Total lack of professionalism. I am absolutely appalled by the level of incompetence and unprofessionalism I have experienced. The way my case has been handled—or rather, completely ignored—is nothing short of disgraceful.14 weeks ago, I reached out for assistance regarding an issue with my landlord. I provided a clear and detailed explanation of the problem. After waiting over 12 weeks without any response, I had to follow up myself. A few days later, I received a voicemail from Ben asking for further information. I called back, but since Ben was unavailable, I requested an email instead. When I finally received a response, I was shocked to see that Ben was asking me for details of the complaint I had already submitted back in October. At this point, the very least I expected was an apology for the outrageous delay—but none was given.Even more infuriating is the fact that after 14 weeks, my case has not only not been resolved, but it is now crystal clear that no one has even read my original complaint from 12th October. No action has been taken. Nothing. This level of negligence is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a total lack of professionalism. This situation is beyond ridiculous.
Don't bother taking your complaints to this lightweight excuse of an 'organisation', save yourself time and effort & go straight to a lawyer. Takes years for the HO to conclude a case, by which time you've lost the plot & given up, which is EXACTLY what they hope for along with the Housing Associations who deny absolutely everything so you'll eventually lose the will to live.
The Housing Ombudsman works for landlords and not tenants. Pre Richard Blakeway the housing ombudsman was good, but they're currently terrible. They refuse to investigate complaints. Failed to give call backs. They listen and communicate with landlords, whilst ignoring tenants. They gossip with landlords. They fail more tenants than they help. Housing ombudsman allows landlords to discriminate against disabled tenants and break their own policies. When the Housing Ombudsman claims to investigate your complaint they do it extremely poorly, and the report is full of incorrect information. The last insult in this long winded and slow debacle is £50 if you're lucky.
On Sat. 11th January residents at our property in London W14 will record the FOURTEENTH ANNIVERSARY of an official notice produced by the Landlord’s agents on 11 Jan. 2011. This letter outlined problems with possible fire hazards and other health & safety issues associated with a basement dwelling. Despite the HOS making a decision of Severe Maladministration on 13 Sept. 2023 (69 weeks ago), the internal remedial works remain outstanding. The Ombudsman has disregarded numerous/multiple written reminders of the extended delay. Nor does the HOS appear capable of exerting any pressure on the Landlords to begin the repair work.
What has happened to The Housing Ombudsman??? It is now taking an unreasonable length of time (years) for you to start investigating serious complaints about social housing landlords, serious complaints are now being left for years before any investigation even starts, this is totally unacceptable!!!!It seems as though The Housing Ombudsman is now colluding with social housing landlords against tenants. I am now very suspicious of The Housing Ombudsman and how fair or impartial they actually are. I can see from the countless other negative reviews that the public feel the same way and are feeling completely let down by this so called service. All of “The Ombudsman” services are not fit for purpose they are all corrupt and need investigating and closing down. The British public deserve a fair and impartial service that investigates their complaints honestly. This system is rotten.
Awful. I have been trying to raise a complaint with them since earlier in the year about an ongoing damp and mould issue that has been going on for 18 years. They asked for a complaint number, I gave them this, then heard nothing. I have repeatedly sent further evidence to them as I have received it and I just get automatic acknowledgements back. They are not fit for purpose. My housing association says they will deal with damp and mould matters urgently, they simply don't and when the only option then is to seek support from the ombudsman, what's the point? They are useless and not fit for purpose.
They will distort your complaint and make you sound trivial , they will manipulate by omission in the report , deliberately withhold information , its a biased service , I actually think it’s a scandal the way that they are treating people . If I was priminister I would send them to prision
