⭐ 1 StarI had an absolutely terrible experience with Foremost Insurance/Farmers and their bad faith claim denial tactics. I filed a claim for vandalism and burglary at my insured rental property on November 6, 2024. Despite providing clear documentation of ongoing repairs and security upgrades, they wrongfully denied my claim on January 29, 2025, falsely stating that my property was "vacant" for over 30 days.🚩 Major Issues with Foremost Insurance:❌ False Claim of Vacancy – My policy clearly states that a property under repair is NOT considered vacant, yet Foremost ignored invoices proving repairs through November 2024 and denied my claim anyway.❌ Delayed & Unprofessional Handling – It took weeks to even get a response from an adjuster, and my claim was transferred without notice multiple times. When I finally got to speak with a manager, they admitted their team was slow but did nothing to fix it.❌ Serious Financial Losses – Because of their refusal to pay, I am losing over $2,000 per month in mortgage payments, taxes, utilities, and maintenance because I can’t rent the property in its damaged state.❌ Ignored Key Evidence – I submitted contractor invoices, security system records, and emails documenting their delays, and Foremost still refused to reconsider.💡 If you are thinking of using Foremost for home or rental property insurance, DON’T. They will find any excuse to deny your claim and make you jump through hoops while you lose money.I have already filed formal complaints with the Illinois Department of Insurance, the Attorney General, and the Better Business Bureau. If you’ve had a similar experience, I suggest you do the same.Foremost Insurance is the definition of bad faith insurance practices—stay away! 🚨
Do NOT ever, for any reason, deal with Farmers/Foremost insurance company. Just don't. Their customer service is very poor; they will leave you on hold for hours, then hang up on you without ever answering the call. They will NOT send you a refund if it's due and I am considering hiring an attorney to get my $785 back.
It will take me too long to explain how this company lied to me and refused to renew my homeowners policy after 17 years without a claim and no issues whatsoever with my house. They assured me 4 times that they had resolved an issue they were mistaken on and now claim there is no evidence of that or the many hours I spent on the phone with them "fixing" it.
We were rear ended in our Ford F150 by a Dodge Ram that had a huge bull guard on the front. It completely totaled our truck. My husband and daughter were seriously injured, the impact was so hard. Our truck was in great condition and had a resell value of over $31,000. Our insurance offered high value of $31,000 and Farmers offered $27,000. We rejected their offer, and never signed paperwork, and told them we are accepting our insurance's offer, but they sent a check and never returned the calls to the claims dept. of our insurance, who needed them to release possession of our truck. Farmers is a rip-off, they charge the highest rates in the nation and low balls victims of their insureds. They really don't even deserve 1 star.
I was involved in an accident where the police report incorrectly cited me and omitted the name of a key witness. I promptly informed my insurance company, provided all relevant details, and even submitted a recorded conversation with the witness as supporting evidence.Despite my cooperation and the availability of clear proof, the company declined to consider the evidence and informed me that the case had to be closed within one month. As a result, the other party was compensated while my insurance premium increased significantly.I am deeply disappointed by the lack of diligence and fairness shown in handling my claim. This experience reflects poor investigative practice and disregard for customer-provided evidence.
Absolutely outrageous customer service. Their claims department is populated with disingenuous people who lie - Elizabeth Cruz and Monica Ivicevic - who talk an circles to avoid accountability and taking responsibility for APPALLING CISTONER SERVICE - they won’t investigate Farmers own customer service even though you called them to investigate insurance fraud - they operate without any regard to the facts, give the benefit of the doubt to others, and screwed me out of a my good driver discount, without my knowledge for a suspicious claim I could have settled on my own. This is an awful company that is not to be trusted
Long story short I rented my car to a man, and he had it stolen while working for Uber Eats. The insurance company classified the car as salvage and made a lowball offer. I appealed, and they increased the offer.I accept expected deduction than need to be paid by man I rent out because he is the insurer . Then the car was found, but the insurance company withdrew their offer. Now I have a car with a title in written there offer and Cari’s classified as salvage, and they're also saying they will apply a $2,500 deduction if there's a problem, but they don't specify what that problem is. I live in abroad and make me hard time last 2 weeks. This is a complete mess with the company. Now, I definitely need a lawyer , flight ticket and accommodations .
My mom recently died and I am paying her bills. Her insurance was $212/month. After her death they raise it to $265/month. Then they send me bills asking me to pay the rest of her policy for the year and they will reimburse once we cancel the policy (no longer needed). I tell them they can’t reimburse her because she has died. Long story short I am told to pay $517 now and $116 on 11/8 and that should cover home and auto through 02/01. I pay them the $517 and THAT SAME DAY they send me another bill for $546 due in 8 days! Shameless!
This company is ridiculous the main agent is rude. I had money taken out of my account to the tune of 192.00 and ...... I'm NOT A CUSTOMER! And never have been, and after my experience with these horrible people I never would! After reading all the reviews I see I'm not alone, Perhaps BBB should be involved? I'm so sorry for you folks that are customers. Hope you can resolve your problems with them. As for me .. I am out 192.00..bought them cheap!! Have a nice day folks!

Different Eras, Same Exceptional Service
Farmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans.
In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you.
