Beware, their website is a nightmare to navigate. Painful experience if you have to communicate with them, if you want to ask for a refund, find your bill, find your help case thread... they have multiple websites that are interrelated, but it's hard to find your stuff... Codecanyon, themeforest, envato market, envato author, envato help centre, refund form... Really difficult to find where your purchase are, where you can ask a question and find back your thread. I've asked for a refund and they miscalculated the tax refund. I did not even bother to ask for the missing few dollars to preserve my mental health!

I'll be frank, this website is the worst customer experience i ever had online! yes this is true! (over 25 yrs!)

I'll avoid!

If the have a fight with the company they are selling for. They delete the app and cancel any outstanding licences, leaving us the consumer high and dry. They did this to me with Nez-Forms

scam artist scumbags

This is a scam artist website that allows just about any sketchy 'developer' to get on board, present some 'product' that's untested and waits for nuff complaints until it pulls said product haphazardly w/o refund, explanation, or apologies. their 'refund' policy is: a back + forth between said developers, and they give the devs the option to refund or not, which is almost always not of course. If you want to buy something like an html or css template, by all means. anything useful? do not be suckered by these scumbags.

Unprofessional review process

As a highly experienced team of developers, we are appalled by CodeCanyon’s review process. We submitted a high-quality built on modern PHP 8.4, only to have it "hard rejected" for "naming similarities" in Blade files. It is clear their team uses automated fingerprinting instead of actually installing and testing the code. Rejecting a professional-grade architecture because it follows standard framework naming conventions is technically negligent. We see underdeveloped, "spaghetti code" approved daily on this platform, yet our team’s hard work is blocked by inconsistent gatekeeping. We are moving our portfolio to marketplaces that actually value quality engineering. Developers: don't waste your innovation here.

CodeCanyon Censors Bugs & Criticism: My Comment & Support Ticket Were Deleted

Do not trust the comment section on CodeCanyon. It is not a place for honest discussion but a carefully curated advertisement where any mention of serious product flaws is removed. My experience serves as clear proof. The Deleted Comment (Constructive Feedback):After purchasing an item, I left the following factual comment to help other buyers:"By the way, I'm curious: some people are reporting that the APK file is large. Well, with the default settings, it is. But I managed to compress the APK to 146 MB. I just need the developers to fix the critical bugs in the app."It was not abusive, not a support request—just a mention of a known issue and a helpful tip. It was swiftly removed. The Contradiction (CodeCanyon's Own Promise):Right next to the comment box, CodeCanyon states: "We will NOT remove negative comments unless they are abusive or offensive. Once a comment has been reported, it cannot be retracted and will be sent to moderators for review."My comment proved this promise is false. It was negative (pointing out bugs) but in no way abusive or offensive. Its removal is a direct breach of their stated policy. The Runaround from "Support" (Ticket #4069551):When I demanded an explanation via support ticket #4069551, the excuses began:First, they vaguely claimed my comment "violated policies."Then, they insisted it was a "support request" for an "unsupported item"—a complete misrepresentation of my words. When I challenged them to specify the exact rule broken, they could not. Instead, they sent a template response asking me to report bugs for an "internal review," trying to change the subject from their censorship to a technical issue.Faced with a direct, logical question they could not answer, CodeCanyon's final solution was to delete the entire support ticket from my history, erasing all evidence of the conversation. The Takeaway for Buyers:This sequence—delete criticism, give evasive answers, then delete the complaint—reveals a systemic practice. CodeCanyon actively filters its comment section to hide product defects from potential customers. The comment section is a marketing tool, not a source of genuine information. You are making purchase decisions based on an incomplete and misleading picture. My advice: Assume any negative or critical comment you don't see has likely been removed. For unbiased opinions, you must look outside of CodeCanyon entirely. This platform cannot be trusted to host honest buyer feedback.

If you want to scam people by selling…

If you want to scam people by selling products, become a Codecayon member because most products are either abandoned or left behind.

You should not buy anything here

You should not buy anything here, because at any time you can lose hundreds of dollars worth of products just because you bought the wrong code from the wrong author. The irresponsible Envato team suspended my account and I lost access to all the hundreds of dollars worth of products I had purchased, just because one of the irresponsible authors' Vioneer scripts didn't work as it should. This is not a marketplace that is focused on users, this is a marketplace that is focused on making money. Do not buy anything on Codecanyon! They can make you lose your account at any time without any fair investigation and without establishing real reasons.
