This is the worst insurance company I…

This is the worst insurance company I have ever worked with. Farmer's bought MetLife (was my insurer) and it was a year of hell. I have never had a claim with them. I left them and next thing I know, I get a collection notice for $58.00. I never knew there was an outstanding balance. Just a terrible company all around.

Absolutely horrendous company with…

Absolutely horrendous company with Despicable employees. We got in an accident that wasn't our fault. The person that hit us had farmers. They ran us around in circles for a month. Ended up giving us just under 10k and to replace our vehicle was almost 30. We were out 2 weeks of work because of this. And even though we sent them everything they asked us for financial proof they just kept running us around and running us around and refused to pay anything. Absolutely horrible horrible company. And their attitude was nonchalant. Now I'm caring. Their job is just to keep putting you off until you give up. Absolutely horrible employees. So for an accident that wasn't ours were out almost 30k. Do not use this company ever

I had a small VERY SMALL accident in September 2022. When I got my renewal I felt at the time my increase was exhorbitant. i am here to tell you it is not their fault. Why people have the audacity to file injurious claims to collect from your insurance. THIS HURTS YOU TOO. This is not a victimless crime. They have been working diligently to resolve this. I had a minor accident in April 2024, when stopped at a light, and a young person hit me straight in the back. I was blessed not to be injured. The car sustained minor damage. It ended right there.

Unprofessional service and refusal to pay

We are leaving farmers insurance after 10 to 12 years of being with them. About three years ago we had a slab leak and insurance paid for everything minus our deductible. The process was very smooth. This year we had four more slab leaks and insurance only paid for one of them and then we had to have a complete home rep pipe, which insurance would not pay for. we had to have the bathroom tile replaced because of the slab leaks and insurance only paid for a portion of that. We are having to come up with another $1400 to pay the tile company. We had several leaks in our roof, which insurance would not pay for as well. I ended up having to stay in the house for two extra weeks without water because our insurance adjuster refused to pay for any more hotel stays. They made us purchase things upfront and then reimburse us which in the past insurance would give the client the money so that the client had the money to pay the contractor. we ended up having to get a HELOC loan and now we are over $50,000 in debt. These are things insurance should pay for. The way we see it is why are we paying for insurance if they are not going to help us when disaster strikes. Our adjusters were really hard to work with, never returned phone calls or emails unless we went above their head and contacted their supervisor. They were never accommodating or nice to us when we spoke to them. We went through two different adjusters who happened to be brothers in the Tulsa area. Very unprofessional and just left a bad taste in our mouth. This has been a six month ordeal. We are finished with this company!!! Jason and Bryan Wagner were the two difficult adjusters we had the pleasure of dealing with for six months by the way.

Orchestrated changes

Like many in CA, fire insurance policy non-renewed in 2024. Agent helped find other coverage, but Farmers did not write. Now it appears related that the 2nd stage of this plan was to delete all home/auto discounts, which they implemented at the first opportunity right after fire insurance was no longer with Farmers. Gave my agent a chance to requote auto after this discount was pulled. Not only did he not acknowledge why it happened but blamed it on the fact I didn't post updated annual mileage in their site; another premeditation and acted like it was my fault. Sad situation and I will be cancelling. It was good while it lasted.

I had been with Farmers for years

I had been with Farmers for years, I moved to a different state and was told that Farmers could not insure the house that I bought and the vehicle that I have had for years. I have not any problems ie: tickets or accident with my vehicle. So I had obtained a different insurance company saving me more than 1000.00 dollars a year. I had notified Farmers Insurance and sent the necessary paper work to cancel as of 4/2024. I kept on receiving bills from Farmers even though I had cancelled the insurance. I spoke to multiple Farmers insurance representatives and emailed the paper work a total as of today 8/6/2024 4 times and emailed the paper work a total of 4 times. The representative (4) different ones would state that they had not received the paper work and that I had to resend the paper work. I found out today that my insurance with Farmers was cancelled due to " non payment" and that the account was sent to a collections agency. I went to the BBB website and Farmers is not accredited with the BBB. I am so frustrated.

Bad experience with Farmers …

We've been with Farmers in Springfield / Ozark Mo. for 10 years with several automobiles. a home, and rv insurance .Our payments have always been on time. The company has had 4 new brokers in the last year and a half.Tornados have passed close several times in the past three years doing minimal damage to our home property which is a rare occurrence and the prior 7 years and no claims This is nature (act of God) and no fault of ours. Now comes Farmers with a consultation notice saying we no longer meet their requirements. What is insurance for?I'm contacting the federal insurance commission for help on the matter.

Jaw-dropping incompetence

Farmers is not my insurance carrier, but I had to deal with them recently after a car accident that was the fault of one of their customers. The car was declared totaled, although still completely driveable. They told me, not once, but twice that I needed to notify a repair shop to release my car to Farmers, even though my car was not at either shop. One of their few prompt actions was then to immediately notify me that they wouldn't be responsible for storage charges. They changed claims adjusters repeatedly, to the point where even the local Farmers office didn't know which adjuster I was dealing with. When they sent me to assessment of my car's value, they requested that I sign a form electronically. Two places in the instructions it said the name on the form had to exactly match the name on my car title, which it didn't; however, there was no way for me to change the name on the electronic form. After 4 days of trying repeatedly to reach the claims adjuster by email and phone, I gave up and electronically signed the form. In several weeks of dealing with various claims adjusters, none ever answered a call. My calls always went to voicemail. Five business days after I started trying to reach them, I finally received an email response telling me that the name on the form was correct, even though I had the title and could see that it wasn't. Apparently it didn't really matter, because they then told me that a check had been issued. Seven days later, the check still hadn't arrived, but it was a good thing, because I got an email saying the check was issued for the wrong amount, and they had stopped payment on it. It also warned that I shouldn't cash or deposit the check because they wouldn't be responsible for any related bank fees. I did finally receive the check for the correct amount, and the check cleared, but this process was exceedingly frustrating and stressful. I hope I never have to deal with this company again!

Not full-fledged people

Lewisville Farmers agent "Sam Awesome" was complicit in a vicious crime committed against me by his psychopathic relative. His sister was also in the porn industry. I reported this crime to the district manager and only received the silent treatment in response so to make it clear these nasty critters don't care about people and their activity isn't about helping the community. Rather, it's about taking people's money and enriching themselves at your expense. This Farmers franchise was guilty of destroying my family's property, not paying for it.

  • In 1928, two men shared a dream of providing a quality insurance product at a reasonable price. In the decades that followed we’ve grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of Americans. But one constant has remained: We have an unwavering commitment to uphold our founding ideals to provide industry-leading products and first-rate services to the customers we’re privileged to serve.

    Different Eras, Same Exceptional Service
Farmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans.
In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you.
Today, the companies comprising the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies make up one of the country's largest insurers of vehicles, homes and small businesses and provide a wide range of other insurance and financial services products.
Farmers is proud to serve more than 10 million households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 21,000 employees.
The Farmers Exchanges are three reciprocal insurers (Farmers Insurance Exchange, Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange) owned by their policyholders, and together with their subsidiaries and affiliates comprise the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. Farmers Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries, in their capacity as attorneys-in-fact, provide administrative and management services to the Farmers Exchanges.
