Review Time
My goods were despatched on 01/12 and I expected delivery on 03/12 but I received a message from DPD to say my goods were delayed. When I contacted DPD they advised I get in touch with DoughGirl to cancel the order as the goods were perishable. I did email DoughGirl twice and both times they just sent me a screenshot of the tracking which obviously I already had access to. The goods were finally delivered on 06/12. My husband tried to refuse delivery because the box was totally battered and roughly cellotaped like it has been opened but the driver just took a photo and left the box. Unfortunately the goods were damaged and 2 out of 6 were past the best before date.
I don't write many reviews but I feel like I should with doughgirl. I ordered 6 cookie dough pies. They were packed very well and separated evenly so all got to me unbroken. I started with the Malteasers one. I had half of the pie and felt fairly sick due to it being very sweet/ rich. I have a sweet tooth myself so shocked that I couldn't eat more than 1/2 a slice!!! So as I ordered 6 I guess it's means I'm going to be feeling sick for the next two weeks or so 🤣...... Is it worth that feeling ??? 100% yes as I think it's quite frankly the best tasting desert I have had. Mine came fresh with a long use by date. I haven't yet microwaved it but I shall definitely give that a go tomorrow! The weight of the pies were fairly heavy and the size I would say is same size ( maybe slightly bigger ) than something you will see in a restaurant. However theese are maybe half the price and 10 times nicer. If you love cookies , your love theese. The only downside is that I want to eat more but I physically can't right now haha! I will definitely buy again .... If I'm still alive after this first 6 haha. One serious note though the allergies all say may contain nuts which is like everything but when emailed I wasn't told if any contained chocolate like Nutella etc so that was a tad annoying.Apart from that I give it 5*
I've ordered a couple of times from Dough Girl and they do have good offers on at the moment. The cookies are better than the pies. The pies are very sickly, way too much filling but the dubai chocolate one is probably the best one and I've tried nearly all of the flavours. The customer service is bad though and that's the main let down; I had an issue on my most recent order and they weren't very helpful. That's put me off from ordering again.
I was excited to try the 3 for £11 offer on the pies and after taking a few weeks to decide to order, I finally decided to take the leap. They were sickly which was expected but there was something that just didn’t really taste right with some of the chocolate. The m&m one tasted really quite cheap, like they used Tesco chocolate spread within it which I wasn’t expecting, I had to stop eating it quite quickly because it did taste too cheap. My bueno pie was stale & within date but I couldn’t eat that either, ended up wasting pretty much 2 pies. When I also asked about it allergens, as I read the m&m pie CONTAINED PEANUTS, I was greeted with ‘a may contain’ message instead of a straight answer. I understand allergens are a tough subject to face as they have to state may contain, but the wording around the m&m pie wasn’t correct in my knowledge, so I did enjoy it less as I’m not a fan of peanuts so was worried I was going to bite down within a peanut m&m. As well as the cheap taste.. I won’t be ordering again, however the triple chocolate pie was the best one.
I placed my first order with dough girl with a lot of hope and expectations. I ordered a mystery box and 3 separate products. On delivery of the order I opened the package to find that the surprise box which comes with 4 bakes all had an expiry date for the same day which the received. On contact with customer services I was told that I would receive 20% off my next order for the trouble wich I declined. Then they proceeded to offer me a 50% refund on the affected items. I asked for a replacement box with products that are not going out of date instead of the 50% refund but this was rejected . I feel why should I I have to loose half my money because they decided to send me out of date products . It's such a shame because the 3 separate items that I ordered that was in date was actually very nice . But because of the experience I've had on my first order I won't be ordering again and I advise people not to either unless you want to risk recieving out of date products even though the delivery was sent and received within 24hrs. If the issue was satisfactory resolved I would have left a positive review as the in date products did taste great
Just received first order and all came through perfect and as described. I was so happy with it I have put through a second order already too! Worth paying for £2.00 for the branded box for presentation if it’s for a gift or to be presented to someone. Packed well, no damages and very happy with it. I don’t normally leave reviews but I have had some bad experiences with other companies in the past as I do a lot of online food ordering for fun/occasions and must say this has been a perfect experience from start to finish.
