I am a regular customer. I thought I would take advantage of the BOGOF offer on a pair of rump steaks.2 for £12. Sounds good? NO. Awful. One steak was OK, just OK rather dry and overcooked. The other ? 50% grisle. I did not send it back, as I should have, as I am a regular customer at that site. I suggested the manager tried to cut the 'portion' I left with the supplied steak knife.I received no feedback. The unit I visit weekly normally produces good value.I won't disclose the location, but the food quality/value varies extremely from week to week. Such a pity, as the pub is my local, and the location has such potential.
I went into Wetherspoons in Sevenoaks yesterday evening where the rugby was showing on their screens. It was absolutely packed with people eating and drinking and no free tables. When the rugby finished people started going. The tables were cleared and wiped immediately and chairs put back to where they belonged. It looked like they had never been as busy as they were. Now this is Wetherspoons, so why can't the Bull at Otford do the same. Been there on a Saturday evening and all the tables were absolutely full of plates and glasses and staff were standing around chatting at the end of the bar and I had to clear a table myself to sit. It was still like It when we left 2 hours later. It seemed like this pub had got itself together which was wonderful, but the staff are letting it down
At the Riverside Farm, Greene King Pub & Carvery in York the men’s toilets are very smelly and smell worse than the public toilets in the city centre. The unrinals could do with unrinal blocks fitting and automatic air freshers installing.
Booked for Christmas Lunch at the Mill on the Soar Broughton Astley Leicestershire, at 1430 menu pre booked. Arrived on time Did not get free drink had to get our own. Sat there for over 45 minutes then asked when we would get our PRE booked starter. Finally arrived 65 minutes after arrival. We then waited for main meal and had to get up twice to see what was happening finally had meal served at 1625. They should have kept it. Procced turkey roll, sprouts uneatable not even cooked, strange tasting carrots and beans, mushy cauliflower and luke warm. People were walking out fed up with waiting, No desert probably a blessing. At no time did anyone give an explanation, I even told the manager the meal was disgusting and she agreed. Christmas lunch which was supposed to be stress free was just the opposite. Considering we were required to pre order our meal in advance it should have run like clockwork. Unfortunately there is not a minus rating because that is what they would have got
My brother treated the family for a Christmas Lunch . it was a disaster from start to finish. We arrived at one o'clock for one thirty at two forty five was still waiting for our starterTable was left with dirty dishes and empty glasses at three thirty the Christmas Lunch that we were all eagerly looking forward to came and what a disappointment and disaster that was finally at around four thirty having not received our dessert or mince pie and coffee we all decided to leave leaving very angry and disappointed at what should have been a happy family occasion.
Me and my family had ourChristmas day and dinner at The Arrow in Arnold Nottingham. What an absolutely amazing day we had! Food was 10/10, service and all staff were friendly,, special mention to the manager Lydia for making it extra special....As a mum of 4 boys it certainly made my day easier and less stressful! Will definitely book again!!!!
Visited The Merry Go Round Hartlepool today for Christmas Eve Lunch with a number of family members. From start to finish our experience was 5*, we were taken to our table by’Maître d'hôtel’ Natalie whose service set a high bar for other staff members to follow… but achieve it they did… meal 5*… service 5*… competency 5*…friendliness 5*… even had a visit from the Chef… couldn’t complain about a thing… as we were leaving we came across Michael who went out of his to check how our afternoon had gone… after chatting he wished us all a Merry Christmas followed by a please call again… after our experience today that’s a given
If you are a blue light card holder, don't bother using it with Greene king, there is always an excuse to not be able to use it, the latest one being, one of our party ordered the daily special which means you can't get your blue light discount, why should that matter? If this was explained to us at the start, we would have ordered something else
Booked a table for 5 people at 6 pm on Christmas eve at The Kings Arms Billingham .Wolviston Stockton-on-Tees and couldn't have our table because they let people who were only drinking not eating have our table so after 10 min of faffing about trying to sort out other table for us only to be moved again due to blocking fire door the staff were realy helpful and pleasant food was also good unfortunately we weren't the only ones with table problems
