Review Time
I ordered an unlocked iPhone 11 online and I did not get one. The supplied phone was not unlocked, and still locked to the ‘3’ network. I had to bring it into CEX in Carlow. They could not unlock it and so it was returned. I bought an unlocked one off the shelf from the shop and after a month it stopped charging and I had to have the port cleaned. Would you not do a simple thing like clean the charging and mic ports on a phone that’s supposed to be refurbished. Also battery capacity was at 80% the absolute minimum that Apple advise for optimal performance
I bought a Nikon camera and lens package, plus another separate Nikon lens. When I got home I discovered that the lens that was part of the package was missing. I went back to the store and after 20 minutes managed to get a full refund for all items. I asked them to let me know if they found the lens, as I still wanted to buy it. They did not contact me, so I went into the store a few days later. The camera was still there, and they had found the lens. The other lens had been sold. A few days later, I got an email asking me for a review of my experience (see my initial review above). Within a few days CEX contacted me to apologise for the issues, and asked if I still wanted the lens that I had bought originally with the camera, but had returned. When I said I would still like the lens, they found one at another store and had it sent to my nearest CEX store. It took a few weeks, but I was impressed by the fact that CEX went to the trouble of 1) reading my initial review, and 2) managed to correct the issues I had raised.
Love CeX, but sometimes it is a little unreasonable. I ordered two bluetooth speakers, both graded as A. One arrived in an unopened new box (wow!), and the other one was pretty dirty. In my opinion the dirty one should have been graded as B or even C. Wish it was a little more consistent. Overall great service! Use it for both buying and selling.
