Turned up at the Oxford branch the evening before a planned international trip to pick up furniture from my parent's place in France, only to be told that the booked van had been cancelled as they didn't have any available. This is after spending £300 plus on hotels and the channel crossing.Their support team are still insisting they sent an email 3 days before the booking, but this simply isn't true - it certainly never reached my inbox, and I don't delete emails, so it would still be there if they had sent it. In fact Europcar sent me three emails during the booking process (so the email address they have for me is clearly correct and not going to the junk folder) one to confirm the booking, one 3 days before reminding me to bring my driving license, and one literally 1 hour before the booking saying "You're going to get the keys at Oxford and you're ready to hit the road"!!If you need a van ad-hoc and are willing to try again another weekend, then go for it, but if you need it as part of a bigger plan, maybe find somewhere a bit more reliable.
Never book a car from them, my girlfriend book a car but they where late she text them that she will be late and also they can see what flight is late and so on, but they don’t care . You will come to collect car and they are close .Your holiday started bad beacuse of them. Do not book with them!!!
Customer service telephone support is shocking. Impossible to get any answers. They transfer you to different departments who transfer you back to the same department. Or just give you a number and say Option 3 and Option 2, where they give you the same answer. Unable to speak to Branch about the delivery of my reservation. Tells you to visit the website for support and hangs up. Avoid at all costs. Not sure if ill ever get my car hire reservation.
I hired a car on the 28th November from Manchester airport and the man (unfortunately, I can’t remember his name and can’t read his writing) was so nice and helpful. He ran me through everything I needed to know and even told me about the free shuttle I could use the week after to get to the terminal. 100% recommend.
I rented a car for 1 day but they charged me for 2 days. I also put petrol in the car, But they got the petrol fee from me. They refunded the petrol amount. Although I went to the branch 3-4 times for 1 month, they did not refund the extra rent amount.
Ongoing from my previous review of this company. I used 1ltr of fuel as I only did 7 miles in the inappropriate car they supplied to me. It was a sports car, so low it gave me terrible back pain (I have osteoporosis and have had 3 x spinal fractures along with fibromyalgia) I could only manage 4 miles never used car again! Now they have had the cheek to send me a bill for £26.21 for 13ltrs!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Apart from abuse received from a member of staff in rental dept, they now insult me by asking for this!
Ordered car hire online through Expedia pre paid collection from EUROPCAR.When my wife collected they asked her to pay for insurance protection which we already had.After the agreement had finished EUROPCAR car had taken out the full car hire cost so we basically paid twice.
I rented a car for 1 day but they charged me for 2 days. Although they admitted their mistake and apologized, they did not deposit the money back. I've been to the branch 4-5 times, I've emailed customer service, they are absolutely not interested.
Beware of renting with Europcar UK. Hidden in the small print is that the company will pay any parking fines you receive while hiring the car whether the fine is valid or not. Once a fine is paid you cannot appeal it which leaves you in a catch 22 situation. They will then charge you 45 pounds for administration and take the full amount from your credit card even if you are not guilty. Best practice hirersvwill always give the customer chance to appeal a fine before paying it.
