Not to sound like I’m repeating and reiterating other customers’ comments and experiences but here is my experience:

MY LAST COMMUNICATION TO CRICUT CUSTOMER SERVICES ON 20TH FEBRUARY 2026:
———————
“I have seen I have missed calls from you which is why I had said in my previous email due to time zone differences it is better to communicate via email?

You mention that if I still needed to contact you to get in touch BUT as previously stated it was Cricut (via Cricut review response) who asked me to make contact. Please see Maryam’s email response to me on 5th February, which I was following up.

I made my review based on my experience of purchasing from the Cricut shop UK website and together with my recent experience with Member Care I am extremely frustrated and disappointed. It has been extremely difficult to resolve what I believe to be a clear and precise explanation of my experience with Cricut but I have been passed to and fro with different Member Care representatives who do not appear to take on board my concerns and requests.

To summarise:
I felt I received poor customer service following an order I placed and posted a review on the Cricut website to this effect
Cricut responded to this review and requested I contact Member Care
I contacted Member Care only to be asked what my query was, despite, I felt, making my contact clear. Eventually Maryam escalated my experiences and I am (still) waiting on a response from 5th February
After 5 years of using and purchasing Cricut products this is the first time I have experienced such poor customer care which has made me question my loyalty to this brand. I have already cancelled my Cricut Access subscription which I had been renewing annually.

As I have mentioned in most communications with you, you asked me to get in touch, I have nothing more to add.”
————————

So not listened to, requests ignored and now ignored completely - when I was asked to contact them? 🤔

My machine arrived in a timely manner. Explorer 4 + Everything Bundle. However, it is less than reliable. 90% of the time it will not prompt to load the material. If it does, it will not prompt to press GO to start the cut. Keeps throwing error codes for connection issues. If the cut does start, it will freeze halfway through, ruining the cut, or will freeze right at the end and not allow the option to eject the material. You have to reset/turn off the machine and program to even try again - JUST TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. When using the Pen/Writing function, at the end of the job it froze and made this screeching/buzzing noise that would not stop. Sounded like a bad electrical motor type sound. Or like the sound that the old dial up internet connection would make.
The machine itself was dirty right out of the box - Covered in some kind of fine black dust/soot. The tape that holds the doors closed was removed, and there were a couple of fingerprints inside the "new" machine. I believe I received a defective or previously returned product.
I have the machine tethered with the USB cord and have not been using Bluetooth - IT WON'T EVEN CONNECT WITH BLUETOOTH. I have performed the suggested steps numerous times with issues immediately presenting themselves again - Uninstall and reinstall program, leave machine off for ten minutes, clear cache, Etc.
I contacted Cricut and requested a refund as I have had the machine for 30 days or less - The representative wanted to occupy 15 minutes of my time to try to troubleshoot. I was not interested in donating any more of my time to this machine and program. He refused to issue a return label so that a refund could be generated upon receiving the defective unit back.
What a disappointment. Initially I was excited to make a few new projects, but my experience with this machine and program has ruined all the joy in it. Moving on. Guess I am out the $250. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY.

terrible technology, super slow and laggy, too much artificial intelligence that is not at all intelligent. I would suggest buying a machine you can adjust yourself. Definetly don't use the design space for laying out or patterns, don't pay for anything i beg you.

I love my cricut and have had various versions from the beginning. I upgraded my cricut maker to cricut maker 3 but recently when I try to use the bluetooth function it keeps disconnecting midway through cuts.
At first I thought it was due to being in a different room [it work perfectly from the same position with my maker and to start with the maker 3] So i moved my laptop next to my machine and it still not work consistently with the bluetooth. I have no problems with any other bluetooth devices. I now have to always connect using the usb lead which can be very frustrating. I actually do not even mind paying for a subscription as feel it is very good value for money especially with the quarterly voucher and free p&p with the voucher so i save up my orders for then

I am experiencing a concerning issue with my Explore 4 machine, specifically with the plug and knife

I am experiencing a concerning issue with my Explore 4 machine, specifically with the plug and knife carriage, which has been emitting a buzzing sound since November when i first brought it, the carriagebuzzes when the machines on (its high pitched but not loud loud) but the plug buzzes regardless if the machine is on or not only turning of at the wall and of course i tried it in many switches and extensions. I was initially unaware of the potential implications until I researched the issue and discovered it could pose a fire hazard. I contacted customer service on Monday morning at 9 am, but I have not yet received a response. Given the potential safety risk of an arc fault or short circuit, I would have expected this to be a high-priority matter. I am quite disappointed with Cricut's response time; waiting over 48 hours for an update is not ideal. While I understand that non-dangerous machine faults may have a longer resolution time, I would have anticipated a much quicker response in this situation. I have been very satisfied with the machine itself up untill now, and i do understand theres always going to be a bad apple when so many machines are produced thats normal, but my experience with customer service has been less than satisfactory. Im second guessing cricut now. My next call today will be the OPSS to report this because I just dont get why a fire hazard is not a priority, how busy is that department that im still in a pile of safety concerns, im questioning weather this a known fault!

