My cat, once dead, resuscitated

My cat died, but oh no, that is not where this story ends, in fact, it is only the beginning. I was driving alone, home, with my McDonald's latte--large shot of McCafé® Arabica bean espresso mixed with organic, semi-skimmed milk from UK dairies--when a cat ran out in front of my automobile. It died--sad! I grabbed the cat and slung it over my shoulder, nothing new for a seasoned farmhand. We (the cat and I) drove home and the corpse found comfort in the bottom of my recycling bin. It lay, cold, stiff, and dead. Upon awakening from my slumber, I contacted Downland Veterinary Group to query the corpse's disposal, they said they could 'take care of the rodent' (their words, not mine) and to bring it in before noon. And so I did. I pulled up into their Bognor Regis establishment (very nice) and once again slung the cat over my shoulder (left). I slammed it onto the counter and the receptionist looked disturbed--strange! She instructed me to bring the rodent into the room next door, as I did, the cat began to wriggle. What?! I thought this rodent was dead! But, oh no, this cat was not dead. Alas, they disposed of it anyway, thank God. Downland Veterinary Group take a no-fuss approach to such rodents and disposed of mine--free o' charge!Big recommend and I will use them for future disposals. Ta.

I’m an ex-farmer and am very pleased with the service provided by the staff at Chichester Downland Vets.‘Can-do!’ vets with a sense of purpose and efficiency, and easy to communicate with, top job!

Appointment cancelled by the vets and then told I had to call back in 10 days to make another appointment. Very disappointed that they are pushing people with existing appointments that they have cancelled to basically the back of the queue. I understand we are in difficult times at the moment but this is very poor service.

Avoid this practice at all costs

Avoid this practice at all costs! My cat were treated by Downlands and a vet misdiagnosed a break on my cat’sleg. I was then spoken to by the Client Services Manager, Lia Boddington, who was the rudest, most aggressive person I have ever come across. She's incredibly patronising, sent me multiple emails bordering on harassment demanding the clinical records for my cat. At no point did Lia ask how my cat was or try to fix the problem! Lia seems to think she is the Clincal Director and can make all the decisions, actually she’s just an admin member of staff who isn’t a registered veterinary professional!

Downland vets Chichester.

Downland vets Chichester.I took my 15 year old family dog to be euthanized, she was struggling to carry on.We wanted our pet cremated and I filled the paperwork to say this. I had to keep chasing them, asking if my pet was back and ready to come home. After 2 weeks I had a phone call to let me know, that due to HUMAN ERROR they had forgotten my pet, she was still sat in the freezer!! As a good will gesture they would refund my cremation fee.. I was told my pet would be sent off the next day and returned a week later! It wasn't worth them paying for a different courier as it would only be a day early we would get our pet back...We collected our pet that evening and buried her in our garden. We didn't trust this vets to do the correct thing after such a terrible blunder. Please be careful when using these vets. I will never use them again for our other dog!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE

I would just like to WARN everybody about the Downland vets in Bognor. We took my cat here for an examination as he seemed unwell, we were urged into agreeing to have him hospitalised overnight and told this was the best option for him as he would receive treatment and medication for his pain. Our cat died in their care only a few hours after without us even being ableWe have now been made aware by a vet who also works for Downland vets that in the cats condition it would have been kinder for the cat to have been put down, as even with the medication he still would have been in massive agony during the hours he spent hospitalised. The vet who was treating my cat at the time completely failed to mention this to us and didn’t even give us the option of having the cat put to sleep which is the kinder option we would have chosen but instead he pushed us into having the cat receive a treatment which has only 4% success rate and put my cat through a lot of suffering which could have been avoided had we been properly informed of the severity of the situation and of the option to have him put to sleep. Clearly they were more interested in the money they were making from the unnecessary treatments than the welfare of my cat. we didn’t even get a chance to say good bye but in fact they tried to talk us out of coming to see him .Absolutely 0 sympathy was shown from the vet. Would urge anyone to avoid the Downland vets in Bognor and instead go elsewhere because I will regret bringing my pet here for the rest of my life

I highly recommend Fitzpatrick referrals

I would like to share my experience with this fantastic clinic and their staff: my dog, schnauzer miniature, 10 years old, was diagnosed with sarcoma ( soft tissue cancer ). Being an oncologist myself, I was very worried. I was referred to Fitzpatrick and I could not be more grateful to their staff, a senior vet clinician called Dr Jonathan Bray showed a lot of knowledge and confidence, he advised a reconstructive surgery with skin graft ( flap). The surgery was successful, the skin flap healed really well and the prognosis is excellent. I was impressed with this clinic ( from the first day Dr Bray examined my dog until the day my dog went back home). I highly recommend Fitzpatrick referrals.

