Review Time
I’m writing this review after spending over two months trying to correct an issue Farmers admitted was their fault and still being told I must pay for a policy period that was wrongfully canceled due to their internal administrative error.Despite never missing a payment and having a clean driving record, my policy was canceled behind the scenes, and I wasn’t made aware until other insurers flagged it as a lapse. In fact, my LexisNexis report shows zero lapse in coverage but Farmers refuses to fix the broader record unless I pay for coverage I never had. It’s a clear case of "we messed up, now you pay to fix it."What’s worse is I’ve since learned multiple others have had this same issue with Farmers all pressured to pay retroactive premiums just to clean up Farmers' reporting mistakes.I’ve wasted hours on formal complaints, phone calls, and documentation just trying to clear my name so I can get a fair rate from a different provider. I’ve asked, respectfully and repeatedly, for a resolution that reflects the facts and allows me to move on. So far? No accountability. If you value your time, your money, or your peace of mind... look elsewhere.
Astronomically high rates for auto and home owners insurance when we have not had a claim on over 30 years for any insurance companies, but premiums went up every 6 months. Just got the same coverage and a bit more for about $2200 less per year! Stay away from Farmers insurance!
# Review: Farmers/Foremost Insurance - Claim Experience## 1-Star Rating ★☆☆☆☆After 10 years as a Farmers/Foremost policyholder with consistent on-time premium payments, I am documenting my recent experience with an interior drywall damage claim. The facts of the situation are as follows:1. Farmers/Foremost has acknowledged that my interior drywall damage is covered under my policy.2. The insurance company has issued payment of approximately $700 for the covered damage.3. I have obtained three separate professional contractor quotes for the necessary repairs. The lowest quote is $3,500, and this does not include all required materials.4. When presented with these three independent professional quotes, Farmers/Foremost representatives stated that all three quotes were "unreasonable" and suggested I continue searching for lower-cost options.5. Upon inquiry, the claims representative, Kevin Moser, explained that the $700 payment amount was determined by inputting data into a spreadsheet program that calculated the payment, without apparent consideration for actual repair costs in my area.6. My premium payments to Farmers/Foremost over my 10-year history as a policyholder exceed the amount of this claim. When I inquired about this fact, the representative declined to address the question.7. This matter has remained unresolved for one month despite multiple communications with my broker, contractors, and Farmers/Foremost representatives.8. Communications with Farmers/Foremost have been consistently one-sided; representatives do not return calls unless repeatedly contacted. The end result is that I must pay over $2,800 out of pocket for repairs that Farmers/Foremost has acknowledged are covered under my policy.I am providing this information so that other consumers can make informed decisions regarding their insurance provider selection.
I would not recommend going with Farmers Insurance. I had a situation happen in my condo back in March where my toilet leaked and ended up damaging the two units below me. Plumber came out and fixed the leak and had the paperwork coded in the way where it was one of those things happen situations and it wasn't a thing of improper maintenance and they denied the claim for the repairs in my unit, and then they proceeded to deny the claim for the repairs that happened in the two units below me because they claimed that the bylaws for my Homeowner Association were written in a way that waived all responsibilities even if the fault occurred from my unit which sounds like total BS. I've probably given Farmers Insurance 18,000 since I moved into my condo 5 years ago and with this situation occurring I got screwed out of a $7,000 claim. I'm shopping around for new insurance because if I'm going to pay a homeowner insurance company to do nothing for me when I need them I might as well do it with another place going forward because all the major maintenance has been done in my condominium now. They are a terrible company with terrible ethics and a 50% denial rating. Spend your money elsewhere in look into the reviews of insurance companies because Farmers is a joke when you actually need them. I wouldn't wish their services upon my worst enemy
Title: Farmers Insurance – Bad Faith in Clear Liability ClaimOn March 17, 2025, I was the victim of a hit-and-run accident in Las Vegas caused by a driver working for Uber. Farmers Insurance, who covers the at-fault driver, has already accepted 100% liability.Despite this, Farmers has: • Only offered $18,085, which barely covers hospital charges and would leave me with nothing for lost wages, pain and suffering, anxiety, or ongoing medical problems. • Insisted they must pay the hospital directly due to a supposed lien, yet have never provided proof of any properly recorded lien under Nevada law. • Ignored my repeated requests for documentation and refused to issue funds directly to me, even though I am the injured party. This process has gone on for months. I have not been able to work, I continue to suffer physically and emotionally, and Farmers has made no meaningful effort to resolve this matter in good faith. In my opinion, this is bad faith claims handling. I have filed formal complaints with the Nevada Division of Insurance and the Nevada Attorney General Consumer Protection Bureau, and I will continue to pursue accountability.Consumers should know what they may face if they have to deal with Farmers on a clear liability claim. We had a horrible issue with farmers insurance. My husband got a bundle deal through work. After he retired we didn’t get notified of having to pay out of our checking instead of payroll deduct. So they fixed it and they emailed an auto-deduct form for our checking. He signed it and emailed it back. Then this year rolls around and we cannot renew our plates by mail bc they say we have no insurance. I called Farmers. They said they never got the form and now want thousands of dollars to “start” a new policy. Why didn’t anyone inform us that they didn’t get the form? Our homeowners insurance is through them and we thought it was for our cars too. This is a total racket!
I only got farmers because my company goes through them and I was supposed to be getting a discount if I have the payments come out of my paycheck. When I signed up they said once price. Which was a good one. But a month later I get a letter in the mail saying the price has increased. I asked to have the bill to be taken out of my bank account instead of paycheck because $100 each week is alot.( which they get more in the end). To do so they make it beyond complicated. Print, fill out (paper is complicated as well) then send it back and hope you filled those out correctly. Called to cancel one agent said I just need to pay my last bill. But can't cancel til after then to call back. Asked to talk to someone else. And she said we needed to pay over $1000. Told her I had her and the last agent audio recorded on how you both say 2 different things. She put me on hold came back and said last weeks bill +$20. Was with them 2.5 months. Horrible.
On feb10th 2024, I suffered water damage to some of my personal items damaged by water in my home, the first step was filing a claim with farmers insurance, that process was easy, the next step became a dance of multiple steps, in which farmers sent a third party to my home to take away the less than 10 damaged items. After no follow up with my adjuster I started making calls , which was unanswered, next step I reach out to a supervisor, with farmers and more dancing around with reimbursement and numerous of failed emails sent by farmers with the list of contents, we are now more thsn s month into my claim, and I still don’t have any resolve to my claim filing or status, I’m so disappointed with farmers

Different Eras, Same Exceptional Service
Farmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans.
In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you.
