I got the Aktiia system as I have white coat syndrome and my GP had asked me on several occasions to use a 24 hour blood pressure monitor. As there is a history of high blood pressure in my family I was conscious of it and had also purchased a home measurement device. Aktiia gives me great peace of mind- whenever my doctor requests I can just provide a copy of the data and in the meantime I’m reassured my blood pressure is ok.
The gadget is very easy to use and instructions are very easy to follow. It has a long battery life which makes it convenient to use. The 2 hourly blood pressure readings can be enhanced more by increasing the frequency the gadget is monitoring the blood pressure. There are gaps in the readings at times when the gadget fail to capture the blood pressure. There are instances of disconnection as well.
The sync times are long - especially if I've not synced ina few days. Also, once synced the graph does not immediately update - I have to scroll back to an earlier day and then back for the graph to update. Otherwise I really enjoy the device.
Useful for recording my true blood pressure,I now get white coat syndrome so without this my doctor would be pushing me on pills.Would be five stars but the bracelet dose not record all the time so there’s gaps, so room for improvement.Also it comes with the medium strap which for me is on the last hole if I want a larger strap I have to purchase separately they could offer the right size with the initial purchase
I've had the device over two years. On my second as I upgraded as the latest model is waterproof. I, and my wife, both have one. The device is an accurate and reliable bit of gear to measure your blood pressure. It does so unobtrusively and throughout the day. The battery is pretty good and lasts over a week. And the latest iteration is waterproof. The device provides valuable insights into the ups and downs and patterns of blood pressure. (Eg: when the neighbours cat visits for some TLC my BP drops - who knew a cat worked as as product to lower BP.) It's sold as a one off cost without a monthly subscription. The response time for customer queries, whilst hardly brisk, is always fulfilled. So pretty much all good. Why not five stars? Well, it only links to the phone APP via the Internet. I'm assuming it's harvesting your BP for commercial purposes. But it means the connection between device and phone is a little slow. I feel a Bluetooth connection would be better. (I don't mind providing the data - just the delay it engenders in the device.) That said - if you have blood pressure concerns, wish to monitor medication, or just keep an eye on your health - this is a truly game changing device. Get one!
I have been using this for over a year but it's difficult to verify accuracy and really this is the only thing that matters. Poor accuracy would be worse than no information. You can't trigger a manual read from the bracelet and then verify against the cuff, which does the traditional BP measurement. If I could verify accuracy then really the device is excellent in terms of being unobtrusive in your life. 17th Nov 2024. Thx for the response, I have done as you requested.