Downlands (whose negligence killed my…

Update. Trust pilot have to be rated as the go to source for reviews, they have respectfully not deleted my review (as google have) trying to warn other pet owners but also registered a complaint by the people I am trying to warn other pet owners against.(Fitzpatricks, Jonathan Bray & Mike McFarlane)A vet at a practice of family vets in west sussex (I will not name for legal reasons) confirmed the administration of chemotherapy 'Doxorubicin' by Jonathan Bray of Fitzpatricks was the reason Flopsy was now suffering heart damage, internal organ failure & total hind leg paralysis, not the cancer that Fitzpatricks best in the country 160 slice CT scan could not detect as being the cause which Jonathan Bray said was probable cause.Jonathan Bray was absent as our specialist consultant the second time we visited with Flopsy although was seen from he car park walking up the stairs of Fitzpatricks glass oncology building in Guildford when we attended. It has since been discovered that Downland vets, who advertise themselves as 'family vets' are indeed owned by IVC, a corporation that has bought up over 400 family vets in the past 12 months, do not have an 'owner' as replies to on Google reviews & are in fact a non accountable corporation with police in their back pockets for hire to intimidate people like myself that have lost their family & best friend due to their proveable negligence. My research on oncology & the administration of drugs knowingly causing severe internal cardiac & other damage plus paralysis mean my allegations against Fitzpatrick's employees stand. They are within their legal rights to refute such.Update. on Friday 16th November, my friend, who allowed me to temporarily register my cats at her address & vets (Downlands, whose negligence killed Flopsy) had police banging hell out of her door looking for me on behalf of Downlands / Fitzpatricks for writing the below review.Downlands (whose negligence killed my cat Flopsy) AND Fitzpatricks have somehow removed my (Googlereview) last week of their knowingly torturous slow death of my cat (Flopsy) through their disease experimentation which they knew in advance would have no effect other than causing immense pain, suffering & torture to my family, friend & emotional support pet of 11 years.Google is supposed to be an independant site where people can leave facts & warn others so negligence does not kill their pets, not one that can be manipulated by guilty parties.Jonathan Bray & Mike McFarlane , Oncologists at Fitzpatrick referrals should be behind bars for animal abuse & cruelty. If there is such an equivalent of criminal negligence manslaughter then I formally accuse them of such, along with Noel Fitzpatrick & his employee Tasha who subjected me to a tirade of abuse via phone (phonecall recorded & will be published) on behalf of Jonathan Bray, the entire oncology team & Fitzpatricks itself.Tasha made it very clear that Fitzpatricks consider their client to be the referring vets, not you the owner, & that they would not tolerate any criticism whatsoever of their 'clients, the referring vets'.The referring vets in Flopsy's case were Downland veterinary group (Bognor Regis branch) corporation not family vets.On 1st August 2018 I took Flopsy to vet Paul Tucker (of DVG)with a minute lump on her mammary tract, Paul Tucker said 'This was ok & nothing to worry about', a week later I took Flopsy back with an enlarged inguinal lymph node, the lump on her mammary tract was very early stage cancer but had now metasticised. Paul Tucker also examined her sister 'Twinkle' on the same day where I pointed out a lump on Twinkle's neck, Paul Tucker also said this was nothing to worry about, the following week Twinkle had this lump with large section removed (by her old vet of 7 years) for being an injection site carcoma, Twinkle was last injected by Paul Tucker. A very nasty individual at Downland vets by the name of Ben Trimmer threatened me with the police for my threats to expose them & warn other pet owners.Anyone reading this please warn as many people as you can against Fitzpatrick referrals & Downland vets, Fitzpatricks have a total disregard for your pet or you, they are a disease experimentation centre that will knowingly kill your pet in agony through their drugs. Please see the reviews I have left for Downland vets also, there is more detail. I will be setting up a website called 'The Flopsy Foundation (For feline mammary cancer)' I will be publishing the abusive phonecall from Fitzpatricks and proof that they fully know the administration of chemotherapy to a cat with this condition will not help in the slightest but cause severe internal damage to the cat & nerve damage, in Flopsy's case total paralysis of her hind legs for the past 6 weeks of her life. What you see on tv regarding Fitzpatricks care & concern is a farce, Fitzpatrick himself was addressed on this issue 2 months ago, he has failed to even personally acknowledge what amounts to the torture, abuse & murder of my best friend who is now in a casket in front of me having been cremated last Thursday. To RVC , I, Lee David GillilandFormally accuse vets Paul Tucker and Ben Trimmer, of Downland veterinary group (corporation) of the criminal negligence manslaughter of my cat, best friend, only family and emotional support pet.(Guide dog to blind person equivalent)I further accuse Ben Trimmer & Lia Boddington, also of DVG, of the attempted cover up of this through direct threats & intimidation of & by purchaseable authorities for corporate hire & the removal of Google reviews attempting to warn other pet owners.I further accuse Fitzpatricks referrals oncologists, Jonathan Bray, Mike McFarlane & Noel Fitzpatrick of animal cruelty & abuse & knowingly subjecting pets to torture to satisfy their own ends in disease experimentation where the animal/pet is of no consideration ( proveable through covert voice recordings).Kindly acknowledge receipt by return email without delay.Mr L GillilandRVC have failed to respond to date, I also reported to RSPCA.
