Review Time
Website and employees unfortunaty are very deceiving. I rented a Van with 45 euros for a half day. Time I picked was 17:00-19:00. When i got there they told me they close at 17:30 but I could bring the car back and drop it no worries. However when I asked where to park I had to deduse that there are parking fees.6 euros per hour , so I had to pay around the same price for the parking. Other solution was to bring it the next morning at 08:00 otherwise they would charge me an extra day. And that was the best out of the experience. When I dropped the car at 08:00 there was no space for parking so they had me going around because they did not want to inspect it in the middle of the road. Then finally I got the invoice with 30 euros extra. Apparently I had to also pay for the car being diesel , and of course it was smartly written in the contract that I did not read , because the lovely lady gave me a blank page on a tablet to sign on. Where I am from we call this Scam artistry and it's a shame that they are allowed to operate like that.I will share the experience with the company I work ,colleagues and friends to protect from falling for it in the future.I Rent so often , never had an experience this bad.
Their website is quite deceptive. I read on the website that fees are for a day. I picked up the car by 12 noon and brought it back by 10:30am the next day, I was charged for 2 days because I opted on my own that I would return the car by 8:30am the next day. For 22 hours of holding car I was charged for 2 days. This happened in with their Amsterdam (West) office.
I believe there is a reason that they do not have full liability waiver (i.e. Zero excess). They are scamming people for alleged vehicle damage. The car I hired had some scuff marks on front left wheel arch and when I pointed this out the Diks personnel member he agreed and mentioned it was already noted on the damage report. After returning to vehicle to their depot and left parked overnight I received information there was damage to front left wheel arch and it would cost €231 to repair. When I asked for photographic confirmation they could not supply as the vehicle had been rented out again.Apparently this customer also damaged the same area and the vehicle had then been dispatched for repair of said damage. (Probably paid for twice I'd say).I had video evidence of the car after drop off and no such damage to wheel arch area was evident, however the car is still customers responsibility until end of hire period (being 9 am next day or something).Due to the fact you are left with a security bond on credit card there is no way to stop them from ripping customers off. Scammers!!AVOID USING THIS COMPANY FOR CAR HIRE IN AMSTERDAM
Discovered this company after my frustration and how bad Bo-Rent is as a company. Best decision in my life. Nice cars, clean cars, and very good customer support. It is 1- to 5 euros more than Bo-Rent, but totally worth the price.