This last update of January 2026 has destroyed my ability to use my Cricut Explorer easily and quickly. Put it back the way it was! Every time I go to cut something the software doesn't recognize my machine and I have to power both down, restart and turn the bluetooth on again. This fix slows down my ability to print quickly like in December. PUT IT BACK

I purchased a product I needed to cut…

I purchased a product I needed to cut felt. I intended to by the Maker 4, but was given the Explore 4 instead - it doesn't cut felt. Immediately, within the hour after purchasing, I took it back to Michael's with the receipt. Michael's won't replace it because Cricut won't replace it. I called Cricut and they refuse to let me replace a brand new, unused Cricut simply because I opened the box an hour earlier. Now I have a $300 paper weight I can't use. Unbelievably short sighted customer service. Doing some research, there are better machines with better customer service. DO NOT BUY THROUGH CRICUT.

Greedy company

Greedy company.I paid ~ 300€/$ for a cricut explore 4 machine to help me with some crafts. You would think for that price basic service is included and everything you need to actually start using the machine is there. But no, cricut wants you to pay for everything in excess. Pens, paper, decals, even the mat which you NEED in order to use the machine. Not only this but the greed of this company goes beyond normal human comprehension. I wanted to use my cricut for the first time today. I download the app, which again, is necessary for using this machine. Guess what? You have to pay 10€/$ a month to use it properly AFTER paying 300 for their machine! It’s absolutely ridiculous and outrageous. Then, you have to calibrate your machine in order to use it. Okay guess what? You need a printer, or to somehow print out a piece of paper with specific lines on it and use that to calibrate the machine. I don’t own a printer. I’m not about to go to the library after I just got home to try my machine out. You’re telling me this company is so cheap and greedy they can’t include a single piece of paper in the package for me to calibrate this thing? You’d think this is almost a scam at this point. I guess we will see if the machine actually does its job or not. But since I can’t use it yet I couldn’t tell you. Stop being so greedy and cheap. I paid for an expensive product expecting to be able to use it. If I can’t do that then you’ve scammed me.

No customer service, machine is junk, software is awful

Honestly the worst customer service ever. I'm stuck in a loop being mansplained by AI who refuses to put me through to a human without giving out very personal information. Everything you want to actually do on the machine requires you to sign up for a cripplingly expensive monthly subscription. Every image must be painstakingly uploaded one by one, in a process that requires 8 steps and has no way to remember how to just uploaded all the previous images. The machine has to be constantly unplugged, rested 10 minutes and plugged in again to take the guide mat. I'm only 3 days in to this journey so I'm likely to hit more issues. Naming that machine "Joy Xtra" seems like a cruel joke.

Cricut Design Space: A Masterclass in Vendor Lock-In

Do not buy Cricut products if you use Linux. Do not buy Cricut products if you value freedom and flexibility with your own hardware. This is a dumpster fire of vendor lock-in, forced obsolescence, and artificial restrictions that will make you regret your purchase.Design Space is mandatory software if you want to use your Cricut machine - there's no way around it. And Cricut has made sure you're completely locked into their ecosystem with no alternatives. Here's why this software is infuriating:They Killed the Web AppCricut used to offer a web-based version of Design Space that worked in any browser on any operating system. It wasn't perfect, but at least it was accessible. Then they decided to kill it and force everyone to use their bloated desktop application instead. Why? Control. They want you on their terms, using their software, on their approved platforms.Zero Linux SupportIn 2025, there are millions of Linux users. Designers, makers, artists, engineers - tons of creative people use Linux. But Cricut? Nope. Windows and Mac only. They refuse to even acknowledge that Linux exists.I paid hundreds of dollars for a Cricut machine, and now I'm told I need to buy a Windows license or a Mac just to use the hardware I already own? That's absurd. The machine is perfectly capable of receiving commands - there's no technical reason they couldn't support Linux. They just choose not to.Forced Updates and Cloud DependencyDesign Space requires an internet connection for most features. Want to use a design you created yesterday? Better hope Cricut's servers are up. Want to use the software without updating? Too bad. They force updates that often break things that were working fine before. The software constantly phones home, tracks what you're doing, and requires you to be logged into their ecosystem. It's my machine. I should be able to use it offline with my own files without needing Cricut's permission.Bloated and SlowThe software is unnecessarily heavy and slow. Simple tasks take forever. The interface is clunky. It eats RAM like it's going out of style. For what is essentially a vector editor that sends instructions to a cutting machine, it has no business being this resource-intensive.The Bottom LineCricut makes decent hardware but has created a walled garden that punishes customers who don't use their preferred operating systems. They've actively made their product less accessible by killing the web app and refusing to support Linux. If you're a Linux user, consider other cutting machine brands that don't treat their customers like prisoners. If you're on Windows or Mac and considering a Cricut, just know that you're buying into an ecosystem that doesn't respect your freedom to use the tools you want.I genuinely regret buying Cricut hardware. The artificial software restrictions have made a perfectly good machine nearly useless to me. Do better, Cricut.
