We’ve just dropped off our Renault AustralE to Rafal at Manchester Airport after having had the car for 5 weeks. Rafal organised us with our booking and told us we’d love the car! We did! Perfect size, a hybrid with great economy…and the most amazing lady living inside the Satnav! She navigated us over 2500 miles. The shuttle bus back to the airport was timely and the driver lovely. I’d definitely book through Rafal and Drivalia next time I fly into Manchester - stress free and friendly service. We highly recommend them.
We had a terrible experience with this company. We arrived to Edinburgh airport and waited more than 40 minutes for a shuttle bus to take us to the company which is about 15 minutes from the airport itself. When we arrived, with a Northern Irish driver's license, we were told we couldn't rent our car without a paper counterpart or a check code from DVA. We have rented many cars in the UK and never had this problem before. The man at the desk was grumpy and very unhelpful. As the DVA office was closed he told us he could not rent us a car. His colleague told us no other rental agency in Scotland would rent us a car without either a counterpart or DVA check. We went to Hertz instead, had the loveliest experience with a very helpful attendant and rented a car with ease - without requiring either of these things. We will not rent from drivalia again - luckily we booked through booking.com and not directly with their company so we got a full refund.
Absolutely disgusting how they try to rip you off. I’ve been today to collect the car I booked at Manchester airport a VW Polo, our flight was delayed and by the time they picked us up and went round to each terminal we arrived 2 hours later than the booked time. They said that the car we had booked was now not available but we could have one of these three cars that were available. The cheapest was double what we had booked the second and third options were 4 and 5 times the amount. We said that this was unacceptable and it wasn’t our fault we were 2 hours later than the pick up time. We decided that they didn’t deserve our custom and left. If they care about customer service they would have given us any car they had as we booked a car and if they passed it to someone else that’s not our fault.
