Would give 0 stars if allowed, absolutely shoddy service. Would have to ring every week or 2 since subscription started due to missing beanos for my 8 year old son, email is a joke take a week to reply to you, give you the same excuses, have now cancelled and seeking a different companies magazine for my son.
(Edit November 2021)I have recently been contacted by an outstanding DC Thomson customer service representative, Bette Smith. Without going into the absolute detail of her email to me - which was outstandingly positive, I have to tell you that my faith has been restored. Over the course of an email conversation, it was clear that she understood the value of the Beano/DC Thomson name, and the real negative impact on the brand, of complaints like mine. From my perspective, Bette has 'gone above and beyond' to rectify and make up for previous events. Obviously I cannot speak for anyone except myself, but I would suggest ensuring that there is some way for DC Thomson to contact you, and leave the door open for them, because there is at least one outstanding head of customer experience there who really cares about the brand and its customers. For this reason, I wish to retract my previously negative review.
DCThomson shopI purchased a plant on the 13/7/2021 they have taken the money for this plant still not received it sent an email on 3/8/2021 still no response after reading people’s reviews I think this company should be avoided at all cost and reported of which I’m going to do if I don’t get a response when I phone them on Monday so watch this space 30/8/2021 this company has just refunded my money for the plant but it should not of taken a harsh email to do it so if you want to go through what I did I would 100% Avoid buying from them.
Purchased a subscription for a weekly magazine with the promise we would get it earlier than purchasing it from a shop. 90% of the time the magazine never arrived it was between 10-14 days after the release date it arrived. Would ring up every time an issue was missing. The last time I rang the customer service was terrible he claimed it was not the Company's fault it was the post office, just kept repeating this like a robot.Cannot wait for the subscription to run out so I can purchase from a reliable source
Wish I had read these reviews first. Bought a subscription as a mothers day present and approx 2 months later £5 has been taken out of my account and no books received. I have had another letter telling me £11 will be taken out of my account and still no books. I am now well out of pocket as I will have to purchase these books at full price for my mum for the next 12 months.Avoid DC Thompson at all cost.
Only given 1 star to enable review. None existent customer service. Ordered a magazine subscription as a birthday present in early Feb 2021. No magazine has been delivered as yet, starting to think its a scam. Keep emailing the customer service but never get a reply. Very disappointed especially as it was met to be a birthday gift
