I bought the 21 days Japan Rail Pass for my 1 month-long trip in Japan.It’s only convenient if you’re planning a long itinerary like mine, Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto-Hiroshima-Fukuoka-Sendai-Sapporo and back to Tokyo, including adjacent towns. (It also includes the Miyajima ferry!)If you’re just doing Tokyo–Osaka–Kyoto, it’s probably not worth it, not even the 7 days one, as you won’t make the most of the pass’s value and will only be a waste of money.I activated my pass at Japan Rail Cafe Tokyo, which I highly recommend, the staff were super helpful, spoke good English, and made the process quick and easy.The pass gave me the freedom to be spontaneous with my travel plans, even changing them midway without any problems, which really enhanced my trip.If you’re planning to travel across whole Japan, the 21 days JR Pass is absolutely worth it, it’s reliable, efficient, and makes the journey part of the adventure.Highly recommended!
