The same experience as the others

The same experience as the others. I did manage to get my money back from Revolut. 5 stars to Revolut, and zero stars to booking.com and their car ental subsidiary who still promote them and with good (apparently false) reviews.

No no no no no don't do it

Used first rent a car on new year's Eve via booking.com, 28 working days after return and all no deposit. Absolute scammers week never use them again. Nice car eventually after the BMW with diesel fumes coming into the car but add 1000 BGN to whatever price a website offers the car at to get the real cost and go elsewhere.

Complaint Against First Rental Cars and Rental Cars Regarding Poor Service and Financial Exploitatio

I would like to share my extremely disappointing and distressing experience with First Rental Cars Bulgaria and Rental Cars, which not only caused significant financial loss but also left me feeling intimidated and unprotected as a customer. On October 2nd, 2023, I arrived in Sofia, Bulgaria, after a delayed flight from Brussels. When I went to the First Rental Cars counter at the airport, it was closed despite it still being within their listed working hours. I called the contact number provided, which turned out to be a personal mobile number instead of a professional line. The representative claimed I was "late," even though my flight delay was beyond my control and I was still within their business hours. The situation worsened when the company representative arrived at Terminal 2 to meet us—not in a uniform and driving the car I had rented, which already had a baby seat installed (something I had not requested). Instead of processing the rental at a professional counter or office, the documentation and the deposit payment were handled in a parking lot near Terminal 1, which felt highly unprofessional and suspicious.I was instructed that the car must be returned to the same parking lot and that I should call the same personal mobile number 30 minutes before the return. On October 6th, 2023, at 10:00 AM, a different individual—also not in uniform—arrived to collect the car. This person barely communicated with us, did not provide any confirmation or documentation regarding the return, and left us feeling completely abandoned by the lack of professionalism and transparency.Following this, I engaged in numerous email exchanges with Rental Cars, during which they asked me to contact my bank to attempt a chargeback since they were unable to get in touch with First Rental Cars themselves. They also requested that I provide a document from my bank confirming that a chargeback had not been processed, along with evidence such as my flight details, fuel receipts, and proof of the vehicle's pickup and return. Unfortunately, I could not provide such documentation because First Rental Cars had not issued any of these documents to me during the rental process. The most shocking development came when Rental Cars finally managed to get a response from First Rental Cars Bulgaria. After months of silence, they alleged that the vehicle had a crack in the windshield, which I strongly contest as I have 360° camera footage and photos proving the car was in perfect condition both at the time of pickup and return. Two months later, I was informed by Rental Cars that First Rental Cars Bulgaria claimed the vehicle had been damaged and retained my €511.29 deposit. This accusation is baseless, as I have provided clear evidence to refute it. Their complete lack of communication further highlights their unprofessionalism and intent to exploit customers. This entire experience felt like dealing with loan sharks rather than a reputable car rental company. From the unprofessional conduct at the airport to the fabricated damage claim and refusal to return my deposit, First Rental Cars Bulgaria has proven to be an unscrupulous company. Furthermore, Rental Cars failed to provide any meaningful support, essentially washing their hands of the issue instead of protecting their customers.I strongly advise against using First Rental Cars Bulgaria or booking through Rental Cars. Their lack of professionalism, accountability, and transparent processes creates an unsafe environment for travelers.I hope this review warns others and prompts these companies to rethink their business practices. Travelers deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism, especially when trusting companies with significant financial commitments.
