Jamal has been excellent in helping me sort the issue I had with a company called Bandi-coot that I used through their website. Very quick responses from Jamal and chased up the company along with my attempts to contact them and get answers. I would use compare and recycle again as it’s not their fault that the companies that are displayed to sell on their website aren’t honest and have misleading advertisements. Thanks to Jamal’s efforts alongside mine the payment was finally received 4 days later than was intended with £10 compensation.Below was my experience with The company bandi-coot and why they should be avoided;They are fraudulent, what they advertise and what they actually do are two completely different things. I sent my phone off and it was in good condition which I have pictures of. They received my phone on Friday 30th Jan, the phone wasn't looked at until Monday 2nd Feb where I was then told my phone has a deep scratch on the back and scratches all over the screen. They sent pictures of these scratches that weren't there when I sent the phone off, they then sent me a counter offer of £120 which was £115 less than what was originally offered.I accepted the offer on Monday as I couldn't be asked to argue and received a text message saying payment should be received within 24 hours, it has taken 4 days to get the payment which is abysmal considering it clearly states on their website ‘same day payments’. I ended up driving almost an hour and a half to their office in Harlow to confront them and find out why my payment hasn’t been made and why I was told different excuses each time I contacted them, please note that I made several attempts at ringing them to be left on hold and told no one is available to speak too.I shouldn’t of had to drive to their office to get answers but I’m glad I did, I’m also glad that Jamal reached out when he saw my trust pilot review and helped get to the bottom of the issue.
Google searched phone recycling and this site looked decent. Took one of the higher valuations but also with a good Trustpilot review score too but how wrong was I. Company I used was Handtec as they had a lot of reviews and a good score. Phone I sent has had screen protector and case on since it was purchased, it also had a screen saver time of 30 seconds. After receiving the phone which I was valued at on her for £360 they said the "engineers" have assed my phone and found deep scratches to the screen, chips on case and back light when white is discoloured and it's recycle value is now £125, refused and asked to return my phone. When looking into the reviews of Handtec on Trustpilot it's plain to see that all the bad reviews come from people recycling phones and good ones are from buying. If compare and recycle are doing the job they should be this company should be a red flag to them. Anyway back to the story, 2nd "engineers" review and re-valued at £145, refused the offer and made plain and clear that I want my phone back, 3rd "engineers" review final offer £205, told I want my phone back, still waiting.The think that irks me the most is this company is doing this a lot when you look at the 1 star reviews, lots of people with the same story as me being ripped off or tried to be ripped off and caving in and selling the phone cheap so them so they can scam them and sell the phone at maximum profit cause they just done of a customer.It ok saying that you Compare and Recycle aren't doing the valuation but you are an advisor and you point people in the direction of the complete scam artists then claim the blame shouldn't be labelled at you, do your research and do what I have done and you can see the pattern in bad reviewsAnyways, still waiting for my phone to be returned.Phone has now been returned and Compare and Recycle did help sort that out, appreciation for that.However I do think they need to look into suggesting companies like Handtec on their website. From a quote of £360 to first quote of £125 (several quotes later) final quote of £286 suggests Handtec is on the rob with peoples phones. How can a company try that on.
The company they suggested Handtec offered me 1/3rd of the value quoted, then raised the offer twice despite asking for my phone back. Looking at their reviews this seems to be a regular occurrence. Maybe they should deal with more reputable companies.
