What a rude and obnoxious telesales person. I wanted to extend my rental and when I questioned why it had gone up £20 in a week, he said that was the price that had come up on his screen, that's fine but his manner was quite rude and it just went downhill from there when my card was declined,I asked to be transferred to Prestwick, but was told that's not going to do you any good as they have the same equipment as themselves. I had to shout over him are you listening to me. Crazy... couldn't be more different to the Prestwick team. Very polite and helpful.
Further to my other review I now have their collections team demanding £54.80, from an invoice that is basically borderline fraudulent!I cannot speak to the branch in Swindon as they do not answer their phone line. I state DO NOT USE this company under any circumstances they either do not know what they are doing or are just untrustworthy full stop.5 days for branch to investigate customer services give them is up and now £250 down - will seek legal action if necessary.Update you have finally responded and offered me £225.04 back you still owe me the remaining amount as the van was not returned late either!! I’ve given up talking to Samuel in customer services as he is not responding to the emails.Still waiting for my money which you hang on to for up to 10 days. Finally had the word sorry used in one email about time! Also writing off £54.80 I never owed you in the 1st place is a poor choice of words. I still want my £24.96 back as that is a late vehicle charge that doesn’t exist as the vehicle was returned on time after 3 days not 8 days as you have already established due to lack of documentation as you put it !
Do not use under any circumstances, fraudulent made up charges out of our account . Dropped car with full tank and they still say despite there driver photographing the full tank that we owe them money. CON ARTISTS . DONT TOUCH EITH A BARGEPOLE !! You will be conned out of money
It's such a shame when an employee of a firm can be so destructive reputationally to them.I made a complaint about a young man on the desk at Gatwick over 6 weeks ago, and am still awaiting a response [despite being promised feedback after a week]The young man in question had clearly taken aganist me, which was unfortunate, as we had been travelling all day, were tired, and was hoping to pick our our pre-booked car from the airport without incident. However this individual seemed to have decided that our business was unwelcome, and proceeded to make this simple piece of administration as difficult and irritating for us as possible. Little tricks, such as demanding that I wrote personal details on a post it, that were already on the booking form, conduct DVLA checks [that i had never been asked to do in the past] fill in paperwork with details already given, and change the booked vehicle for a completely different vehicle, which ended up further as a completely different vehicle once in the lot collecting it [he gave us a Skoda, which clearly was our 'punishment' for daring to challenge him! -I'm pleased to report that the Skoda was excellent, and I enjoyed using it!!!]It was all rather surprising. I've been hiring vehicles fairly frequently for over 30 years, and Europcar was even our contractor at a couple of firms where I have worked, and we never had any issues.I have filled out countless booking forms, had my license inspected [which is clean and long standing] and never had a claim on a hire ever.Perhaps one of their bods will see this, and finally deign to respond to this very annoyed customer one day...
Made me upload all documents and then on rental day asked for them all again at the office. I was then told sorry you cant hire a car as computer says no. I am not buying the car just hiring it. Why they need a credit check is beyond me i had the money in the bank and on credit card but they refused said to email them and dispute it. Had to hire elsewhere last minute £150 more thanks a lot. Will never recommend these to anyone
One journey, one evening, c. £130 miles - filled the tank up on return: £83. Clearly it hadn't been given to me full of fuel: polite email to Europcar ... reply informed me I was fortunate not to be charged more as the tank wasn't completely full when I returned it, end of case for them. Hire charge, insurance and fuel... the most expensive short journey I have ever taken! In any other walk of life, this would be simple fraud or sharp practice... Europcar, one to avoid I think...
Just hired a van for 24hrs from the Southampton branch. On collecting the vehicle it was filthy dirty inside and out for which the staff member apologised,, explaining they were short staffed.Just received my final invoice to see I have been charged an additional £114 on top of the original £66 hire, for apparently an additional 559 miles above the 250 allowance. I covered a total of 108 miles in the 24hr hire, so not sure where they have recorded 809 miles from ?Just spoken to their customer service advisor and they will investigate this over the next 3-5 working days, including vehicle tracking information which will clearly show their mistake. In the meantime they get to hold onto my money !!CHECK YOUR VEHICLE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOUR HIRE AND BACK IN AGAIN.
