Green King are a brilliant chain

Green King are a brilliant chain. Great properties. Traditional pubs run by loyal and hard working staff. The food has always been well cooked showing that behind the scenes the chefs are as dedicated to the success of the pub as any of the front of house staff. It's very disappointing that the purchasing department allows the butchers to let them down so spectacularly.I have said before that I suspect the buyer is a vegan and has never eaten a steak in one of their pubs. The steak is always tasty but always diabolically tough.Queens head in Burley, Roe Buck in Wych Cross, Beach House in Milford. All have the same problem

Very good food & drink at a very affordable price.

Recently revisited the Pied Calf at Spalding. We both had the fish & chips meal deal at £6.00 each. Brilliant, best fish & chips. Also had a pint of Green King IPA which takes a lot of beating for a real ale. The service was excellent by James who served us and returned to check if everything was ok, which it clearly was. Food delivery was speedy, freshly cooked & piping hot. Cannot fault the experience and will definitely be returning regularly. Overall atmosphere in the pub was very pleasant. Many thanks.

The Junction at Newcastle's Haymarket…

The Junction at Newcastle's Haymarket is an absolute disgrace. The toilets are awful. The whole place needs a refit. I walked in for a drink and walked straight out. The pub smelled of drains. The carpets and furniture are well past their best. Won't be setting foot in there again. Urghh.

Joined the VIPs for the reopening of…VIP opening of the Buff

Joined the VIPs for the reopening of the Buff, my local on the 10th April. Thank you to Green King for making such a wonderful job of renovating the premises so tastefully and showing my local is important to the future of the company. Many thanks to Marcus and his team for a fantastic night. Live music , live footie and such a welcoming atmosphere. Loved the proseco and my IPA and of course the free tastes.

Went in for food last night

Went in for food last night. Ordered steak pie with mash and steak pie with chips. The mash had clearly been blasted in the microwave. Had a skin on top and looked a tint of green. The steak pies were frozen in the middle. Sent them back and asked for 2 macaroni. It was eatable but the side salad had seen better days. Won't be eating here again

Lovely carvery - The Gingerbread Man in…

The food at The Gingerbread Man in Market Drayton was lovely and fresh, the beef I had was tender and all cooked to perfection! The staff here seem to all take pride in their jobs and made me feel welcome even though I was dining alone. I’ll be back.
