all the more concerning. After numerous failed attempts to contact their after care team we feel we have no other choice but to contact the Ombudsman and also legal advice. Overall, this has been a stressful, time-consuming, and costly experience, and not one we would recommend based on our experience. They take your money, provide a very poor service and then ghost you. Avoid at all costs!
Absolutely disgraceful company! Salesman pushy and demanding to sign the contract on the day, installation disaster on its own, door not properly fixed, causing damage and fault, nine months "battle" with the company to get it sorted, took two months to get engineer out to inspect, then another three months to get answer, warranty accepted and suggested new door , yet another four months matter nothing it has been done but lies, wasted two days on my annual leave as we had set dates for replacement, no calls, no email, no communication, after me chasing what's happening I was told that there delay in delivery yet it was confirmed a month prior the replacement that everything is there and ready to go After nine months I still have faulty, drafty door , two days on annual leave wasted. 100s yes100s calls and numerous emails sent with no response and no solution Citizen advice bureau contacted and all set to proceed in small claims court Absolutely disgusting company!
I recommend Clydebuilt 100% from start to finish and what a finish indeed! We are very happy with all aspects from the first contact with Ryan who was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely professional as well as admin staff to answer any questions and were always on hand with updates and delivery, all spot on. A huge big thank you and a well done handshake to Ross, our hero for sure. Ross was amazing and worked non stop to get every window and our front door in, even during a bad wind and rainstorm (11/11/25) without a hitch. He returned the following day at 8am sharp to do the finishing touches and what a finish it is! He left no mess and it was as if he had never been here at all. First class!👌 We cannot believe the difference it makes to the warmth in our home and it looks so sleek. After many years of aluminium windows we are very impressed with our new PVC units. Thank you Clydebuilt for doing everything as promised and for your after service which is very important. Overall a 5 star service!
Im pleased with the way this company dealt with progress of installing our windows firstly james & charlie & kyfer jordan installed windows the guys were brilliant couldnt fault them they are a credit to the company also sales rep stephen was very good he explained everything to us and was very patient also stef the surveyor was great spot on with sizes kaleigh for admin she was fantastic i would recommend this company one very happy customer
We had a guy come out to give a quote. Very pushy sales claiming couldn't hold the price for us and we had to agree that day. He didn't and wouldn't give the quote in writing. When we said no thanks he then called his "manager " and passed the phone to my husband. Price dropped by £5000 within 10 minutes before he even spoke to him. We said we needed time to talk it over multiple times while he was in but he kept on pushing. In the end we decided not to go with them because we didn't feel the pricing was honest from the start, and the whole quote took about 1.5 hours of rambling before he got to the point and another 40 mins of him trying to convince us to sign then and there. Be careful getting finance also as I asked multiple times what the APR was and I still don't know.
I used this company to purchase a new front door and patio door. When the doors were fitted some of the material inside the patio door windows had been cut short in 4 areas leaving unsightly gaps. The installer also left a very large hole in my wall where a chunk of render was displaced. Finally the front door came without the number we ordered. In the 10 weeks since this installation, I have contacted Clydebuilt by phone and email several times(with photos of damage attached) and this still hasn't been resolved. Damp is now getting into the house through the wall where the render is missing which I also informed them about. Each time I contacted them there were always excuses like "we can't get hold of the installation team now but will get back to you" and never did. I felt like they don't really care as they have been paid for the doors. I would recommend anyone looking for new doors and windows to avoid this company at all costs as the customer service and workmanship is absolutely terrible.
