Review Time
I recently dealt with Mariam at Heathrow, whilst she did offer me more expensive cars initially (which aligns with other reviews) i did very clearly explain i could not afford and she went out of her way to accommodate me at very short notice and much sooner than my allocated pick up time. Mariam was lovely and if you are lucky enough to get her i am sure you will have a very pleasant experience. I will use Europcar again as the check in and check back process was without fault and i received an extremely nice car. Thanks Mariam, i really appreciated your effort.
Unbelievably poor service from Europcar.I hired a car from monday 25th November until 1pm on 30th November. The Warrington branch I had used previously on visiting the uk was always very good.However, on Saturday I returned the car an hour earlier than booked. Nobody was present to receive the car. The drop off box was sealed.After contacting europcar more than 8 times, I was literally pushed from pillar to post. I was told to leave the keys inan unlocked car, but told I'd be liable for any theft or damage. One operator even had me connected to an employee who left four years ago.Atrocious service from the company. To add insult further, I was also told to take the car to a liverpool depot more than 15 miles away.As a visitor to the UK for a brief visit, I can only describe my experience on Saturday as unprofessional, shoddy and less than second rate.I have asked for the transcripts of my calls which I'm sure won't materialise. I eventually had to leave the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside the glovebox as I had already missed one train but couldn't miss another. My leaving the vehicle at 13.20 being massively inconvenient for me causing disruption to the rest of my already tight schedule.
Absolute cowboy outfit Charged me an extra day because they dropped the car off early and picked it up on time. I had no control over the drop up or pick up time. So they scammed me out of an extra days rent. I tried to complain several time but they either didn’t reply or twisted my complaint to put me in the wrong. I will never use them again and I suggest you don’t
There were warning lights on in the van, low oil, exhaust. Also while driving had a warning that Ad Blue will run out in 170 miles, it was less than 20 miles left on return.I needed to clean the inside of the windscreen as I couldn't see much when the sun was in front of me. The outside of the van was dirty as well
Despite renting a fully insured car from Europcar switzerland , agreement number 50873110 with the highest insurance coverage, I faced a serious safety issue due to a faulty satnav that led me over a dangerous mountain route. When I called Europcar Assistance, they failed to respond. I had to involve the police, who sent emergency services to tow the car to safety, costing me 200 CHF. To my shock, Europcar refused to cover the towing charges and provided zero support throughout the ordeal. Extremely disappointing experience with no accountability or customer support
Paid an up front discounted fee in the UK prior to departure to Spain. On pick up I was charged a further 135% more by Europcar staff a total rip off. Have always used Europcar in the EU but I won't be using them again after this experience. Customer satisfaction clearly not high on their agenda!!
Don't bother. Worst hire company I know, book a vehicle on line take your money then ring and tell you they don't have any vehicles available and have to wait for a refund days later. No apology no care.Cant delete my account or details.Will never use again
Had a car reserved for 9am was still waiting for it at 5pm. Called them several times but they were extremely unhelpful. Asked to be put through to complaints dept and the phone got hung up on me. I would never use this company again and would not recommend anyone else do so either
Avoid! I was promised a hired car today (Friday). Was informed at 2.40pm that they are low in fleet and I won’t get a car until Monday morning. I am disabled, live in a small village and now immobilised.The operator wanted me to be sympathetic to their situation and also told me that all managers had left until Monday, which I don’t believe. Find another car hire firm.
Awful service - they took the money for a booking then cancelled the booking and will pay money back in 3-10 working days - leaving me stranded - awful company - then the customer service lady said no manager is available but when I pushed her she said let me see if the manager is available - seriously rubbish misleading company
