After years as a customer, they suddenly increased the minimum monthly spend and tripled the disposal costs. They seem to be pushing out smaller customers while raising the minimum to $5,000 in January 2026. I strongly advise against this service.
This service is truly outstanding—from knowledgeable staff to superior technology and execution in shipments. They excel in planning, scheduling, and documentation. I highly recommend them and have utilized their services for over five years across two different businesses.
Working with Flexport has been a game-changer for our business. The digital platform makes it easy to check real-time arrival estimates and track our containers from anywhere. It makes global logistics transparent and manageable. Our AE is always responsive and ready to help with any questions or issues we have. And we appreciate the industry and market intel that Flexport shares daily. The tariff simulator is another standout feature. It's a powerful tool that helps us predict landed costs which is crucial for our financial planning. Personalized service combined with their powerful technology is exactly what we need.
We’re a growing e-commerce company and working with Flexport has been a game changer for us. Their portal with real-time tracking, easy quote requests, and detailed shipment information has streamlined our process and made communication via portal so much easier (compared to previous two logistics companies that worked through email). We especially appreciate the ability to see multiple quote options side by side — the pricing is very competitive, and it gives us confidence we’re making the best decision for each shipment. The product section that houses product information is another great feature; we’d love to see that expanded even further to reduce back-and-forth on details (like country of smelt/cast), but overall it has already been a huge time saver.Highly recommend for any business looking to simplify shipping and keep costs under control.
Like with any relationship, there are always going to be ups and downs, but putting faith in the other party and working together to move forward can pay huge dividends. My small-medium intercontinental manufacturing, brokering, and distributing business was wait-listed in joining Flexport during COVID, and struggling to negotiate the cargo space and price needed to hold our commitments to our distributors and customers. Being patient paid off, with the expected wait cut from six months to 10 weeks. Upgrading from a smaller brokerage that lacked the advanced analytics, automated quoting, consolidated document handling and retrieval, and a myriad other services such as financing, route management, and other user-facing tools and resources helped our business through dire times. During our time with Flexport, we survived COVID, the subsequent supply chain crisis, two tariff debacles, and the endless stream of logistics obstacles from weather, to litigation, to pirates, to infrastructure failures, and they remain a key competitive advantage for our business. Despite being a small-medium business, the international nature of our trade requires we are as current on market conditions and global influences as our larger competitors, so looking past essential services, very few brokers or forwarders offer the educational tools to provide exposure to various global conditions that might hit our shipping lanes or customs filings in the future. Even fewer logistics providers offer the ability to consult directly with leading industry experts. However, regular webinars, calls, and in-person interactions are the norm with Flexport, and they also maintain a stable of economic, customs, ocean & air forwarding, and even finance experts available for consultation. Our Flexport customer service and support staff in the US and Asia couldn't be kinder or more responsive. Although we are not the corporate juggernaut most assume you have to be to receive great service, we are offered unreasonable access to our operations teams and can reach someone nearly around the clock. After half a decade with Flexport, we trust they will continue to offer the advantages of a large tech firm, such as solid funding and reinvestment into improvements, while remaining committed to regular, and even granular, improvements to their UX. It takes a little time, a little trust, and a lot of interactions, but that is no different from any worthwhile relationship. In the end, they rewarded our effort by getting it right, from SOP to individual shipment/customs handling, and remaining committed to building our relationship the right way. For those reasons, I could not be happier with Flexport, and I'm excited about expanding into our other markets beyond North America.
We moved to Flexport when Shopify Fulfillment Network was acquired. For a small DTC brand, our experience has been overwhelmingly negative.Pricing & minimumsAfter the transition, our long term storage cost jumped to ~$7.00 per cubic foot on our invoices. For context, the boutique 3PLs we spoke with quoted $0.25–$0.50/cu ft.We were billed a $500 monthly platform/account fee even in months with little to no activity. We were notified of a new $5,000/month fulfillment fee minimum starting January 2026—owed regardless of order volume.Q4 surcharges increased several line items during peak, pushing effective costs even higher.Service & operationsWe opened multiple tickets regarding shipping and inventory discrepancies; resolution times and outcomes did not meet our expectations.Off-boardingTo move roughly 1.5 pallets of inventory to a new warehouse, we were quoted $7,225 for outbound transfer. That number was 6x above competing quotes we obtained.Given these factors, we’ve chosen to leave Flexport and return to a smaller, boutique 3PL that aligns with our size and service expectations. If you’re a small or mid-size brand on Shopify, consider talking to ShipDaddy, eFulfillment Service, Fetch Fulfillment, OTW Fulfillment, Fulfillrite, or XB Fulfillment—all offered transparent pricing, responsive support, and strong references during our interviews.
Beware the bait and switch. We unfortunately chose Flexport for our company's inventory management because of their advertised fees. Then all of sudden, once our inventory arrived at their warehouse, they changed their fee structure, including a new mandatory minimum that was more than double their previously advertised fees. Bait and switch and price gouging at its worst. So then, we had to ship everything out, at a quite high additional cost. And keep in mind that throughout all this, it's almost impossible to talk to a human. The customer service experience is terrible, which would probably not be a problem, except their software is so unnecessarily complicated to use, with different websites and almost impossible to undo things if you -- God forbid -- make any small error.Worst of all, even after all of our inventory was out, they still charged our account their ridiculous minimum fees, even when we had zero inventory with them. So now we have to fight them to undo these surprise charges. Please beware of doing business with this company. Better options include Shippo or just ask chatGPT, it will suggest probably a dozen better companies to do business with.
Note: I have written less than 5 reviews in my life, and none of those were positive. We recently moved our global customs brokerage operations to Flexport, and the impact has been both immediate and meaningful. Their onboarding process was exceptionally robust, clear timelines, structured documentation requirements, and a proactive approach that ensured our teams were aligned from the start. What stood out most was the improvement in our communication chain. Flexport provides consistent, timely updates and a direct line to knowledgeable specialists, eliminating the gaps and delays we had grown accustomed to with previous providers.Flexport’s global footprint has also proven to be a major advantage. Their understanding of regional compliance nuances and cross-border requirements has strengthened our ability to manage shipments across multiple markets with confidence and efficiency. Their trade advisory team has been instrumental in helping us navigate complex post entry corrections. Their duty drawback recovery and optimization has resulted in a 10x increase in our drawback claims. Flexport identified opportunities we had not previously captured, and their process and support has made recovery more predictable and efficient.Flexport have quickly become a trusted partner in our global trade operations, and we’re confident in their ability to support our continued growth.
My experience as a Flexport customer has been positive all around. I would call particular attention to their outstanding HTS classification and customs teams that have been responsive, knowledgeable, and a considerable resource to my company. Moreover, their online platform has capabilities that are well above those of their competitors. Lastly, all of my contacts there have been professional and responsive to my many inquires.
The worst ever,Cost for fulfillment keeps getting higher and higher to some point if your expenses couldn't reach some certain amount ($500) you will have to pay for the remaining and we are still paying for storage fees beside that. I do not really understand who does that and how it is fair for any merchant. Now i have to start looking for where to move my goods to at my own cost.
