I am a medical doctor. I tried you device for 2 weeks while I was having problems controlling my blood pressure. I checked my BP hourly from 4 pm to midnight with my regular machine for a whole week having readings up to 165 mmHg and two days up to 170 mmHg systolic BP. Your device recorded only NORMAL BP reading and did not catch that PERSISTENT elevation. I found your device unreliable and providing a FALSE sense of security. This is dangerous for patients.
The concept of discrete monitoring is nice, the unit is well built and does not bother wearing it throughout the day.But...Expensive kit for the lack of accuracy it provides. Readings during d day are highly missing but good night monitor if that's what you are after.Support is disappointing, they dint responsed and now waiting for answers. Finally when u tell them unit does not work and you need a replacement, they slapped me d small print that medical device cannot be returned or replaced. Make your own judgement, not impressed at all.
Most of measurements are done when I sleep, I only get 1 daytime or none.It would be great to have the option to take a measurement and plan to be still so it works fine. We don't know when the bracelet will take the measurement so can't plan to rest a bit for a successful measure daytime.
So far very great! This may have saved me as I can now send reports to my doctor to modify my medication. However, even though it says waterproof I've never worn it in the shower. I recommended it to a friend who did take it in the shower and there's failed after one day.
I have been using Aktiia for about a month. It's accuracy matches well with my pharmacist's machine and it will help with getting proper prescription for my needed BP adjustments. Doctor likes seeing long term records. It is comfortable to wear. It connects well with its app on my iPhone. So far, very satisfied.
Aktiia is very much my idea of an excellent monitor; one preps and wears the bracelet, and then forgets it’s there! Not for me the awkward wrapping of constrictor inflation cuffs, simply an almost un-noticed bracelet, nothing to excite notice at all. Yes, all right, there’s the monthly re-registering of the bracelet with the included cuff but that’s far more carefully worked through than any medic’s intervention. Once the cuff is happy it knows what your blood pressure should be in terms that are acceptable to the medical profession, the bracelet is updated and life goes on. I really appreciate devices that simply work without intrusion into my life, and this is one of them.
